  • The Big White Patrol team took me for an early morning ski in return for a few swigs of ski sauce. Big White Ski resort is regarded by many as the crown jewel of Okanagan ski areas. From the expert terrain on the Cliff chair, to the gorgeous wide groomers, there's something for everyone here. It was a proper storm day and the snow didn't stop. Due to strong winds the Gem Lake chair didn't open but that didn't matter, the tree skiing rocked all over the mountain. I'm not really sure what's going on with the interior weather forecasters, but Big White had way more snow than forecasted. Also, unlike all the other mountains across North America Big White had the deepest snow base I've skied yet. It felt like real mid-season coverage in the trees. It was great getting back to Big White after so many years and I promise I'll line up a blue sky day so I can explore the nooks and crannies of the mountain. Mark my words ‪@bigwhiteskiresort‬, I'll be back for some more Okanagan Champagne Powder!

When I was in highschool in the 80's there was no such thing as too early. My best friend and I would get up at 5:30am in Calgary and continually try to break our speed record getting to Sunshine. Zero traffic, radar detector ON, proper musical accompaniment and we never got pinched despite setting landspeed records through the Bow Valley corridor weekly. We'd roll in to Sunshine's empty parking lot, spend ten minutes burning donuts just cuz we were 16, then we'd settle back and catch 45 to 60 minutes of sleep til the gondola opened. Once you get used being ultra early it's a hard habit to shake.

Looks like the 114s are the shizzle for you in the powder. It’s a pleasure watching you ski. You’re damn good, but still humble. You exemplify skiing for the love of the sport. Frankly, you’re a little off center. Anyone who rides a bike four hours to go skiing is, uh… “special”. 😂

Like most resorts, weekends can be busy, especially when there's fresh on the ground. But most weekdays are pretty quiet. In the spring (March to early April) it seems like everyone has golfing, boating, and biking on their minds, cuz even on a big pow day, you could shoot a cannon off and not hit anyone. Dead as a doornail. That goes for all the Okanagan resorts.

Interesting. Would be interested to hear if anyone is noticing something off. I'm uploading at a pretty high framerate and unchanged from most of the year so might be a wifi issue
