  • The Kings and Queens we know now have almost no political power in modern society. But in Medieval Europe, the monarchs were seen as God’s representatives on Earth and wielded tyrannical power over their subjects. They brought with them dynasties that ruled for centuries and brought stability to their kingdoms.
But it wasn’t easy. Rulers were often deposed, exiled or beheaded, paving the way for new dynasties to emerge and take control.
This is the tale of how two of the biggest global powers came to be. This is the tale of the Dynasties of France & Spain.

You haven't noticed that they use the same pictures for every documentary, whether they are appropriate or not?

For those who believe the American continent was populated by Italians …, I can understand why you feel that way. We need to find out why the education in the US is so embarrassingly bad. This is a mystery to me, though I have my suspicion.

No mention of the current European Union which wields some considerable tyrannical power over the European countries formerly, directly ruled by these monarchical dynasties.

17:00 - Spanish being spoken by more people in the world, than English, is highly questionable. I'm not sure if they are referring to the number of people who speak these two languages natively, but statistics suggest only about 500 million people in the world speak Spanish (a total of 21 Countries), while there about about 1.6 Billion people, who speak English (a total of 67 countries and 27 non-sovereign entities). If the statistics are correct, less that 1/3 of the number of people, in the world speak Spanish, in comparison to English.

Spanish has 474 million native speakers and 548 million speakers, while English has 373 million native speakers and 1.4 billion speakers.
