So far so good with this vacuum. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
Great video, it help me with the purchase of this vacuum beast, I used to have an Eufy 15c, and change it for this one and no regrets. For virtual barriers and no zones, I used my Home Xiaomi App wtih China servers and click on experimentals functions and you can save your Map and include this feautures. 1 hour and 30 minutes on normal Mode for my apartment of 240 square feet does an excellent Job. Its only floor not carpet, the other day I found some coins on the dust bin the 2500 of suction its insane on this one. I change the dock station place once and with some cleaning sessions it change the spot it in the Map with no issues at all, overall an excellent purchase for it's price.
thanks for the deep review. i'm planning to buy this product because it recently launched officially in my country Indonesia. 1 question. can we control the robot to mop only or to vacuum only?
The new firmware update has been released and brought a few new features to the Xiaomi MiJia 1C: map saving option, no-go zones, virtual walls, and zoned cleaning. At the moment, you can try the new firmware by switching your region in the Mi Home settings to the China mainland, updating the firmware to the latest version, activating "Experimental features" in the robot settings menu, and turning on the map saving option. Considering the new features, I would highly recommend buying this robot if you are looking for a budget, but still smart and powerful device. Edit: According to the Reddit post www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/flu6yi/xiaomi_mijia_1c_stuck_turning_on/?sort=new, some users experience an issue with activated experimental features. Basically, it breaks the device and it won't turn on anymore. Xiaomi temporary disabled the experimental features.
Thank you for this nice review. I was wondering if the navigation on the 1c still lets the vacuum cleaner bump into walls for changing direction. Or does it sence when it is near a wall and it turns automatically without bumping (or bumping less). Thanks for your answer!
Thank you. The 1C senses big obstacles and walls but might bump into one sometimes as it is not as accurate as the Lidar-guided robots. Overall I would say better than most budget robots if that makes sense :)
Hi. I was considering this Mijia 1c but it's height is more than 8cm, which means it cannot go under my sofa. Any robot that is less than 8cm high and as good as the MIjia 1c? Thanks.
@@SmartRobotReviews Thanks for the reply. One more question: Does the Mijia 1c have problem with power cords lying on the floor? As in will it chew them up? I have multiple electronic devices placed on the floor in my room.
Hello, thank you very much for this review. About the ability of the robot to pick up 99% of the sand and debris on bare floor, did you use the lowest suction/silent mode or the highest suction/turbo mode?
Awesome review! Which do you think is the best budget robot vacuum? I already owned s5 max and it's a beast. I wanna get one for my basement so i don't really need mopping feature. I still cannot decide between eufy robovac s11, xiaomi mijia 1s or mop pro version
Thank you! I think you will be disappointed by the Mop Pro after the Roborock S5 Max. On the paper, the Xiaomi Mop Pro looks great and has almost the same features as the S5 Max, but in reality is much worse in terms of vacuuming, navigation, app and firmware updates. Have you considered the Roborock S4? Haven't tested the Eufy and Mijia 1S, so hard to say something. But considering that Eufy Robovac S11 uses a random navigation pattern, I would not recommend it for big houses, it will leave a lot of places uncleaned since it doesn't build a map and don't know where it is already cleaned.
@@SmartRobotReviews i totally agree to what you said and i think Roborock s4 is the solid option. However, i can't seem to find any of it available in my country. I also heard that the Eufy 11s will clean your house until it runs out of battery
Thank you for the video > can I check i have few flower vases on the floor > do i need to move them away when the vacuum is cleaning the floor? or will it map by itself to maneuver away from the vases .?also if i want it to vacuum and mop at the same time does it sense the carpet and doesn't mop it? Thank you > Appreciate your time and effort
Thanks. No, the robot does not know when to vacuum the carpet and doesn't mop it. As to the vases it depends on the shape size and color I believe. I gave plants and the robot avoids the pot pretty accurately but if the vases are transparent it might not see it.
The best one is probably the newest Roborock S6 MaxV. But it's an expensive robot vacuum, so if I would look for something more affordable, I would choose the Roborock S5 Max. In the budget segment (under $250) I think the Mijia 1C is the best. Regarding the Mijia 1C, right now it costs $240 on Gearbest, the mapping is not as accurate as in robot vacuums with Lidar, but it's still good considering that it costs less than Lidar-based robot vacuums.
If the robot is moved to another floor, will the previously saved map be overwritten? Is it possible for the robot to start at scheduled time without being in the charger docking at start? That we can just put it in second floor (this floor does not have charger), and then it will start at scheduled time?
The robot can store only one map so the previous map will be overwritten. Not sure about the scheduling without the charging dock, never tried it, and unfortunately can't check it right now.
Hi. Great work! I wonder whether this vacuum can go under sofa? May be a good idea to add this in your future video. Also, u said this is not good for big house. What would you say is the optimal size in sq ft they this vacuum is good for?
Hi there. Normally it covers about 1 square meter per minute. On max mode, it runs for up to 40 minutes, on low power for about 110 minutes. My place is ~50 m2 of the cleaning area and it's hardly covering it all on one charge on the highest settings. As to the gap, the robot's height is 3.23 in / 8.2 cm so anything below those numbers is a no-no for it ;)
Very helpful video. But i was wondering if i want to use it for different room/floor in my house, can it map for each room/floor or it will just clean it randomly?
Thank you! You can place it in a particular room and the robot will map it out but you can't make it work in a certain room automatically as it does not save a map and doesn't really know where it should clean before it gets started. It follows a purposeful pattern which means it it not moving randomly and it also covers the whole area when cleaning but it can not clean a specific room on its own, only if you manually put it in the kitchen and close the door. Only some camera-guided and Lidar-based robots can do so.
Hi! Excellent review! Could you please let me know if the robot can be controlled without a smartphone (after the initial setup and scanning have taken place, of course). My question is - can you turn it on and command it to clean without the use of a mobile phone, but manually from a button on the robot itself?
On the website you've stated that the robot creates a map but it doesn't save it. This is somewhat perplexing as it can also resume cleaning. What happens if the robot hasn't finished mapping the entire apartment on its first cleaning? And why does it even create a map if it can't save it? Does it mean that each cleaning is like "first time" cleaning?
On the website review I pointed out, with the updates the robot can save a map. I have fixed one place where it was said the robot can't. At my place, the robot was able to create a map after one cleaning but for someone it may take more cycles. When the map is created, you can even place it upstairs and let it work there but the second map would not be saved tho when you place it downstairs again, the saved map will appear. And yes, if the robot didn't cover the map on one charge, it would resume cleaning after recharging.
OK, after using the machine for a year, it died. It was sent for repair which came back with a replacement battery. I was quite happy about that but it stopped working after 40 seconds. Fully charged the machine and it was the same. I sent it back and it was returned to me saying no problem with the unit. I took it back and it happened the same. I took a video to prove it, but it came back saying the video they copied was cut off after 15 secs. They tested the unit with a full run and it was OK. I collected it and it happened the same. I recorded it again and uploaded to Google Drive for them. Last night I was told to collect it. They gave me a brand new Roborock S6 Pure. They said it was a known problem that when it was in Turbo, it drained the battery. I said it was OK for the past year. They said it happened after using it for a while.
Hello, I have a long hair and I'm wondering if it could cause any trouble on the device such as getting stuck inside, or etc? thankyou before. God bless you!
Hi, long hair usually goes directly inside the dustbin, but some of it will be tangled around the roller brush. I've used to clean the brush of tangled hair after 2-3 full cleaning cycles. There is a cleaning tool in the box with a razor for cutting the hair.
Very straight forward review with essential features show off. Great work. But can you add more info when you speed up your video, like how many times it was speeded up? x2 x4 x8 etc.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestion. Sure, will do in my next videos. I did it in some of my videos, just sometimes I'm too lazy to add these speed labels:) Do you mean you can't see where is the real speed of the robot or there is some other reason?
@@SmartRobotReviews I just want to know the real move speed of the robot when it's in action and how long it actually took to clean up that test square
My robot vacuums are normally on the charging dock all the time. When I don't have space for another dock I just turn the vacuum off but only when I know I need it for testing the next day. But most of the times, the robots are on the dock
I'm not sure if the filter is washable. I usually just knock the filter on a trash can to pull the dust out. It should be replaced like once a year or so if you noticed worse cleaning performance.
Such an awesome video, thanks! Just a quick question, would you recommend to spend the extra money for this Xiaomi vacuum over the Eufy 11s? The mopping function is irrelevant for me since my apartment only have carpet. Thanks again!
The eufy is a random navigation robot which means it is not efficient. I would spend more and get the 1C especially considering that it's better on carpets
Is this robot working on a pattern or just random? How long does it take to clean your house and pls mention the area of your house too (the one shown on the app) I’m interested in getting this robot as my current robot takes forever to clean just 50m2 area and the ability to save a map is truly intriguing
Hi Jeffri. You can see the cleaning report at 4:14 the robot spends about 53 minutes to clean a 42 square meters area. The robot follows a purposeful back-and-forth pattern, it's not a randomly-moving machine, the MiJia does not miss a spot when cleaning and is more efficient than those that navigate randomly. Your place is not too big and the 1C should be just fine for the area, it might even finish cleaning before needs to recharge (depending on the cleaning mode) so you don't have to wait until it resumes the cycle. Does that help? :)
Hi, when I turn on the charging dock. Do I need to turn the the robot by pressing the physical button? I wish to automate this robot to run when I am at work in office and turning on/off using smart plug Eg 1pm - power on docking Station and charge robot cleaner 2pm - start cleaning house 3pm - power off
Hello! Great vid!!! Just bought the Mijia 1C because of your reviews. So it mapped the house, and i have a carpet in the living room. How do i exclude it from mopping it? Is there a way to permanently exclude the carpet area when it's mopping? Hope you answer thans sooo much!
Hi, thank you! You can set no-go zones where your carpets are located. However, it's not very convenient, because you should delete these no-go zones before vacuuming each time. Hope Xiaomi will add a separate option "no-mop zones" that is active only when the mopping pad is attached. Some more expensive robot vacuums have it.
@@SmartRobotReviews hmm the store where I'm buying from told me that the 1c can't clean under the bed without light and I should check out the mijia gen 2 instead (which I believe is the same as the mop p?) since that one has laser sensor so it doesn't need light. However, the mijia gen 2's height is more than 10cm and it can't go under my bed.
@@vmd1293 The Xiaomi MiJia 1C except for the camera does have other sensors that include a gyroscope so when it's under poor light conditions, the robot relies on those sensors. By bumping into things it understands where to clean. Navigation would not be as precise as when the light is on but the robot can work in the dark too.
@@SmartRobotReviews i just read the specs of the mijia 1c again and it says the robot can only cover area 60m2? My apartment is 75m2 in total so will that be a problem?
@@vmd1293 It depends on how much furniture do you have. On Max mode, it might not cover the whole place. The robot's speed ~1 square meter/minute. You can run it on standard mode tho.
Yes, remove the mopping attachments and the robot is in a vacuuming mode. If you want it to mop certain places, you attach the mopping plate and set a zoned cleaning
Doest the robot comes with extra mop pad? I imagine that kind of cloth won't last that long if I use it daily. Just wondering about maintenance aspect and replacement parts. Hope you can share some info on this. Thanks!
Hi there. You can see what comes in the box. Starting at 4:20 on the video. The robot only has one pad included. The cloth can be washed in the washing machine. I do with mine regularly.
@@dolyharianto Unfortunately, it can't detect when the cloth is dirty. If the floor is very dirty, it's better to mop it manually at first, and then use the robot to keep it clean.
But what of it's navigation, does it get stuck under chairs, does it wedge itself under cross arms, how does it avoid carpets or do you have to barricade the carpets off with heavy objects when mopping. Does it quickly find it's docking station or just turns off it's vacuum yo save energy and hope it's movements crosses the capture area in front of the dock?
There are so many different chairs so hard to say for sure. It depends on the chair's design and space between the chair legs. It doesn't get stuck under my chairs. You can set no-go zones in the app in the places where your carpets are located, so no needs to barricade the carpets. It's not very convenient if you plan to use the mopping function quite often, because you should delete the no-go zones every time you switch from mopping to vacuuming and vice versa. But still better than barricading the carpets. The robot builds a map and knows where the dock is located so if the dock is placed in another room, it will find it within a minute or so.
Hi, thank you very much for this amazing video. Do we have to keep the robot to the home base if we use it often? And does the home base have to be plugged in all the time after the battery is fully charged? I will be grateful if I get an answer. 🙂
Hi, glad you liked the video! Yes, the robot is supposed to be always on the dock and the charging dock should be always plugged. It will stop charging when the battery is full and the dock almost doesn't consume energy when the battery is already charged, so no needs to turn it off.
You don't need the internet connection to use this robot vacuum. It can build a map without the internet, but if you want to see the map, set no-go zones, use zoned cleaning, schedule the robot, change suction power mode and water output mode, etc, you need a wi-fi connection. The robot can be paired with the Mi Home app through a wi-fi router. Unfortunately, you can't use the mobile internet to connect the robot. Maybe only if you set a wi-fi hotspot on one phone with mobile internet, and use the app on another phone, but not sure if it will work.
Hey hey! I was wondering, do You think that vacuum would be good for a lot of pet hair? My dog loses her fur constantly and I’m a bit confused to which robot to buy
Hi! Yes, I think the robot vacuum helps a lot with pet hair. You can run it daily without any effort from your side, you just need to empty the dustbin as it will be packed with pet hair after every usage and clean the roller brush once a week or so. The 1C handles pet hair pretty well, but I would not recommend it for houses bigger than 100sq.m. as it has a relatively small battery.
Want to get this instead of dreame d9 because of the $100 price difference where I am. Does the 1c now have multi floor support? I have 2 floors. Thank you for video
Would you reccomend MiJia 1C or Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum? I don't need a mop function and I would like something to replace my old iRobot Roomba. Thank you!!
Sorry, I've never tested the Xiaomi Mi Robot (if you mean the original first Xiaomi model). The Mi Robot probably has better navigation and build more accurate map because of Lidar, but the 1C has better suction and probably cleaning performance. The Mi Robot also has a bigger battery which is very important for larger houses.
yes, it does. To make the robot avoid these zones, you can set no-go zones. The robot tho would completely avoid carpet so you'll have to run it once again without the mopping attachments.
If you live in a big house, better to choose the Roborock S5 Max. It has twice larger battery, multi floor, room recognition, larger water tank, more accurate and efficient navigation thanks to Lidar, and more other app features. In terms of cleaning performance it is very similar to the Xiaomi 1C.
Thank you for the amazing review! Is the Roborock S5 Max much better compared to the 1C? It is more than double the price and I don't know if the S5 Max is worth it when something like the 1C does such a great job.
Thanks and answering it, yes. The S5 Max has a bigger battery. I live in a small apartment and on Max mode, the 1C hardly could finish cleaning on one charge. The S5 Max has a better mopping system. In my opinion, it does slightly better as a mop. You can also customize suction level and water output for each room with the Roborock. The Xiaomi is really good for small homes and homes with minimum clogged areas. Navigation of the Roborock is better too. It supports 4 maps, the 1C saves one only. The Xiaomi also lacks carpet boost so it doesn't increase suction on carpets. All in all the Xiaomi is an amazing robot but its small battery is its flaw.
Hi there, thank you. If you do not fill the tank with water, it would not mop. If you fill the tank with water and set water level output the robot will do vacuuming and mopping simultaneously
@@SmartRobotReviews Will the robot operate without connecting to the app ? I ask because I can’t connect the app to my xiaomi air purifier but I can run the air purifier without the app
@@SmartRobotReviews Thanks for reply Still debating if I should get one because I have a xiaomi air purifier for over a year now and I couldn’t bet the app going correctly over a year ago but I see from reviews that the app update works now Just don’t want to buy it and the app doesn’t work and I lose all the features of the app The price has dropped here in Thailand to around 180 US
@@Nohoihoewa Maybe some settings on your wi-fi router are not compatible with the air purifier. Also, some Chinese devices are locked to work only in China. However, the 1C doesn't have such limitations. At least I have a Chinese version of the robot and it works in Europe. To pair the robot with the app, your wi-fi router should be properly configured, support the 2.4GHz band (5GHz is not supported), use the WPA2 encryption method (others are not supported). Most routers have these settings by default, but some may be configured differently.
Hi, am considering getting a robot vacuum for the 1st time. I live in a double storey house. I have these questions I hope u can help me answer :) Is it more feasible to get the bigger battery models such as the s5 to clean both downstairs and upstairs? Or get 2 units of 1C, one for upstairs and one for downstairs 😅 concerned abt the budget too. Or just get 1 unit of 1C and divide the cleaning times since the battery is small (clean downstairs first, charge then bring it upstairs for 2nd round). Appreciate your reply. Thanks 😊
For a double storey house I would suggest buying the Roborock S5 Max if you considering this model. It has a larger battery and saves multiple maps, works great in the dark, and more accurate in terms of navigation. You can move it manually on the second floor when you need to. The S5 Max is just better in every way and Roborock has better customer support too. So if the higher price of the Roborock isn't an issue for you, I would recommend the S5 Max.
It slows down when detecting walls or furniture and slightly touches the furniture with its soft rubber bumper, but not too hard to damage the furniture.
Thanks to this review I just bought one (also I desperately need a bot vacuum cleaner). The booklet is in Chinese but from what I can surmise the bot can't run at night or in a dark place, is that true? If true, this means it can't go under beds which is disappointing.
Anyways, this thing just finished vacuuming my living room and boy it packs a punch. I used the strong setting because the room is quite dusty and it cleans very well. Totally worth it I think, beats finding time in my busy schedule or trying to get a trusted day-maid to clean it. The one I bought speaks in Chinese so I had to do some guessing when installing the app and pairing my phone with the bot. But it's no problem, the app is in english and the booklet has a lot of pictures so I could manage somehow in the end.
The 1C has an additional sensor (camera on the top), so it builds a more accurate map, has better navigation, and allows you to set no-go zones and use zoned cleaning.
It is pretty good for pet hair, definitely not worse than the Roborock S5. Just keep in mind that the Xiaomi has a much weaker battery so it is good for small homes while the Roborock has a twice bigger battery and lasts longer on one charge. Also, the S5 has more accurate and efficient navigation since it uses Lidar instead of a camera.
@@SmartRobotReviews Thanks for response! But I was also wondering about the Xiaomi mop p, it has lidar and bigger battery. So that could be great budget alternative? Because roborock s50 in my country is quite expensive but the house is big, around 60 square metres. So do you think mop p is worth the extra over c1?
In my opinion, the Roborock S5 is better than the Xiaomi Mop P, at least in terms of cleaning performance, build quality, app stability, navigation efficiency. The S5 just feels like a finished well-supported product. Also, the Mop P shows worse cleaning performance on carpets compared to the Roborock S5 and Mijia 1C, even though Xiaomi claims it has 2150 Pa of suction. But it's a hard choice considering that the Mop P is cheaper and has some features that the S5 lacks. Also, because the Mop P uses Lidar, it has more accurate and precise navigation than the 1C.
Not sure. The Dreame F9 is identical to the 1C, yet has 5200 mAh battery. But I have no idea if you can use the battery from the Dreame F9 in the Mijia 1C.
@@SmartRobotReviewsDo you happen to have a link to a Dreame F9 battery? The product appears to be new and I have not yet found any compatible batteries for sale
Have been using this since April 2020, almost daily. Now I need to replace the mop, filter, side brush .... Having a hard time to find these.... Got it delivered by sellers from China twice on Amazon which turned out not to fit on this specific model.... Anyone has any info on where I can get them?
I just tried to turn off my wi-fi network before the scheduled time and the robot started cleaning. So you need wifi connection only to set the scheduling.
Great review! Just a question, once it maps the whole house for the first time, can it then be used in dark rooms (like a bathroom with no windows)? Thanks!
Yes, you can use it even in complete darkness when the map is already created. It has a gyroscope sensor and optical motion tracking sensor underneath so it knows its position even in darkness, just navigate not as accurately as with light.
Hi, what're the major considerations I should have between choosing this over the Mop P? I can't think of a reason to justify the more expensive and bulky Mop P
Hi, the Mop P is slightly better at mopping but it also spends more time as it needs to go over the spot twice. If you need room cleaning, the Mop P would be a better choice. Navigation. Because of the Lidar the Mop P is better at navigation but you might not notice it if you never had a Lidar-guided robot. As a day-to-day experience, the 1C performs better in my opinion (not to mention mopping but it does a good job in this area too).
The manufacturer says you can't use any detergents in the water tank since it can damage the water filters inside the tank. But I know some users add a bit of cleaning solution inside the water tank and it works without issues. So you can try it for your own risk. Or add it on the mopping pad, this is probably a safe method.
Hi. Great reviews. I am comparing different robots and find your videos very useful. I have a couple of questions: 1. Can i set up no-go areas and virtual walls using the app (like in the MI Pro)? 2. Is there any significant difference with the Roborock S5 in terms of perfomance when cleaning carpets? Thank you!
Hi, thanks for watching! 1. Yes, it got this feature later via firmware update, when the video was already published. 2. In terms of performance, I don't think it performs worse than the S5 Max. Just keep in mind that the 1C has a weaker battery compared to the Roborock so it can't work too long on higher suction mode (which is needed mostly for carpets).
On max mode it works only for 40 minutes. It cleans about 10sqft per minute so count how much time would it take for the robot to clean your space. I always recommend it for small homes or apartments as the battery is small
The Mijia 1C is guided by a gyroscope and a camera, the Mi robot has Lidar. Lidar is more accurate and efficient. It builds a high-precise map, can be ordered to clean a specific room and has a different Y-shaped mopping path. The 1C cleans better imho. The Mi is better at mopping but the 1C does the job good as well.
Hi hpw about compare to xiaomi mi robot cleaner. Home filter dust sterilize 1800pa automatic sweeping? I no need mop i only need sweeping function which one nore strong suction? Thanks
This one has stronger suction (2500Pa) than the original Mi Robot. But the Mi Robot has a larger battery and more accurate navigation since it uses Lidar. Unfortunately, the original Mi Robot is an old model, so I don't plan to review it.
@@SmartRobotReviews ok i see i got this vacuum free with my samsung s21 pre order so i was curious about a lot, do you recommend standard or strong for carpet? Or just turbo? Because i have a larger home i guess and using turbo might take forever Another thing this is something i am not sure about in general when it comes to robot vacuums, if i sent the vacuum back to the dock while cleaning (so it has not been everywhere in the house), and i resend it for cleaning, will it explore new areas? And thanks for the quick reply haha
@@eek8605 It should clean carpets well enough even on standard mode. But of course, if possible, better to use higher suction modes (turbo, max) on carpets for better results. Also, you can use zoned cleaning to clean carpets on max mode. If you manually send the robot to the dock, it will start the new job next time you start cleaning. But if it automatically returns to the dock when the battery is low, it will continue cleaning after recharging from the spot where it stopped. Since you have a large house, to create the initial map, I would suggest running it on the lowest power setting.
@@SmartRobotReviews i am not sure you had this issue when testing ??i have reset my robot, because when it gets stuck it loses its map or it goes for 3 runs trying to map but just keeps going to the same spots, so hopefully it gets better, i guess we will see tomorrow.... because i like your idea i will just use zoned for carpets :)
@@eek8605 I used to prepare my apartment before cleaning. I pick up all the things where it might get stuck, especially when creating the map for the first time. Did you receive a new firmware with room recognition? I got it today, so now it can clean a specific room. You can clean the rooms where you have carpets on max power while other rooms on standard mode.
Hi Luca, the robot does not have a room cleaning option however, you can set it (a room you want to clean) as a zoned cleaning by drawing a rectangle on the map, and let the robot do the job.
Does anyone knows how to make it work in a house with two floors? I dont mind moving the vacuum, but does the app support that? Should I create two "homes" in the app?
Unfortunately, you can't create two "homes" in the app and can't save two maps. You can disable the map saving option, so the robot will recreate the map each time you use it. But in this case, you will not be able to use zoned cleaning or no-go zones.
Can i command the robot to clean specific area ? I know that the pro version it can specific room. But all i need is rectangular shape area , because all my rooms are rectangular, so I don't need to pay extra money for pro version, just for cleaning specific room.
Not sure, but hope I'll have an opportunity to test the G1. I don't think it will beat the 1C. The G1 is a budget model, it uses gyroscope for navigation purposes which is very inaccurate navigation technology compared to the camera-based navigation in the 1C. Because of the limitations of the gyroscope technology, the G1 will not save the created map, it will never get zoned cleaning feature and no-go zones.
Hi there, most definitely the MiJia 1C. Doesn't struggle in tight places, knows its position and never get lost compared to my experience with the Dibea. And cleans better as well.
I just received mine, vacuum is perfect but mopping, just does the same wile wetting the floor, on your video it seems to do little forward and backward movements to clean better, is there something to activate ?
In the video, I run the robot in a small rectangle where the stains were located, that's why it looks like the robot moved forward and backward. Yes, it's basically wetting the floor, and it can't remove old stubborn stains, so you still need to mop your floor manually from time to time. However, it is still helpful, since you don't need to mop the floor manually as often as usual and it helps to keep your floor clean if you use it every day or a few times per week.
Every robot vacuum has cliff sensors nowadays so we do not mention this on every video. The cliff sensors prevent a robot from falling down the stairs and the Xiaomi MiJia 1C is no exception.
Hi just go this vacuum but the vacuum keeps turning around in one place and does not move further around the room. Would you know what is causing this?
Hi, never heard about such issues with the 1C, maybe a defective device. Check wheels and sensors, try to place it on a different surface. Also, let it run for a minute, it should alert an error if it can't move.
@@SmartRobotReviews Thank you for the reply. I have since done a few more experiments. If I manually press the front bumper while it's cleaning the vacuum would sometimes move about a meter in some random direction and try to discover the room more, but very soon it'll go back into it's tight circling path :(. If I don't do anything, in a 10min run, it can literally only move 1meter away from the charging dock. Also tried to send it back to the charging dock from about 1.5 meters away but it failed to find the dock. I'm not sure if there's issues with both the sensors and the turning motion, maybe it can't get the turning angle right :( and the sensors in the front bumper might be bad or the charging station isn't signaling right.
Hello! Thank you for the video. I have a question for you. As you mentioned on your blog, the robot breaks the house into seperatw rooms, and you said that it can clean specific rooms. Now my question is, how do I order it to clean one specific room instead of the whole house. I made the smart map, and everything works flawlessly, but I couldn't find an option to clean specific rooms. Thank you!
Hi there, tap on the rooms you want to clean and then start the robot. Should work if the map is already broken into separate rooms (ie the rooms have different colors).
@@SmartRobotReviews I tried it, but when I mark off a specific room and then start the cleanup, the designation will dissapear, and instead of one room, it will clean the whole house.

This is the review I needed, not an unboxing or lengthy talk dialogue. Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed!
I've probably watched this video like 10 times already since last year lol & finally i got one for myself today :) Thank you so much

@@SmartRobotReviews one question real quick, is the HEPA filter within the dustbin washable?
Yes, the filter is washable. But from my experience, the filter lasts longer if you don't wash it.
@@SmartRobotReviews wow that suits my laziness. Thank you, much appreciated for the answer
@Smart Robot Reviews
Did you compare both ways before? What is the sign of the HEPA filter needs to be teplaced?

Great to hear! Hope you'll like it as much as I do :)
We already bought this a week ago. But stumbled on this video and couldn't stop watching; review was just too good. Welldone.
Thanks ☺️
@wise guyfor sure and more cheaper, its also includes mop the other one no. Xiaomi Brand its making good quality products at Low prices.
@wise guy better the suction its 2500 the irobot its máx 1800 or 2000 I think.
240 square feet are 22 sq.m. That's the size of a studio. And it takes 1.5 hr to clean it?? That's very slow. It does not worth it.
Great review. You should have a walk on top of the debris after pouring it on the carpet to see how good was the suction.
Thanks! Good idea, I'll try it next time!
thanks for the deep review. i'm planning to buy this product because it recently launched officially in my country Indonesia.
1 question. can we control the robot to mop only or to vacuum only?
Hi there, good question! You can make the robot to mop and vacuum at the same time and also just vacuum but you can't shut suction off if needed.
Thank you so much!
So one map or multiples?
Is it a definitive update?
Thank you
The robot saves one map. Not sure whether it will be able to store more or not
awesome!!! I just bought it last week after watching your video and based on your feedback. Can't wait to try it out!
Thanks so much!
May I know how can I save the map? Or the feature is not longer there due to the firmware bug?
Thank you. I was looking for it.
I have one too.
It is so wonderful that i forgot how i survival without it
Same here. Since I got my first robot vacuum there was no turning back
Thank you for this nice review.
Thanks.
Imho the MiJia 1C is just best in class :)

Hi, I used the highest suction mode in this test.
Wish your video had a hair cleanup test, both from carpets and bare floors.
Awesome review!
Which do you think is the best budget robot vacuum? I already owned s5 max and it's a beast. I wanna get one for my basement so i don't really need mopping feature. I still cannot decide between eufy robovac s11, xiaomi mijia 1s or mop pro version
I also prefer one that has virtual wall and intelligent cleaning pattern (not random) features

Is the robot vacuuming and washing at the same time?
Yes, it can mop and vacuum at the same time
Hi. I just got my vacuum robot. How do I get the robot to vacuum my kitchen area which floor is higher than the rest of the house?
Hi, you can try to build a ramp as in this Reddit post: www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/comments/itvo7c/successful_test_scenario_with_ramp_for_roborock_s6/
I will try to create a ramp for it to go up into my kitchen. Thank you
Of all the robo vacuum u use. Which is ur number one? How much is it? The mapping of the area accurate?
The best one is probably the newest Roborock S6 MaxV. But it's an expensive robot vacuum, so if I would look for something more affordable, I would choose the Roborock S5 Max. In the budget segment (under $250) I think the Mijia 1C is the best. Regarding the Mijia 1C, right now it costs $240 on Gearbest, the mapping is not as accurate as in robot vacuums with Lidar, but it's still good considering that it costs less than Lidar-based robot vacuums.
Hi,very good review ,will it works without wifi connection pls?if not which model can?I have some areas without wifi or poor connection
Sure, it will work without a wifi connection, but you will not be able to use the app and control the robot when it is not in the wifi coverage area.
Yes, you can do it but you will miss zoned cleaning and virtual wall features as well as the ability to schedule the robot
@@SmartRobotReviews Fantastic, thank you! Just ordered it after reading your reply!
Hi,
long hair usually goes directly inside the dustbin, but some of it will be tangled around the roller brush. I've used to clean the brush of tangled hair after 2-3 full cleaning cycles. There is a cleaning tool in the box with a razor for cutting the hair.

Great review. I just wonder, can the robot save map of 2 floor levels?
Hi thanks. Unfortunately, it doesn't
Hi do you leave the machine charging even when it's fully changed or do you turn the charger off?
My robot vacuums are normally on the charging dock all the time. When I don't have space for another dock I just turn the vacuum off but only when I know I need it for testing the next day. But most of the times, the robots are on the dock
After the vacuum is charged finish, do you switch the docking port switch power source off or just let it be?
I let it be. Never shut the charging dock down :)
Hi there, does it automatically mop after vacuum, or it has options or modes to be selected manually?
Hi, it mops and vacuums simultaneously when the mopping pad is attached.
Hi, for the filter on the dust bin, it should be changed or we can wash it?
@@SmartRobotReviews thank you very much for answering my question.. really appreciate it! :)
Hi, when I turn on the charging dock. Do I need to turn the the robot by pressing the physical button?
I wish to automate this robot to run when I am at work in office and turning on/off using smart plug
Eg
1pm - power on docking Station and charge robot cleaner
2pm - start cleaning house
3pm - power off
Yes, you have to turn on and off the robot so it wouldn't drain the battery
Sorry let me rephrase... Will the vaccum robot be power on straight away upon switching on the docking Station?
Does it go back to its charging spot when the battery is low?
Sure, it returns to the dock automatically and if the job was not finished, it will return to finish the cleaning job after recharging.
Some more expensive robot vacuums have it.
can it clean under a bed where there is almost no light?
Yes, the robot would rely on a gyroscope sensor and would act like gyro-guided ones
Can you use it only as a vacuum function only? If so how do you use it? I still want the mop function on certain places of the house.
Yes, remove the mopping attachments and the robot is in a vacuuming mode. If you want it to mop certain places, you attach the mopping plate and set a zoned cleaning
Hi does it do a good job cleaning the corners?
Hi! The 1C leaves a small spot (5x5 cm) in the corner uncleaned since the side brush can't reach deep in the corner.

Sure, it will work without the dock. But the second map won't be saved since it can store only one map.
@@SmartRobotReviews amazing, thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the awesome video. Are we able to use our phone via cellular or do we need wifi? (After the mapping is complete)
Smart Robot Reviews thanks a ton :)

@@SmartRobotReviews ok. Leaning towards the d9 more now. Cheers!
Thank you!! Tough choice for similar price :)
Does it mop at the same time while vaccum the carpet? Any setting ?
yes, it does. To make the robot avoid these zones, you can set no-go zones. The robot tho would completely avoid carpet so you'll have to run it once again without the mopping attachments.
Hi, would you still recommend this xiaomi 1C as the best budget robot cleaner?
It's one of the best, bet depending on your needs. For example, I would not recommend it for large houses because of the small battery.
Smart Robot Reviews then should i go for roborock S5 max or S6
If you live in a big house, better to choose the Roborock S5 Max. It has twice larger battery, multi floor, room recognition, larger water tank, more accurate and efficient navigation thanks to Lidar, and more other app features. In terms of cleaning performance it is very similar to the Xiaomi 1C.
I’m moving in to a 2-story house. Can i move it upstairs? i mean is it resetting the floor plan they’ve been using for my first floor?
It will not reset your main floor map, but the second map won't be saved.
Hello, i just bought xiaomi robot mijia 1c,
if the long black sensor on the front of the front has blisters, does it interfere with performance?
No, I don't think it may cause any problems with navigation or performance.
@@SmartRobotReviews thank you for your quick and very informative answer! :) I will go for the S5 Max I think.
@@SmartRobotReviews hi can I ask how big is your apartment? Mine is 1076 square feet, not sure if the 1C can finish cleaning

The price has dropped here in Thailand to around 180 US
@@Nohoihoewa Maybe some settings on your wi-fi router are not compatible with the air purifier.
I have these questions I hope u can help me answer :)
Is it more feasible to get the bigger battery models such as the s5 to clean both downstairs and upstairs?

Hows the visual sensor? Does it hits your furniture?
Hi, as far as I know, it works in the dark but navigation is not as accurate since it uses only the gyroscope sensor to determine its position.
What is the main difference between this model and the Xiaomi vacuum mop essential apart from the suction power?
The 1C has an additional sensor (camera on the top), so it builds a more accurate map, has better navigation, and allows you to set no-go zones and use zoned cleaning.
Hi! Is 1C good with cat hair or i should consider the roborock s50?
@@SmartRobotReviews Okey, thanks for the reply. I think I will go with the roborock s5.
Hi, how does this compare to the xiaomi mi robot vacuum mop 25012, or are they the same unit? Thanks in advance :)
Hi, it's the same model. The 1C is a Chinese version name, the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop is an international name.
@@SmartRobotReviews thanks a bunch mate ♥️
Do you think it is possible (unofficially) to replace the battery with a larger capacity battery?
Sorry, I have no idea where to buy the Dreame battery.
Hi, can I just choose option either to vacuum or to mop only? Would want to do it step by step.
No, unfortunately, you can't turn off suction completely, so it will mop and vacuum at the same time. But you can choose low power mode when mopping.
Have been using this since April 2020, almost daily. Now I need to replace the mop, filter, side brush .... Having a hard time to find these.... Got it delivered by sellers from China twice on Amazon which turned out not to fit on this specific model.... Anyone has any info on where I can get them?
Check this store: www.aliexpress.com/item/4000909689434.html Not sure if they sell original parts, but at least they have a lot of orders and reviews.
after set it daily 9AM to vacuum. if I switch off the wifi. the robot can auto run daily 9AM?
I just tried to turn off my wi-fi network before the scheduled time and the robot started cleaning. So you need wifi connection only to set the scheduling.
How would you setup a second room that has its own cleaning schedule?
You can not setup room cleaning with the Xiaomi MiJia 1C
Great review! Just a question, once it maps the whole house for the first time, can it then be used in dark rooms (like a bathroom with no windows)? Thanks!
Yes, you can use it even in complete darkness when the map is already created. It has a gyroscope sensor and optical motion tracking sensor underneath so it knows its position even in darkness, just navigate not as accurately as with light.
@@SmartRobotReviews Thank you! :D
Just compared the Mop P and Mjia 1C in this video, hope it helps: ruclips.net/video/y_ZpHxLJVf0/видео.html
Can the robot do only sweeping? And after finish sweep the floor, then O can continue the mopping? Or sweeping and mopping done in the same time?
It has two modes: only vacuum (the mopping pad removed) and simultaneous vacuum & mop mode (with the mopping pad attached).
@@SmartRobotReviews can we use/fill desinfectant in the water tank
The manufacturer says you can't use any detergents in the water tank since it can damage the water filters inside the tank. But I know some users add a bit of cleaning solution inside the water tank and it works without issues. So you can try it for your own risk. Or add it on the mopping pad, this is probably a safe method.
@@SmartRobotReviews thank you so much
Hi. Great reviews. I am comparing different robots and find your videos very useful. I have a couple of questions:
Hi, may i know this mijia 1c can clean 1000sft area in one time? Is it enough battery?
On max mode it works only for 40 minutes. It cleans about 10sqft per minute so count how much time would it take for the robot to clean your space. I always recommend it for small homes or apartments as the battery is small
Is it possible to see the video that the camera is recording?
What do you mean?
@@SmartRobotReviews sorry. The camera on the top
Is for the mapping, right? But could be possible to access the camera to see what’s goin on?
@@FalaOpen. Ah no, it is only to help the gyroscope sensor to create a more accurate map :)
Love this review!! which is better the MiJia 1C or Xiaomi Mi Robot-Vacuum Mop P (STYJ02YM)
@@SmartRobotReviews Thank you :-)

Good video! Ordered!
Hope you like it!
Hi, is there a virtual boundarirs or no-go lines for 1C?
Liked this video 😀
Hi,
Yes, it has no-go zone feature in the app. This is a new feature added a few months ago, so I didn't mention it in the video.
So the feature wasn't available when you were making this video, was it? Did the robot get a firmware update?
Yes, this feature was not available when I making the video and was added later via a firmware update.
Should I remove mop when i want to full clean house because of carpets?
Yes, the mopping pad should be removed when you run it on carpets.
Hi! What do you so the robot doesn't mop the carpets? Is it possible?
Hi, you can set no-go zones in the app where your carpets are located.
Question? Can it be used over USA?
Sure, it can be used in any country.
@@SmartRobotReviews Thank you!
Does it come back to the charching station when running out of battery?
Sure, and if it didn't finish the job on one charge, it will automatically continue cleaning after recharging.
I was wondering on your carpet tests what speed were you guys running the vacuum on?
Sorry, do you mean the suction power mode or how much I sped up the video? I ran all the tests in max power mode.
@@SmartRobotReviews ok i see i got this vacuum free with my samsung s21 pre order so i was curious about a lot, do you recommend standard or strong for carpet? Or just turbo? Because i have a larger home i guess and using turbo might take forever
Another thing this is something i am not sure about in general when it comes to robot vacuums, if i sent the vacuum back to the dock while cleaning (so it has not been everywhere in the house), and i resend it for cleaning, will it explore new areas?
Its possible to send in one room directly and work only that room?
Yes, the 1C allows drawing a rectangle zone to clean. I didn't show this in the video because this feature was added later via a firmware update.
Do you plan to review the Xiaomi G1 model? I'm wondering if the newer G1 will beat 1C?
Not sure, but hope I'll have an opportunity to test the G1. I don't think it will beat the 1C. The G1 is a budget model, it uses gyroscope for navigation purposes which is very inaccurate navigation technology compared to the camera-based navigation in the 1C. Because of the limitations of the gyroscope technology, the G1 will not save the created map, it will never get zoned cleaning feature and no-go zones.
Hi..Which better mijia 1c or dibea gt200?
Hi there, most definitely the MiJia 1C. Doesn't struggle in tight places, knows its position and never get lost compared to my experience with the Dibea. And cleans better as well.
Thank you 🤗
Underrated channel. Good review.
Thank you, glad you think so!
What about thick carpets or shaggy ones?Does it stuck or does the job?
I don't think it will work on a shaggy or high pile carpet. It works on my medium pile carpet but probably this is the thickest carpet it can handle.
@@SmartRobotReviews ok thanks
Will this fall down the stairs? It doesn't mention that it can be put on the second floor without issues
Do you run it on a carpet or on hard floor? Is the carpet/floor black or dark?
@@SmartRobotReviews light colored hard floor, with wood patterns. Ran in the morning so there’s sunlight :(.
Looks like a defective device...
are you using china version or global version?
I'm using the Chinese version
@@SmartRobotReviews Oh my bad. It worked, I just misunderstood something. Thank you so much for your help!
Does it move randomly when vacuuming?
It has a gyroscope and a camera and follows a purposeful navigation pattern.
