My GP and cardiologist want me to take Repatha, a PCSK9 inhibitor. I learned it is an injectable monoclonal antibody drug. I don't want my immune system tampered with and I have read horror stories about this drug. I am increasing fiber, Omega 3 and since lab work showed my beta sitosterol was very low, I am adding more plant based foods to boost. I have celiac disease so I stay away from most starches.

My doctor wanted to put me on statins in my late 40's, because my cholesterol was higher than expected. She informed me of this as i was leaving her office. As I walked out of the door she said,"by the way, you will be on statins for the rest of your life", and proceeded to close the door behind me. With the host of information available now, it suggests that most, GP's are ignorant of this new information, they are highly educated drug dealers or simply are not interested in making people better.

The microbiome which consists of billions of different types of microbes which are different person to person and can change by the day have an influence on functions within the body both positive and negative but its not well understood. My mom's cholesterol was 380 and she wouldn't take statin drugs. She did get dementia though which I blame a blood pressure medicine Atenolol. A study was done at the University of Indiana stating dementia problems have incurred in women over 75. When I saw that I took her off, but she was having memory problems earlier. She lived to 4 months shy of 90. She was active to a point that she would help me shovel mulch for my gardens well into her 80's.

Cholesterol is not bad, but high cholesterol levels are not a good sign as likely a lot of repair is happening. The repair can be part of the plaque buildup as has been explained. If you have high cholesterol look at free radicals and what is damaging your blood vessels.

    • @Fern_Yaz_Pets_Music
      @Fern_Yaz_Pets_Music 2 месяца назад

@@davycrockett8886 It's said if you read. It's not cholestoral that causes clots. Calcium build up that should go in your bones. Vitamin K2 puts the calcium in your bones. Eggs and other foods if you read have K2. Processed foods not. Your body also makes it's own fat. Eat nothing but spoonfuls of sugar (there is no fat in sugar) you will go fat though because your body turns sugar into fat. I know we aren't pigs or cows or rabbits. Cows and pigs naturally eat grass. They don't eat fat. How then are their bodies made up of so called unhealthy fats that are supposed to be bad for us. I was slim but my cholestoral was a bit over what it should be. I followed a low fat diet, first time I've ever piled on weight. Advised to eat rice, pasta, lean meat. Mostly carbs. I then ended up insulin resistant. I read a lot and went on a keto diet, low carbs, more fat. In 3 weeks I felt less hungry, I ate what I wanted though but laid off the carbs and sugar, lost a good bit of weight. You can eat up to 50g of carb, though. If you want maybe to keep your veg. There aren't many carbs in certain veg and very very low in a salad with your fatty meat. Processed low fat veg spreads are worse. The best fats to use are olive oil(although made from olives is really good), coconut oil, butter even lard is much healthier. Don't have sugar containing meats like barbacue sauce. Read about the bad effects of eating heated sugar and fat together. The reason why ice-cream is a bad food to eat. Sugar naturally comes with fibre like in fruit. The fibre stop you from getting the sugar spike. Fizzy drinks, pure orange or fruit juice, cane sugar, cakes, biscuits sugar foods with no fibre or the fibre taken out. Healthy fat avocado is full of fat but not processed. Organic veg and eggs and grass fed animal meat is better but more expensive. Foods are healing. Many videos of professional doctors who open their own clinics and educate people online. They use food and explain just a lack of certain vitamins can cause bad disease. They find the cause instead of masking the symptoms with tablets. It's just a profit making food and medicine world, where doctors aren't trained in food and vitamins. If your cholestoral goes over a number they decide is over what it should be. Then statins for life, same with sugar.. They don't cure nothing. You can resolve them by cutting down on the sugar and carbs. Eat more fatty foods ( fill you up) Soon your body will eat into it's own fat and make ketones. When it does you won't feel hungry at all and eats into your stored body fat. Your body is made up of fat. The brain needs fat to function properly. Fasting is really good. Intermediate fasting. Eat only in a 6 hour window. Say from 300pm - 9.00pm. That means your fasting 18 hours a day. Our bodies can't heal if we are eating and digesting food throughout the day..

It has not been easy to change my diet; but, I did live on a farm until I was 15 years old. Getting back to the basic foods (that I ate when I was young) was just what my system was craving. Breaking my addiction to processed foods has not been easy. I'm still working on my diet changes. Shopping at the smaller grocery stores helps keep me away from so many temptations.

The head of Cardiology in Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles told me that they have found out that cloresrtol isn't the problem, it's Chronic Low Grade Inflammation. He told me that when your arteries get irritated the cholesterol comes along and says "Oh there's a problem, let's cover it up" thus the build up in your arteries.

You just end up feeling hungry and eat more. Odd to me that animals who eat grass and no fat, like a cow. Where does the cholestoral and fat they have in their body come from. Low fat foods also contain more sugar. Sugar turns to fat. Your body makes it's own cholestoral. Must do because a lot of animals eat just grass,. Pigs don't eat fat naturally either. Yet they are fat.

I was put on a statin because I have “high cholesterol” I developed joint muscle pain, low energy, vision problems, brain fog and memory loss. My Dr said it was most likely age related, I’m 45. On a statin my Total Cholesterol was 178
    HDL 51
    LDL 105
    TRIG 109
I went off the statin and started the carnivore, all my symptoms went away in 2 weeks and 7 months in I feel amazing.
My total Cholesterol is now 430
    HDL 67
    LDL 345
    TRIG 88
I am a thin active person my whole life so I may be a LMHR. Also I’m going to a NMR Lab that goes into greater detail of what kind of cholesterol you have. High LDL numbers are not always bad depending on the type. I may test for FHM as well.
I also asked twice for a fasting insulin test before I changed my diet and the Dr refused to give me one because my blood sugar was ok. We know a fasting insulin test gives you the heads up if you are developing insulin resistance before it’s too late.
I love Dr O Neal’s videos because she gets to the cause of the problem, not the symptoms.

Complex carbs do not cause disease, and they are in fact a staple of many of the longest-lived people. However, for most people carbs are a dirty word, and they really don't differentiate. A bowl of brown rice and a pastry are not the same.

@@eppyz thyroid is a hormone, and you need cholesterol to make hormones. Vegans, and vegetarians have in general lower cholesterol since they don't eat animal products at all or at least don't eat meat. As the doctor explained in the video people need to eat fiber, fat and protein. I guess we can make glucose, that's why it is not needed to eat it. People on plant-based diets may not get enough fat and protein.
I also had various issues after cutting meat and going more plant-based, although I ate some fish. I fixed my issues by removing soy from diet, eating fatty fish and meat. Some doctors will say that diet has no influence on some health problems but I believe it does. I hear they almost don't learn any nutrition in medical school. It sounds like your doctor knows more than most.

God bless you Babara O'Neil, appreciate the no-nonsense take on health vs pharma! Need to ask for your opinion if I may... I'm genetically prone to high cholesterol and have been so since I was 18... usual story, doctor was keen to get me on the meds due to family history of heart attacks and high cholesterol (correlated, no idea?!)... I held out until I had a family and was unable to lower my LDL naturally so decided to "be responsible" and take the statins in my earlier 30s... I am now in my early 50s, fairly active and healthy... coming to grips with how bad this stuff is and wondering if it would be reckless to come off the statins (Crestor) given the family history?
Obviously I am not going to be seeking advise from a GP as I know what the answer will be lol

My glucose is completely normal, insulin is low, but my A1C is 5.9. I am on continuous glucose monitor, my glucose never goes over 125 after I eat. Usually around upper 80s to high 90s. I fast about 18-20 hrs. Barbara, please, I don't want to go on cholesterol meds, which my doctor recommends. What else can I do, I am going to cry.

Thank you for this amazing informative video. I am very scared to go off statins as I recently had a heart attack. If I live on a balanced diet as you advised, surely my cholesterol tests will show a good drop in my cholesterol to a point where my GP will stop my Cholesterol meds?
I am trying to make sense of all of this without putting myself in danger due to ignorance.

If you stop eating pre-packaged foods and cooking oils processed with hexane and heat, it will happen soon enough... Your oils should say "cold-pressed" or "expeller-pressed" on the label. This means that the oils were simply pressed out of the product. Olive, coconut, avocado, and meat fats are all good choices. If you use salad dressings and mayonnaise, make your own! Cook fatty hamburger and pork belly, and save the strained grease for cooking - it saves money and saves you from having to "dispose" of the rendered grease.
I do this, and my triglycerides were 46 at the time of my recent bloodwork!
