    Stunning.
    When I was a kid growing up in the 90s sans internet and always starved for shark-filled content, tuning in to Shark Week faithfully each year, THIS was the kind of thing I was always hoping to see. Not bloody baitings or predation compilations with slasher-movie soundtrack in the background. This is some of RUclips's best!

    Sick footage as usual, man. If you want to find more tiger sharks that are close to the surface, I recommend Shark Bay, Western Australia. I was there years ago, but I didn't have a drone nor the skills to pilot one. I guarantee you'd see a lot of tiger sharks, dugongs, dolphins, whales and maybe even whale sharks in April and May. It's a major hike from here in the US, but it's freakin beautiful out there. Lots of great places to film sea creatures all around the Australian coasts, in fact.

      Language and meanings change over time. In the 1970s and early 80s, things were 'bad' which meant they were 'amazing' or 'sick'. Don't misunderstand me, I'm a fan of correct usage however, as English has always been a hybrid of other languages, it is malleable.

    Your videos are always beautiful and informative. I've been wanting to do a type of shark survey at my local beach over a summer but it's part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore- a national park, meaning all drone filming is prohibited without permission (which they almost never give). And even if I was somehow able to get permission, my particular area is part of Naval airspace and they will not be happy if I fly a drone around here. However I know we have a decent amount of hammerheads because they are seen every year but also bull sharks, mako sharks and plenty of sand sharks. Ocearch has even shown white sharks around here- strangely, if you follow the track of these, they've often come from the Atlantic coast of New England or even further north, around Canada, and traveled all the way around the tip of Florida, into the Gulf and off the coast of the Florida panhandle. And that's just the few that have been tagged so I'm guessing there's probably more.

    You and ocean Ramsey have done so much to change the ignorance about sharks. You are showing people that they shouldn't be afraid to swim with sharks and yes, Great Whites. Ocean Ramsey has even proven that as long as it's decently clear water and the shark can tell it's a human, you can even pet them because they are the big puppy dogs of the sea. There has never been a true attack on a Human by a shark. If they can see that you're not prey, you're 100% safe. Rarely mistakes have happened by wearing seal looking wetsuits or in cloudy water but even then the shark let's go. Unfortunately, the size of the shark has caused fatalities from the accidental bite. There has never been a true stalking out a human, attacking the human and then predating the human. You're safe around these animals in fairly clear water

    • @surfrider986
      @surfrider986 Год назад

      That's complete nonsense. A few shark species like the Great White are dangerous and will occasionally attack and even consume people (the attack on Simon Nellist is a recent example). Just because we may not be on the regular menu doesn't mean a GW won't feed on a person if it's hungry enough.

    • @kurtdavis7588
      @kurtdavis7588 Год назад

      @@surfrider986 I disagree with you. Great white shark or any of the larger sharks have never truly attacked and eaten a person. They are very docile animals. Just watch all the Malibu artist or ocean Ramsey videos. Simon nellist must have instigated the shark. He may have harassed or gave the shark a reason to defend itself. A great white would not just seek out someone to eat like that. That was probably a self defense attack

    • @surfrider986
      @surfrider986 Год назад

      @@kurtdavis7588 You're of course entitled to your opinion but it does fly in the face of proven shark attacks. I like the Malibu Artist videos and even Ramsey has some merits, although she herself had a lucky escape recently when she had to abort a dive when a Tiger shark came up suddenly from the depths. Nellist, who was a keen supporter of marine environment issues, was just swimming from one beach to another when attacked. He wasn't harassing the GW in any way, although some say it was mistaken identity, not something I believe myself as the shark returned to consume him. Certain species like the GW, Bull, Tiger and Oceanic Whitetip sharks do on occasion attack humans, they are wild animals which certainly shouldn't be treated like pets.

    • @kurtdavis7588
      @kurtdavis7588 Год назад

      @@surfrider986 straight up, I don't believe in mistaken identity either. It just doesn't make sense to me and has always bothered me. How can a shark, like the great white have amazing eyesight and special sensors to detect and distinguish different electrical impulses from great distances? They also can recognize the difference in sea lions and seals. The mistaken Identity part has always bugged me. It honest to God, doesn't make sense.
      I don't think he was harassing the great white. I do believe that the white shark just straight up predated him. I also believe sharks are dangerous. I and any other animal lover have no problem admitting that a bear, coyote, wolf etc will just stalk and predate you, period. Why is it such a hard thing for people to come to grips that a large shark is also capable of the same behavior. My original comments were sarcastic from having to battle with people talking like I was in the previous comments. I was still in my trolling mood from earlier. Basically being a ridiculous version of the people I was arguing with
