The Walter in the back of the apt was after he faked his own death and killed the inmate. He became victim 11 and he had the blood of his previous victims go through him to become the assumption and make his evil world and dragged Joseph into his world. Joseph failed and it took 2 years until Henry became involved. That’s my understanding from the crimson tome. I loved this game. The clues you got about him in silent hill 2 was good.
What an excellent playthrough. I've always enjoyed this particular Silent Hill, and now I appreciate it even further. Thank you for coming back to this title and showing us what a great game it is.
every time you went "i should really go back and save," i got SO nervous, lol. i'm glad you enjoyed the game way more this time around! i always felt kinda sad that you didn't like it on your first playthrough. sh4 is a really underrated game, cheap sound effects and wonky controls aside, and i think people are finally starting to appreciate it. also, i'm itching to play through the game myself, but i'm very intimidated by cynthia. i imagine i'll get around to it eventually, but it's been literally 15 years since i regularly played console games, so i feel like i have to work my way up to it with some easier games first, lol. (easier meaning probably sh3, since i think that's the game i have with the most straightforward controls.) i definitely credit you as one of the big reasons i'm finally getting back into console gaming, though, so thanks for that!
SH4 was my first SH. I remembered thinking that this was an absolut joy. At the beginning, I thought it was a little weird but then I got really into it. I still can remember how I felt when Cynthia died. So I started playing the SH backwards, 3,2,1, back to back. I felt I was descending into madness. SH2 is my favourite. Nice to relive the memories Gab.
Wow, the descent to madness, I feel you! I felt really weird when I finished the 3rd game, with all that disturbing imagery at the church level.... But I really liked it cause it wasn't meaningless horror, it was art! Add the compelling and beautiful Yamaoka music to the mix and we have an instant classic!
Thank you for this! I loved playing this game when I was a kid and it's been hard finding an enjoyable Let's Play to follow along and get that nostalgia! Loved your commentary and observations! I know you did this 2 years ago but I really enjoyed it!
walter was there the whole time??? amazing playthrough, it also seems you genuinely enjoyed it :D i hope you do the rest of the silent hills or older classic stuff!
Thank you for this playthrough, those retro games have something in them, maybe it's their - sometimes imperfection(no patches and stuff), maybe it's the fact that they have more "life" in them - feels like more dedication was put into making them. Like back then it was more than just business and more of a passion. Or maybe it's just the nostalgia factor. Whatever it is, I'll always enjoy those games. Thanks to your commentary even more, you are such a cool person. I also find myself noticing things i haven't all those years ago. Tl;Dr you can't go wrong with classics + Gabs combo! Appreciate it and looking forward to the next!
Thanks for playing Gab! It's actually my fave SH game so it was a lot of fun seeing someone change their opinion on it. :) It's such a good (and sad) story.
Thank you for playing the game, this game was one of my childhood favorites. This is the game that actually got me into Silent Hill in the first place, so I never understood the hate for the game, personally. I absolutely loved the themes and the feeling of being stuck inside your own house isolated kind of thing. I wouldn't have minded it being it's own entry, but it being a Silent Hill game, it REALLY got me into the lore and history of the series. I never actually finished the game myself, to be honest, it got really difficult for the child-me so I've only seen the ending on videos. But it's so cool to see someone play it in this day and year AND enjoy it. Fun fact, I originally found your channel through Phasmophobia videos, but truly got into the channel through this series. Keep up the good work!
I wanted to educate myself on Silent Hill since I love the first movie so much, so I have been watching your play throughs (1, 2 and 4 so far) and I am really enjoying them! I think this might have been my favourite but I loved them all. And I lost busting out the old PS from time to time too ;)
when I played this game way back, I had no idea about how to get rid of the hauntings in the room, so you can imagine my apartment was... a f*ing nightmare by the end of the game XD i had SO many hauntings going on simultaniously, that I am very surprised I somehow still beat the game... and got the "mother" ending as far as I remember.
Glad you managed to get the best ending of this game. Congrats, Gab. The theme playing in that Joseph cutscene is Tender Sugar and you could also hear part of Your Rain in the ending cutscene with Eileen. Even if this game is not as good as the rest of the main ones (1-4), it still has some things that makes it terrifying and worthy to play again. Good playthrough, girl :)
Just wanna say thank you so much for playing Gab and to the rest of the fans for being so nice. I’ve never played any of the silent hill games but watching you play has made me really love them. This fan base is so nice that I feel like part of something big despite me not leaving comments that often. Can’t wait for the next games you play (Anyone else loving her Ghost play through and hopes she does the other bioshocks) and hope everyone else is as hyped as I am. This really made my day. Love you all 😊😊😊
So I'm guessing the Ritual of the Holy Assumption (which I just learned means "a taking up into heaven") involved Walter taking in the "blood of the ten sinners" into himself to become the 11th sacrament...? Or are the "tubes" just the things keeping him help up/crucified?
Good thinking. I guess his physical dead body is meant to be a recipient. Then at the last battle it becomes The Conjurer, that big premature monster. I suppose it's the "vehicle" for the Descent of The Holy Mother thing. Explains why you need to maculate the body before being able to reach real Walter.
There are nice silent hill youtube channels that you can check solid explanations on that. It was difficult for me to get the whole picture first time I saw a gameplay of this one. I recommend gamingmuse video explaining the 21 Sacraments.
He actually killed himself and became victim number 11. But he preserved his body with the blood and kept with the 21 sacraments in order to complete the ritual
So happy that you gave it a new chance AND you liked it :D You are totally right. People were pissed at SH4 cause it was different. For me, SH4 was the first SH I ever played. So, I wasn't expecting stuff and I was blown away. I loved, and love, the game. After that I played SH3 and 2. When Homecoming came out I played that on the PC of my ex, and I was disappointed. And Shattered Memories was really weird to me, too. Origins was okay. It was something "known". I searched for a copy for SH1 and found one in good condition, so I played that, too. I only got an PS2, couldn't afford a new console cause there were always far more important things, but for that I got into Let's plays eight years ago so I saw Downpour and wasn't really a fan. For me, SH is a classic series with four games. Everything after that is bonus and, sometimes, bogus. Man. SH really is my teenage years. And I'm grateful for these games. The darkness helped to deal with my own darkness, indeed.
WhatTheHell honestly, I gave up on the game solely because the ghosts annoyed the crap outta me. Didn’t give a fart about it not being *Silent Hill* enough... even loved the concept of the room hub world. But if the enemy design did ruin it for me... the ghosts destroyed any hope of me enjoying it 😂
Finally got the time to binge-watch all your playthrough Gab! Oh this was a fresh restart into SH4, I remember watching your 1st time playing it, and the change from that one to now was just, aaah a big smile and a sigh on me :D SH has always been my favorite game, i have so many memories from it, and i can gladly say my memories from the series are linked to you now. Thank you for playing it, and being how you are, THAT is what makes watching horror game playthroughs so special to me.
I'm not sure how your edit helps to keep the copyright demons away from the video, but that was pretty cool! Thank you for playing this game, and I'm happy you enjoyed it as much as your viewers did. Can't wait to watch more SH from you ❤️ whichever ones you play next (psst, all of them, please) I'll be here for it!
Thank you for sacrificing so much off-screen playtime to go back and save and make sure that you have all the things in the right place and everything - I never played any of the SH games and I really like your playthroughs, but it's awesome to see this level of commitment to a series. It was awesome! Amazing games and cool tattoo!
This was so incredibly fun to watch. I had always heard this game was “bad” for one reason for another so I’m glad you gave it another chance, now I hope I can play it one day myself! The Walter behind the wall was so creepy omg, gonna be thinking about that for a while 😱
i played 1-4 also in order and i gotta say i felt the same as you in that i didnt like how different it was in many aspects. but it was probably amplified for those of us waiting for the release. i got sh4 day one at gamestop and when i played it i was just complaining about all the little things. things like enemy design (minus the twins), lighting being to bright, textures, overall environment design, sound, combat, level design, etc. it wasn't a strong hate for the game but instead a strong "meh" moment. like i just felt so bored and disappointed after waiting for it. i felt there mustve been some level of conflict within the studio while making this. it didnt seem as polished and didnt have that strong of an identity or art direction, which makes sense since team silent from what i remember was trying to deviate but konami wanted them to keep it has a main entry of SH.after seeing you play though i realize i can look at it a bit differently. i can say the story might actually be more interesting than 3 although its main characters are pretty weak. Henry is like the quintessential everyman/avatar character and Eileen is kinda just there..standing or following you. Walter on the other hand i find really cool from his costume design to his creepy expression. the story has much more intrigue and mystery to it and the concept of the apartment as a gameplay hub is really cool.
Thank you so much for making a play through of this game. SH4 was my introduction to the franchise and is still my favorite title. I can’t play it anymore so it was great reliving it through your videos! ❤
I love this game. To me it should be the gold standard for psychological horror. So many slow burn moments, it's payoffs are all worth it, so many things you can miss , when you find them it just makes it that much more valuable. Great game and playthrough Gab
33:21 If I remember correctly, she can get possessed to the point where she acts like a ghost enemy. I don't think she actively attacks, but she'll float and Henry will take damage from being around her.
Wait what?? I knew about her being possessed and saying random things but floating and becoming a ghost? Gonna have to do a second playthrough to test that out.
Watching you replay games have been absolutely satisfying! Great work, thank you Gab! Hope everyone have a great day tomorrow, it's already night over here.
Omg at the end when your cat was playing with the plant, I was laughing so hard! I do the same thing with my cat when she gets into trouble. The good old “pick them up and distract them” trick, they’re just like kids lol But do what you need to do for your upload schedule! I’ll be hanging around, waiting for the next game when it comes :)
Great job Gab. That ending music suited your voice so well. I've been enjoying all your content for years. Always nice to finish a ride. I'd love to see you play Resident Evil 4 or Bioshock Infinite.
Finally got the time to watch this and you didn't disappoint. This was a really enjoyable to watch. I loved your take on gameplay versus other Let's Players. Thank you for posting this and I look forward to your next playthrough.
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is listed In the credits, under vocalists. Rather coincidental to see her listed here, as I've been listening to the amazing Stray Gods soundtrack since it was released last month, and she did voice acting in that game as well.
That was so cool! what an ending! I never got this far but I wanna give it another go now and see all the endings. Great playthrough Gab, now ima watch it all again back to back lol. Cant wait to see more Silent Hill playthroughs
i only discovered this series yesterday and already finished it lol really enjoyed the commentary and glad you were able to view this game again in better light
I've been watching all over your SH walkthroughs and have thoroughly enjoyed them! I'm watching them in game order rather than recorded order, so it's always fun to hear you say what you might play next - and I've already watched it! :-) I've never played these games before, but I love horror and love your streams. With the dozens of games already on my backlog I figured I'd never get around to playing them myself, so this is perfect. On a side note... the cougar sound absolutely kills me. WHY? lol I hum "Come on Eileen" to myself approximately 100 times each stream, :-P. Thank you for the great videos!
Dont know if you'll ever read this but I'm so glad you played through this! Just found your channel when you released your 2nd or 3rd SH4 video and my 7yo son and I watched them together until the end and it was so much fun (hes a horror fan like me!) Im hooked on your channel now since youve done other silent hill games, fatal frame games and other misc. horror games. Thanks for giving SH4 another chance since it doesn't get a lot of credit, I personally liked it a lot my first playthrough and it's nice to see someone give it another chance. We can't wait to see you replay more silent hill!

Well my Silent Hill journey begun with the remake for 2, and here I am at the end of 4. Really, really enjoyed it. Thanks so much for introducing me to Silent Hill. It's been such an interesting world to explore. I really like the ideas and stories they've put together. I think 2 is my favourite simply for the story, but 4 was so creepy and kept making me jump! I love the female characters they write too, Heather and Eileen are so cool. Running round these environments beating up monsters in mini skirts and heels?! Hell yeah!
Just goes to show; things change. Games you dismiss then later come back to with a new found appreciation, really puts things into perspective the older you get.
Gab, I'm not sure if you'll read this because this is a 4yr old series but... I'm really enjoying your Silent Hill playthroughs!, you've really made me decide to watch every one you've done. I'll be honest and say that if you decided to replay the other Silent Hill games you haven't played since 2020 I'd be right here tuning in to watch you go through them once again, what can I say.. other than I really like your personality and energy when you're playing Silent Hill!
This has been a great play through - I've watched all parts of it - love that Event Horizon esc end fight. On the subject of Silent Hill Shattered Memories I'm surprised so many people don't like it - because out of the more recent ones that is the only one that impressed me - I actually have a PS2 copy of it. - I feel they tried to do something different with Shattered Memories - much like Silent Hill 4.
What a great walkthrough! I enjoyed this soooo much, ps1/2 survival horrors are the best. Can't wait for a replay of SH1 or maybe haunting ground, there's nothing like too much retro horror, and of course you're the only one that can give them justice darling!
Thanks for playing this whole game! I didn't think much of this one either because of how different it was, but I agree, I think it's easily on par with 2 and 3 because of the story and theme.
Resting Comfortably (the music playing that Gab comments is serene) is one of the best tracks in any Silent Hill. Up there with Blank Fairy from Silent Hill 2 for me. And they occur narratively in a similar place. Like a calm before the storm
I'm really happy you played silent hill 4 again! It was your playthroughs that got me into silent hill (and even revived my horror enthusiasm)! Thank you for playing all these games for us, you are awesome!!
Easily my favourite lp of yours Gabby, can definitely see how much better you are in this compared to the original lp you did, that one you were kinda dark and gloomy, now you're bright and bubbly. So enjoyable to watch.

Agreed, it sure doesn't
It's also said that George Rosten performed a ritual on him that caused the god Valtiel to possess him.
Believing that room is his mum.
Tons of people experience abandonment and religious abuse and don’t become serial killers so haha no sympathy here
Eileen is such a sweet heart. Guessing that's why she was picked as the mother

Seeing you and Eileen jump Cynthia successfully was the highlight of my day
if i learned something watching this playthrough is that you should never rent cheap appartments on the bad side of town :p
😂
I'm 100% willing to kill a couple of mutant dogs and monster baby twins for a cheap apartment. I'll throw in the serial killer for free.
It will be ok..if we get free peep hole..lol
not necessarily.. i get random door knocking in many rooms in my place
and im in a well lit neighborhood in the good side of town.

But I really liked it cause it wasn't meaningless horror, it was art! Add the compelling and beautiful Yamaoka music to the mix and we have an instant classic!
You’re a gentleman and a scholar for your favorite being SH2. I concur.
Great Playthrough! I remember last October being bummed because there were no good SH4 playthroughs. You made my fall/spookytime/tradition complete.
Chronoworld is this classified as retro?
@@hardfugoo1 I believe in this time and with new gen around the corner its about to be but classic is the better word i guess.
And I lost busting out the old PS from time to time too ;)
when I played this game way back, I had no idea about how to get rid of the hauntings in the room, so you can imagine my apartment was... a f*ing nightmare by the end of the game XD i had SO many hauntings going on simultaniously, that I am very surprised I somehow still beat the game... and got the "mother" ending as far as I remember.
listening all the parents words, n thinking about baby Walter, is make me sad...
this game is pure art
@@RenegadeShepard69 Yes! She's absolutely amazing!
Oh this was a fresh restart into SH4, I remember watching your 1st time playing it, and the change from that one to now was just, aaah a big smile and a sigh on me :D
SH has always been my favorite game, i have so many memories from it, and i can gladly say my memories from the series are linked to you now.
This was such a great series! First one I've watched of yours! Can't wait for more. Excellent!
This was so incredibly fun to watch. I had always heard this game was “bad” for one reason for another so I’m glad you gave it another chance, now I hope I can play it one day myself! The Walter behind the wall was so creepy omg, gonna be thinking about that for a while 😱
I can't wait for this episode. This where everything gets crazy!
i played 1-4 also in order and i gotta say i felt the same as you in that i didnt like how different it was in many aspects. but it was probably amplified for those of us waiting for the release. i got sh4 day one at gamestop and when i played it i was just complaining about all the little things. things like enemy design (minus the twins), lighting being to bright, textures, overall environment design, sound, combat, level design, etc. it wasn't a strong hate for the game but instead a strong "meh" moment. like i just felt so bored and disappointed after waiting for it. i felt there mustve been some level of conflict within the studio while making this. it didnt seem as polished and didnt have that strong of an identity or art direction, which makes sense since team silent from what i remember was trying to deviate but konami wanted them to keep it has a main entry of SH.after seeing you play though i realize i can look at it a bit differently. i can say the story might actually be more interesting than 3 although its main characters are pretty weak.
During the scene that cut up to fours i thought she prerecorded different reactions for each square and scared me when she wasn’t moving 😂
HAHA me too
I love this game. To me it should be the gold standard for psychological horror. So many slow burn moments, it's payoffs are all worth it, so many things you can miss , when you find them it just makes it that much more valuable. Great game and playthrough Gab
Gold standard? This? It looks crappier than SH1 that was released on ps1. And SH1 is a masterpiece. This aint comparable to other Silent hill games
@@milannesic5718 I'm playing SH1 on a backwards compatible PS3 this looks way better. SH1 is a masterpiece too
33:21 If I remember correctly, she can get possessed to the point where she acts like a ghost enemy. I don't think she actively attacks, but she'll float and Henry will take damage from being around her.
Wait what?? I knew about her being possessed and saying random things but floating and becoming a ghost? Gonna have to do a second playthrough to test that out.
It was such a fun series !! Thanks for playing this game ☺️
Did Henry not think it was weird that he got an apartment that has one or two less rooms than everyone else in the complex?
Henry: Screw Apartments! Home ownership is the way to go. *Buys house with "mysterious past"
*Fires 20 bullets in a panic* ‘Well I made some inventory space!’
i only discovered this series yesterday and already finished it lol really enjoyed the commentary and glad you were able to view this game again in better light
Because of this series, I've officially gone back and am now watching all your Silent Hill series!
I've been watching all over your SH walkthroughs and have thoroughly enjoyed them! I'm watching them in game order rather than recorded order, so it's always fun to hear you say what you might play next - and I've already watched it! :-)
I've never played these games before, but I love horror and love your streams. With the dozens of games already on my backlog I figured I'd never get around to playing them myself, so this is perfect.
On a side note... the cougar sound absolutely kills me. WHY? lol
I hum "Come on Eileen" to myself approximately 100 times each stream, :-P.
Another fun playthrough 🤩 looking forward for more !!! Take care and thank you for creating a joyful experiences I really do enjoy watching you play, I think many would agree on it's always fun watching you play/stream/chat and I love this community that brought nice same minded people together 🤍 video games are awesome.
I'm looking forward to you getting back to silent hill 3, that's my personal favorite
Loved this play through! I love to see the Silent Hill fan base keeping it alive!
So glad to discover your channel! Really like your chill way of making it through the game
I love you’re silent hill content ♥️ keep up the awesome work!!
*The way my mind works* "I can't seem to break the wall down." What I immediately think of: "Break the walls dooooooooooown!"
Can't wait for a replay of SH1 or maybe haunting ground, there's nothing like too much retro horror, and of course you're the only one that can give them justice darling!
hey wouldn't it be cool if you replay the ps1 clock tower? also not horror but okami on ps2 would be great
BRO I COULD NEVER GET PASSED THE SCISSOR BOSS , my mom couldn’t ether she played it growing up then passed it on to me
Such a great playthrough, got into silent hill with your recent sh2 series and I’m looking forward to seeing you play other games like this!
Thanks for playing this whole game! I didn't think much of this one either because of how different it was, but I agree, I think it's easily on par with 2 and 3 because of the story and theme.
10:54 "What?! CAN'T HEAR YOU"
Resting Comfortably (the music playing that Gab comments is serene) is one of the best tracks in any Silent Hill.
Oh God I've now watched all your 4 Silent Hill playthroughs! Please play the other ones you like too😭 it was so much fun. I was afraid of watching Silent Hill playthroughs for a while, but with you playing them I knew I'd end up liking them. I'll await your other updates. I only want to watch them you playing them.
Thank you so much for this journey. I really enjoyed them❤️
Finished it two days ago. Really amazing game.
This was such a fun playthrough! It’s definitely quite different from the other games but it is cool the idea of what ever weirdness that Silent Hill has just seems to have a cheeky way of reaching other places beyond itself
Ayyy thank you for the playthrough, I watched the whole thing since yesterday lol I was just randomly searching for a full playthrough of silent hill 4 because I miss that game soo muuuuchh and then I stumbled across your channel. Gonna continue to watch your other playthrough game as well, RE4 is probably next in my list. Also, you got a new subscriber here :D
LOVED this playthrough ! Thanks🧡
59:42 Gabs: " I'm so glad to be rid of Eileen, that clunky PS2 AI man"
Me: NOW you feel my pain!!!
I didn’t even know this one existed! Thanks for playing it again and sharing!
Great video, I can really tell that you are into this game. You have earned my support👌
One of the creepiest aspects of this game for me was the twin enemies pointing at you as you approached them. Dear god
New subscriber over here 🙋🏽♀️ Thank you for the amazing content! I love Silent Hill and am enjoying the nostalgia 😊 totally binge watching a lot of your videos 🤣 All I need is a cocktail and some snacks 👍🏽🍿🍹
Really enjoyed this playthough. Thank you
I love this and all your game playthroughs. I was watching this after my mother fell in our hotel room and broke ribs and vertebrae. I them realised we were in apartment 302...I should have brought those holy candles! Keep being awesome!!!
I tried to watch your old playthrough several times, but I could tell you weren't enjoying it, so that put me off and I dropped it. Thanks for doing it again. I enjoy the games you enjoy, even if they scare me. As long as you have fun, then that's all I need to watch your videos ❤️
Thanks for another amazing journey Gab!
Thanks for the playthrough Gab! It's always nice to watch you play horror games, your chill atmosphere goes really well with them, I always play one in the background when I am working or practising my drawing. I am also glad to hear that you're doing better mentally, I've been there myself a couple of times and it's a really sucky experience.
I hope that you replay the rest of the series in the near future. Stay awesome \m/.
Nice playthrough Gab. You are now in my top 3.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it and are feeling happy, as a viewer I can see that 😊 thanks for this playthrough, was enjoyable to watch, one of my favourite horror games. Can't believe you weren't more scared, I got so scared by one of the twins that my cat jumped off my lap as he got startled 😁
Whoo, well done on finishing 4 gab! Love that your opinion on the game changed for the better and congrats on getting the best ending :)
