I learned this from firefighters. They do it in -50 sweatier. They put antifreeze in a spray bottle and spray it on the hydrant threads before they attach the hoses. It keeps the hoses from sticking to the hydrant threads. Works great for metal door jambs, metal doors, and garage doors.

3” is the magic number for the bottom of the door to the deck in all situations. Also, a Dutch style door is nice for the heavier snowfalls. It allows the top half to open enough for to climb out in case of an emergency. The last thing you want is to wake up in the middle of the night to your camper on fire just to find out your doors frozen shut on you.

Nice job on the door Timmy. Advice from an old school carpenter. Leave your door on the hinges and scribe the 11/4” on the bottom, then take it off and cut the bottom. This helps if the floor and door bottom aren’t even. You can even make your cut on a little bevel. Had to do this all the time before pre-hung doors. Blessings

Now I have never seen snow like the storm they were supposed to have died in.

You may want to put some chalk or silicone sealant along the end of your threshold to stop water from seeping into the camper. It may be hard to get it to stick unless you can dry out the wood . TO replace a rear seal and brake pads shouldn't cost close to what they quoted you. They must charge a small fortune per hour because a decent mechanic should be able to replace both seals and install new pads in a day.
