There was something about her voice and style that drove us teenage boys crazy. I think that’s why we all watched it after the comedy was getting a little bit old. Still a great show.
I was just reading Mel Brooks memoir and I didn't realize that this was truly his HUGE breakthrough, despite his writing for Sid Ceasar' and performing a widely successful comedy album with Carl Reiner, The Two Thousand Year Old Man. Get Smart Pilot was turned down by ABC but picked up by NBC. Mel Brooks had finally arrived as a comedic Hollywood Force. He is still going strong at 97...aaaaaand loving it!

They used to have this on at 7 PM on ME-TV. Used to watch it all the time until they moved it to really late at night on weekends. I need to start watching it again to *Max* out my sense of humor. Seriously though, the humor in this was the greatest, and will always stick with me.
Interesting that 99's mom at one point (earlier episode) tells us 99's dad was a spy...and then says Simon looked exactly like her late husband (and the joke is, that's why she CAN resist him.)

Mr. Likeable was in Cocoon, very fine acting in a well-written part. Don Adams apparently would read that day's script a couple of times and then do the episode. No need to work at memorizing. Genius!
Paul Richards was great as Ironhand. His dry delivery was funny. He usually played evil villains but here he got a chance to play a comedic villain. Do you remember his tv series"Breaking Point" during the 1963-1964 season??? He was awesome as "Dr. McKinley Thompson".
It's such a shame Edward plat pasted away there might have been more programs ove Get Smart and 57 years old and still love it and all those cars he had unbelievable

In the beginning Max goes through a who scenario about the real 99 being the fake 99 and switches everything all around. The Chief asks him to repeat it. Max says, "Huh." Then the exchange between Larabee and the Chief, "Is he a good shot?" "I hope so."

This show is still funny, regardless of its age.
2021 and it’s still funny

Better than today's comedy
A classic that is still hilarious today.
Larabee.....😆😆 classic
99 was the perfect supporting actress for Maxwell Smart.
I did not grow up with the show. But I love it so much
Ed Platt was the best deadpan boss ever!
Agreed.
Absolutely!!
an awesome Grandfather as well ❤
Love that final scene with Larabee eating poisoned pie. The look on Max and 99 face is priceless.
99's look is just great
Isn’t there a Larabee in Wyoming?
