Hey! My name is Dave Donoghue and I am a Guitar teacher from Ireland
The aim of these videos is to create Easy and Accurate Guitar Songs that you can play on guitar. I have many playlists that act as a collection of easy song lessons for beginners and intermediate players on guitar. These easy guitar tutorials contain open chords with strumming patterns! Whether or not you are into pop songs or you are here because you want to learn how to play easy guitar songs, I hope my collection of song lessons help you!
When learning guitar, a lot of players are looking for easy guitar songs to strum but even if you have been playing a lot longer than that, then these lessons are still a good group of tutorials of easy guitar songs to sing and play. Although some songs were originally played on electric, they still make good beginner acoustic songs, many being easy songs in easy keys. I know with RUclips there is so much to learn out there and you may be asking yourself "what is a super easy song to play on guitar"? , well I hope this channel will be built out over time to help serve your playing so be sure to subscribe for future uploads! ..and remember to get your free access to my tab and song sheet collection at theschoolofgui...

This helped a lot I don’t know why nobody says these kind of things 😂 thank u buddy
You're welcome :)
My grandpa is in his seventies and is teaching me how to play, first lesson was last night. I came here for this exact reason! Thanks man 🤙🍻
This problem happens to those who learn by themselves. There simply is no one to tell them what they are doing wrong.
I’ve had three guitar instructors and none of them ever told me this
I was always so confused why it sounded off going up , now I know lol
Helped me so much bro nobody talks about this small things but small things make difference
Sweet, I'm so happy it helped!
I'm playing the guitar for 3 whole f*** years and I never managed to strum with the pick properly, I just did play with the nails LMAO U just saved my whole life
same
Exactly what I was missing
I love you 😭
I take it the tip worked 😀
Thanks for explaining this. Yes, I was under the impression that you strummed all of them on the up-strum.
you're welcome!
@@TheSchoolOfGuitar is this the same even if its tabbed that im strumming up and down fast and the chord read the same two frets need strummed each time? or am i just coming up and hitting the open high strings?
This was very helpful! I appreciate you making this for us😁
You’re welcome!
So I'm not the only one struggling 😂 thanks bro ❤
No way, you got this 🎶😎
Nice! 👌Your making me want to pick up the guitar again!✌
Go for it! I'm running a free 5-day absolute beginner bootcamp from Nov 1st, drop me a mail at dave@theschoolofguitar.com if you want to join in Mark!
Thanks for making these videos, I'm starting to play my guitar again after five years... I had to learn on my own so a lot of my techniques are incorrect - the strumming being one of them 😅 I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos and retraining myself how to play!
Hey there! Welcome back to guitar :) ..if you want a free 5 day guitar course, go to the main link in my profile and you'll find it there!
In some chords we shouldn't play all the strings right ? Does that mean we should follow that criteria while also playing it for a random song ?
100% great insight and question! In general, you miss top string on E type chords, top 2 strings on A type chords, and top 3 strings on D type chords
I just bought a guitar yesterday I struggled badly on strumming upwards thanks for this
I have tried everything and I'm a beginner and I don't even like to use a pick but my guitar sounds so bad I don't know what's going on please help me 🙏
Hi Gill! If you pop me an email to dave [at]theschoolofguitar [dot]com and I can send you a lesson pass to my free 5-day learn to play challenge: it will help iron out some of the sounds. ..and I'm there inside the platform to help. It's currently closed for enrollment but if you drop me an email I can get you and we'll sort it out :)

When I strum up I hit the side of a string causing me to hurt my fingers and also stopping the song. How do I strum up correctly without my fingers hitting the side of a string?
Send on a DM to my Insta and I’ll take a look: my handle is the_schoolofguitar
Strumming up without a pick hurt my thumb and my first finger always stucked

Sir I have recently started playing rumba/flamenco on my steel string guitar. As you know it requires fast strumming. So here’s my dilemma. I got adviced that I should play rumba on a classical guitar, as steel string guitar will get damaged with such fast strumming and my nail won’t last longer. Secondly can I use fake nails “finger picks” for rumba strumming on steel string guitar ? Kindly answer
Ooooh Thanks for your comment, I don't actually know, as I have no experience in rumba/flamenco, I would suggest you follow the advice for a couple of weeks and see how it works for you
👍👍👍
I needed this! Thankyou so much ❤
You’re welcome!
