Disneyland Paris' Phantom Manor is what is often referred to as the scariest haunted house Disney has to offer. Unlike the other Haunted Mansions, Phantom Manor follows a very clear storyline throughout the attraction, and it is one that you can appreciate even more once you know all of the imagineering details that are woven within. So get ready to be blown away by one of my favourite Disney backstories to date... (and some fun theories thought of by yours truly)

I hope to someday go on this. Phantom Manor videos actually were what helped me finally get over my constant fear and go on The Haunted Mansion years ago.

Ehm...Melanie is still just as much of a ghost as she was in the pre-furb story. Remember the endless hallway where she (dis)appears with her candelabra (now with the Phantom behind her)? Or at the end where she (dis)appears in guests doombuggies asking them to marry her? Yup, still a ghost.

Incredible video. Phantom Manor is my all time favourite attraction so always love hearing the backstory for it. One other attraction that seems to be tied to Phantom Manor may be Pirates of the Caribbean as in the portrait gallery after the stretching room there's a portrait of Davy Jones ship that turns aflame when the lightning flashes. Not too sure how the two connect story wise but still a neat find.
K1T K4T ChUNK33 I LOVE THAT CONNECTION. I am going in a few weeks and will look out to see if I can make sense of even more of a connection - maybe a pirate ghost?
@@ThatDisneyGirl A pirate ghost may actually be a possiblity cause one of the original concepts for the Haunted Mansion in California was to tell the tale of a sea captain (Captain Gore I think it was) his grave is still outside the mansion despite it being scrapped so maybe that could be a lead? Might be grasping at straws tho haha. Hopefully you can uncover more.

I really wanna walk around and explore Phantom Manor properly, examining all the props and such.
Used to work on a ghost train, but it wasn't one with a story, just random stuff popping out with repetitive music... All.... Day.... Long....

@@ThatDisneyGirl I love examining attention to detail in things, even the model that's looking out the window of Melanie I'd like to see if they've given her any particular facial expression and such, I'd imagine some of the creative people working in the art department there slipped in all sorts.
I'm still confused if at the end of the updated version whether Melanie is supposed to just desperate for marriage and to get away and the laugh she does is just because she's gone a bit crazy, or whether she's become a villain due to the laugh and knows it means you're doomed?
Mando Mavicus I totally agree and would looooove that, I’m sure there are details they knew we would never see but put it in anyway. And Ou I wondered that too! I like to think she’s going to kinda fight back against her dad at the end but that’s just me 🤷🏻♀️
@@ThatDisneyGirl You'll know more than I, do they ever have explanations into these ride stories anywhere? Or ever further explore them? Continuations and such or do they just dangle out the potential in front of us like a plate of human food to a dog? I hate unfinished stories! Maybe less than badly finished ones though... 'cough' Game of Thrones 'cough'.
