    Podcast interviews: We had a goal to set up 10 Podcasts per month. Also, it was important to appear in the same podcasts where our competitors participated. What we learned:
    1. We checked our competitors' backlinks related to podcasts. With the help of Ahrefs, we had a list of 47 potential podcasts in less than two hours.
    2. Through outreaching, we did an A/B test.
    In A we said that we are Omnisend, we are growing fast and we want to share our company's success story.
    In B we presented our CEO's story as the main topic.
    We got better results by pitching a person, not a company.
    3. For some podcasts interviews, we waited a few months, for some podcasts releases, we waited 3 months. So don't expect the podcasts to be published immediately.
    P.S. It's a good idea to reach out to agencies for podcasts.
    P.S.S. I want to win a session.

      (I am not directly referring to your comment here.) As an online business/digital marketing podcaster myself, I'm sorry to say that every time I get a particular type of interview pitches, I a) seriously consider deleting the email or b) delete it immeditately.
      As Ahrefs' video tutorials and blog posts have taught us many times, people outreaching others shouldn't focus on what they *want* but, instead, on what they can offer to the person/their audience they're getting in touch with.
      So from my perspective (again, the person getting an interview pitch), I ask myself "how could this offer benefit my listeners/readers/followers/subscribers? Could it really?". Whenever the answer is unclear or negative, I know what I should do.

      yeah, it's totally more natural to pitch yourself as a human being rather than a company.. I mean humans want to hear stories of other humans :)

      @@redhotmustang +1.. no one is interested to promote your company, but if you have a great story to tell or valuable advice to share (backed up with some credibility) landing podcast interviews is not hard

    • @redhotmustang
      @redhotmustang 4 года назад +1

      @@ahrefspodcast, exaclty.
      Nevertheless, again, I still think the most important thing here is that people pitching podcasters shouldn't write something like "Our company *wants* to XYZ on your show" or "I *want* to XYZ on your podcast". (I.e., pitchers shouldn't try to use someone's show to promote theirselves or their companies.)
      Rather they should go with something like "I've listened to your podcast which talks about ABC -- I did it because I have a genuine personal interest on the subject.
      In fact, I happen to have a similar experience running my business where I did X, and Y and Z. I had great results and got really experienced doing that [specific kind of activity/strategy/tactic]. I've learned plenty of valuable lessons and tips.
      Here's a suggestion for your show, if I may, you could talk about this other perspective on the subject ABC and maybe try to interview Person A and Person B. That would make great episodes!
      Btw, If you'd like to read/listen to it, here's my story [link to articles/podcast episodes].
      Anyway, great to meet you and if you ever feel like I have something useful to share, I'd be happy to answer to your questions and offer my expertise in whatever way you like best."
      (I.e., pitchers should try to help the podcast and his/her show.)

    Though not a custom font per se, a client once bought a cool font they intended to use for branding. They didn't really appreciate the value of it, so they never made much out of it. As for custom featured images for blog articles, I think this is important but not always practical for small business owners who are not artistic or who are on a shoestring budget.

    • @ahrefspodcast
      @ahrefspodcast  4 года назад

      buying a custom font is also quite good, but designing one from the scratch takes things to a whole new level :)

    Awesome video again, Tim!
    About featured images, we`re using custom dimensions for all social media - 600x315. What are the dimensions which you use in Ahrefs for different social media and your blog?
    Author information is a good idea and I`ll work on implementation on our blog as well.
    About Product Launches depends on the update as you mention, Typically, we at Brosix write news about the update and share it on our social media channels, and send it to our free users, if it`s a big update we send it to our clients by email, sometimes, we do a press releases.
    Actually, after watching your video, we`re going to implement a live chat on our control panel, because we`ve been planned to do it, but we never implemented, but as you mentioned on the video, sometimes contact person, and the administrator in our case are different people and this will add value to us.

    So At Userpilot this is what we suggest our customers:
    1 - Major release: Popup modals
    2 - Minor release: Slide outs
    3 - Micro-release: hotpsot tooltips.
    4 - We also have a checklist feature that we recommend if there's entirely new update.
    I love it how you add product adoption and feature adoption.
    Some ideas, I am also recommending here:
    userpilot.com/blog/improve-feature-adoption-saas/
    Like use - signup page for a release (drift does that)
    Use something like beamer or headway to share announcements
    What do you think?

    • @ahrefspodcast
      @ahrefspodcast  4 года назад

      using signup page for the release is a bit strange to me as I believe people want to get past the signup page asap and don't care what's there. But I may be wrong. It would be interesting to see some data from a few different companies who do that.

    • @aazarshad1192

      Drift and Drip are doing this. I’d suggest to test it. I don’t have the data but too often it grabs my attention.

      that font only works well for logo purposes.. if you write headlines with it and such it won't be very pleasant to read :)

    Hey Tim, there is a 4th category to think about for product launches. That is influencers/reviewers/affiliates. Whenever you release a new feature or change your UI, it affects other people who are talking about your product. Our reviews of your tools or content in our courses are prime examples. We always strive to keep these up to date. Would be great to have some forewarning about such changes. I couldn't find a changelog on your site either, to keep track of this. Do you guys have any idea how this side of things could be improved?

    • @ahrefspodcast
      @ahrefspodcast  4 года назад

      amazing comment, Mark! I actually thought about "influencer marketing" quite a lot, but somehow I only thought of all influencers, without specifically isolating the group of "our advocates." Do you think we should do manual outreach every time or maybe we can start a "special" email list and offer all our "business friends" to subscribe?

    • @MarkWebster1
      @MarkWebster1 4 года назад

      @@ahrefspodcastI'd be happy with whatever. I think just being thought of in the process will go a long way towards helping us keep content up to date. The more notice, the better too.

      no :) but to give you one example where it's super common is videogame industry. they would often create custom font to use in the game and that adds to the overall user experience
