Freddie was a beautiful human being

Brian Roger and John were beautiful human beings and such good friends to Freddie....they surrounded him and protected him. They were completely gutted by finding out how sick he was, but they couldn't show that to him.

My respect really grew when I found out just much they cared and loved him. True friends.

I think everyone who knew Freddie best made a decision to treat Freddie as normal as possible. Mary Austin even said that Freddie would get mad if anyone became emotional around him. So I'm glad the one who loved him were there for him during his last days.

My respect and admiration for the three surviving members of Queen grew when I found out how much they stood by Freddie's side when he needed it the most.

Only now as an adult I am beginning to appreciate everything Freddie stood for as an artist. I was very young when he passed away so I didn't comprehend the magnitude of his talent.
Now I do comprehend his talent. And he's up there with the greats. The likes of Michael Jackson, George Michael, Elton John and David Bowie.
I would love to have seen a duet between him and George Michael. That would have been something.

@@ym2047 I referenced Elton John in the context that Freddy was as talented and legendary as Sir Elton. I am well aware that he's alive and well.

This video should be titled "Freddie Mercury's truest and best friends forever". QUEEN did Freddie proud. The tributes, confidentiality, protecting his legacy, the movie, (Rami Malek was soulful, thoughtful, and a magnificent choice to portray Freddie Mercury.). Sing with the angels Freddie. Rest peacefully. Your bandmates got your back, here.

I have been in love with Freddie since the 70's. I am very vocal about his magnificent abitities. Best rock legend ever. However, the longer he's gone the more people make him to be saintly, which he wasn't. Part of his attraction was how he went out there and didn't give a sh*t about opinions of him. Remember that back in the 70's and 80's his antics off stage rivaled his off stage antics. Nobody and I mean NOBODY said he was an angel. Even Jim Hutton (in an interview) alluded to the fact that Freddie was still promiscuous during their relationship. Many of his lovers left because he was unfaithful, they couldn't deal with Freddie as he was. This is also stated several times in interviews. David Wig was a close friend and states this after Freddies death. He was also impatient and threw temper tantrums in Queen's early days. Watch some videos and read some interview to substantiate my words. With that said we don't need to idolize him as a saint. We need to keep his legacy alive by acknowleding the fact that he was generous, feeling, caring, and lived how he wanted. Let's celebrate the magical man.

Its funny and yet sad that Freddie had to encourage Roger to grab his neck and shake him as maybe Roger was afraid to hurt him...that Freddie is such a trooper!

LISTEN, FELLOW QUEEN FANS--MAKE NO MISTAKE--THE OTHER THREE GUYS WERE FREDDY'S BACK UP BOYS. I KNOW THEY WERE TECHNICALLY EQUAL. BUT FREDD, LIKE MOST LEAD SINGERS, WANTED ALL THE ATTENTION. AND HE WANTED THINGS DONE HIS WAY. AFTER THEY STARTED MAKING MONEY, I THINK BRIAN, ESPECIALLY, JUST GAVE UO AND WENT ALONG. THEY GOT AS MUCH ATTENTION AS THEY COULD BUT THEY JUST WENT ALONG WITH THE "FREDDIE MERCURY SHOW"! IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE ALL THEIR SOLO EFFORTS WERE DISASTROUS COMPARED TO WHAT THEY ACCOMPLISHED WITH QUEEN. BUT TRUST ME, IF FREDDIE HAD REALLY THOUGHT HE COULD MAKE IT ALONE LIKE MICHAEL WITHOUT THE JACKSON 5 AND DIANA WITHOUT THE SUPREMES--HE WOULD HAVE DIED ALONE. DAMN! THAT'S SO SAD TO SAY BUT I BELIEVE IT'S TRUE.
