Replacing the worn out soles on your Alpinestars motocross boots is a great way to keep your boots feeling like new and is cheaper than having to buy a new pair of boots. Alpinestars makes sole replacement easy but offering replacable sole inserts that come with both soles and the polyurethane adhesive needed for installation. Replacing soles may seem like a daunting task but in this video Charles shows how to correctly replace the sole inserts on Alpinestars Tech 10 boots, but this procedure will also be very similar for Alpinestars Tech 7 boots.

Awesome! I didn't know you could do this yourself, I thought you had to send them away to get done. thanks!
Thanks for video. I'll be doing my boots this winter.
Looks like the funnest job ever.
Man this is awesome I have to send mine away every winter, I buy two sets of boots then alternate each year sending the pair I use that year out that winter . I get a few seasons out of each set .
Where do you send yours? I have a winter pair that are a size bigger so I can wear waterproof socks and really should have sent them off by now
@@noControl556 I believe it’s moto boot repair or Mx boot repair in Cali . Takes a few day’s come back like new around a 100 bucks . Clean them well before shipping I got yelled at once sending dirty boots lol .
@@mcsbikelife3829 Thanks for the info, I'm thinking for $100 I'll probably just wear them until a hole forms then pick up a new set of leftovers on clearance for under $300. I've had them for 3 seasons now and they just look chewed up but can probably get another season or two out of them if not worried about damaging the bottom vs. just the insert
Will they replace the white portion also or just the middle?
Are you guys ever gonna carry these again in a size 12?
what kind of bond/glue is this?
The inserts need to cover more of the ball of the foot area. The white section gets torn to pieces.
Thats the same problem I have
Sounds like you're riding MX how you're supposed to ride it and that part is not easily replaceable.
Cool, yo can do the same kind of video With the instict?
Instincts don't have replaceable soles
@@trickynic3866 yes they do lol
My instinct soles need replacing, I’d imagine it’s the same process, think I’ll give it a try 🤞🏻
Where can I find it? Recommend me. Thank you.
When rising MX like you're supposed to you'll be wearing out the toe area. I wish they actually made that area replaceable.
Is there some reason you left out the tech 8 ? Can you do this with the tech 8 ?
The Tech 8 hasn't been sold for several years and that boot had a stitched sole. Did you mean the Tech 7? If you did, then yes, the process for the Tech 7 is very similar.
See you on the trails chase
What type of glue is best? guessing that is important
The adhesive is included with the replacement soles.
Will this work on the tech 5’s?
No
That's cool but mine are tore up just above that part where it meets the white .
same for me :D
I would like to see a video on how to clean your boots. Sounds basic but there has to be some tips and tricks to do it quicker and better
Use a traffic cone and put the boot upside down on the cone and jet wash off
Wich compound does this glue is made of?
Awesome thanks
I wish their customer service didn't suck. I need new boots but I'll be getting SG-12s.
Did the same thing. Sg12 are by far a better boot. Sizes were bang on for me also. I wear a size 9 in tech7s and the size 9 of the SG12 was a perfect fit.
@matty d well the Tech 7s were. Not sure about the Tech10s.
I would highly recommend going to the SG-12s if you can afford them. They are much better boot for support and wear, but still have some flexibility after a few rides.
Can you replace an mx sole with an enduro sole?
On the Alpinestars boots, only the insert is replaceable so you wouldn't be able to swap out the entire MX sole for an enduro sole.
I’ve found that by the time these need replacing the rest of the boot is screwed as well, gotta love replacing $700 boots 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
is the fox instinct boots works on same way?
We haven't replaced on of their soles but the process may be similar.
Is the sg12 sole replaceable?
Yes, but not by yourself. You would need to take it to a shoe cobbler
@@rmatvmc thanks for the info mine had a bit of wear already
Yeah this is definitely only a fix for riders that don't ride on the balls of their feet like you're supposed to. It's ridiculous Alpinestars even has a fix for this area that doesn't get wore out when you ride correctly 🙄
150 degrees of what ?
Lol he hole is coming just in front of the black insert. I ride on the balls of feet. also the whole sole is coming off....
Can i use another brand of soles in Fox instict boots?
No, you will need to use the soles designed for your specific boots.
