    I am looking for an authentic Argentine Beef Empanada and I found this one, the Salta Empanadas. I love the fact that the beef wasn't ground. This is superb! I love all the flavors from fresh onion chives and hot chili and the different textures as you open the empanada and put it into your mouth! I can't wait to make this one! Thank you so much, Amanda!     You're spanish is incredible. I just came back from the Salta/Jujuy region (I'm an Aussie who lives in New Zealand). I just married my wife in from Buenos Aires. She is from there. I have two goals in life: to speak fluent Argentine Spanish and to be able to cook Argentine cuisine. I definitely found a big variety of quality of empanadas. The stand out best was in a bodegon in Monte Grande. The juiciness was the key. We went to Cafayate but I think I had goat stew for lunch and empanadas as an entre. I don't believe they were a stand out at the place I went to. The stew was very nice though.

    Definitely going to be making a weekend trip to Salta soon for some of these empanadas and Torrontes! I can practically smell and taste them just watching this. Mmmm. Thanks Amanda and Gabriel!

    Amanda Barnes, thanks to you and Chef Gabriel Rodríguez for teaching me the method... My only trip to Buenos Aires was marred by the food experience. Much of it was incredibly salty, rendering it nearly inedible. Maybe I just went to the wrong restaurants and ate street food from the wrong places.

      You need to come to wine country! Eating empanadas in Salta or Mendoza with delicious local wines is the best :)

    Sorry, I prefer them baked no deep fried. Those are the real ones.

      Througth different regions of Argentina empanada recipes may vary. Ingredients are according to the type of meat and vegetables available.
