Thanks for that brief yet detailed review. I'm not the best swimmer, but since I haven't been swimming in a while, I'm sure I'm slightly out of practice right now. But once the pools open back up, I'll get back into the groove of things
I've tried Vanquisher 2 for so many times and they leak for me. But I absolutely adore Speedo Vengeance which looks very similar - best fit I ever had, wide view. The only thing I wish Vengeance had is a clear lens option - they are too dark for indoor pools.
That’s good feedback. Yeah the vanquisher comes in a billion different colors, styles and lens options. It’d be nice if there were more options for all of their goggles. 👍
I have used a pair of vaquishers for over a year now and love them, however I can only get them to work if the nose bridge is upside down. Not a big deal since I don't notice it when wearing them. Swam an OWS last weekend and my body definitely kept asking what the hell I was trying to do...Good news, sprint distancish done with only minimaly slower times though.
I bought a pair of speedo goggles years ago. It’s the best pair I ever had. The nose bridge piece recently broke. The straps are very solid and thin. Unfortunately, I don’t have the old box and I didn’t know what style it is. I want to find another pair, but don’t know how to.
Dusty where are you located? Maybe I could mail you some extra nose bridges. The vanquisher is an excellent option if that’s what you had. Feel free to private message me on Instagram.
One thing about the lower profile goggles is that they always bug my eyelashes. I think that's just me. I have weirdly long eyelashes. Some female model is totally jealous somewhere. 😂
@@mlegrand I have the same issue. I have gotten used to it 🥴. My training preference is Speed Socket 2.0 and race in Arena Cobra Ultra. Never had an issue in pool racing, open water or triathlon in the Cobra Ultra.
@@DannyPimienta - Depends on how much you’re swimming. Basically the anti fog will wear out at some point. 3-6 months for me. You can keep wearing them for much longer but the foggy lenses can be annoying. Most of the time I’m just too lazy to switch them out so I make the last over a year. 🤷🏻♂️
Hands down my favorite goggle of all of the ones I've tried. Same for Ellie, too. Yes, I remember that I should swim, but to be honest, I don't miss swimming, and have only been three times since our pools re-opened. And now that TC 70.3 is cancelled, I don't feel an urge to swim at all. I know...I'm being a lazy bum and using C19 as the excuse.
Hey Matt! Came over here from reddit. Awesome review on the goggles, if I am not able to win them I will definitely look into purchasing them once I graduate college. Being on a student budget has caused me to buy some pretty budget gear, and I look forward to purchasing these one day. Keep up the good work!
Entered! Zash, thanks so much for checking out the video! In the description of this video, I liked SwimOutlet who have a goggle from Sporti that is super cheap and honestly it's pretty good. I like the idea of a goggle that I can loose or give to my kids for them to loose and not worry about it. What college are you at?
Great Review!! I did remember how to swim surprisingly. I love those goggles. They are my go to goggles. I wear the women's Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 because I liked the purple color as it matches my kit.
I have an eye condition that makes me wear special contact lenses. They're pretty expensive and I've lost 2 of them in the past few months. I'm considering wearing this goggle to "hold" the lenses if they drop out of my eyes (as they have before). Even though they are not made for this, would you recommend me getting one in this case? Does it make a good seal between the goggle and your face? Thank you. Btw, my question has nothing to do with swimming (I don't even know how to swim, lol). I'm considering using it in open places where my lenses might fall.
Wow Davi, I don't know. I don't have any experience with that kind of issue. I would say that the Vanquishers are an excellent seal but don't know if I'd trust them for this use-case. I'd also contact a doctor and ask them these same questions. Maybe there's an issue with the fit of the special contact lenses?
@@mlegrand Yes I’ll ask my doctor about all this. I was just doing my research before doing it. Regarding the fit, I’ve been told nothing is wrong. They do many exams of my cornea shape before making the lenses, still I’ve managed to lose 2 of them 🤦♂️. I’ve seem some athletes who perform with glasses to protect their eyes (Edgar Davids as an example) and I wondered if I could do it too. Anyways, thank you for the response + very informative video!
Dear God, that flip turn needs to be taken outside and shot! 😉 Great run through, they're brilliant goggles and ones which I have used for a while. If they fit, they're an excellent option.
All the pools around me are still closed, but I've been getting down to the river to swim on weekends. As a fat-headed triathlete, I'd like to give these a whirl and see how they do on my huge gourd! 🤣
Thanks for the review, I broke my last ones and back in the market for another pair. This helps a lot 🤓 I sucked at swimming before quarantine, hopefully my land swimming drill help somewhat haha 😄
