It’s a warm day today and the bugs are bad so I am in the house wish I could post a pic I made the cube love these they are so easy your instructions are great thank you my husband like when I watch your u tubes he said your instructions are so easy to follow oh I have so many fat quarters and with the weather the way it is happy me sewing thanks Cheryl
I love these! I will make that fat quarter one. Only I will put the lining in going the opposite direction. That way when I fold down the top, it will look checker board-ish. You never disappoint! Thank you (and your crew) for the time you take putting these videos together.
Once again, fabulous tutorial. My daughter and granddaughter say they need these since they just started sewing. Mom (aka “Nanny - me”) will help them. Thank you! Your tutorials have been bringing us together
I love these. I'm in the process of organizing my sewing room. I have a bunch of fat quarters. I don't want to go out and spend money on plastic boxes, when I can make these. Thanks again for another great idea
Too cute! I think, for me, I would drop a removable, hardboard square into the bottom, for stability. Definitely going to do these! Right now, I have more tissue holders and cloth (Halloween bag pattern) market bags on the machine for Sunday's Farmer's Market, by me.
Thank you for making this. I have been wanting to learn how to make these. I just stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks I'm so happy I did! I have so much fun watching your videos and I have learned so much from you. Thank you again.
I love your tutorials. Your method of teaching inspires me to be confident in attempting these projects. I really want to make these for my daughter's book/ storage shelf which has cubbies. I want them to take up (filll) the space on the bottoms as well as the sides. When time permits, will you please explain how to determine and customize storage cubes to fit any random sized shelving spaces? Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Great tip. The fabric squares dimensions are now listed below the RUclips screen. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
It is a pre-cut piece of fabric that is 18" wide by 22" long. You will find them pre-folded into a small square. You can buy them at Joann Fabrics and Crafts, quilt fabric shops, and Walmart. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
This is a great tutorial. I really need to make several of these for my sewing room to organize all my junk. I looked for fabric dimensions below, I was unable to find any directions. Did I miss them somehow?
Hi Mc. Decide what is the finished size you want. Then add 1/2" to that measurement, and cut all the squares that size. Happy holidays. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I LOVE this video! I'm at a loss as to a "heavy iron on fusible"........... is there a Pellon number that you know of that would work? Also, do I just turn the top edge down an inch or two?
It is Pellon heavy iron-on interfacing #808. I purchase mine from Walmart off of the bolt. You can also buy small pieces in packages at Joann Fabrics and crafts. You can use any heavy iron-on interfacing. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I have just started sewing, mostly items for my sailboat. The major obstacle I have encountered is cutting fabric. I want to thank you for your recent videos where you have provided detailed instructions and guidance on cutting fabric. I have learned so much from you over the past few months. I look forward to learning more. Any tips on sewing that 1/8 inch top Stitching?
Look at your presser foot. There should be red lines that you can use as a guide. On my presser foot I have 3 lines that are 1/8" apart - center, left, right. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
Yes you could. Make it a little larger than the top so that it will fit over it. You could also take a shoe box or buy a plain box at a crafts store, and cover it with fabric. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I checked underneath the RUclips screen for the fabric sizes to cut out but could only see the cube sizes. Am I reading it wrong? Are the sizes shown the size of the fabric required? Thank you.
why did you cut your squares at 11 inches when none of the measurements down below mentions it? do we cut the fabric with the measures you have down below or add to it?
I love your tutorials instead of cooking Sunday dinner I am going to make some baskets to put all my stuff in.
Thank you so much for watching and happy sewing! 😍
