To answer your question at 2:11 that looks to be a bacteriophage. They're a virus that actually inject DNA stored in that crystal-like thing into bacteria to take it over and kill it. Some scientists are trying to come up with a way to use it safely as an alternative to antibiotics which bacteria evolves immunities to rather quickly.
As a Bio student it's cool seeing games with some (very loosely used) concepts I know about.

Phage therapy is actually used extensively outside of the US, particularly in Russia. I've heard accounts of phage therapy completely eliminating a bacterial infection that had proven immune to all available antibiotics.
Perhaps the bacteriophage’s name is Minos Prime

PLEASE I’m begging 🙏 you…Death’s Gambit ROUND 2. The “Afterlife” updated literally DOUBLED the amount of content in the game and made it SUPER good❤️
Dunno about that, played the game for like 10 hours, it's pretty mid.
Im with on this one, Death's Gambit Afterlife really lift it up and expanded on the story beyond the point where it previously end it, i hope Indeimaus (and everyone else) give the game a second chance ❤

@@itissatno A game like this is not defined by it's peaks or valleys, but by the average moment-to-moment experience, which I found to be unexceptional, hence: mid.
And 10 hours is more than enough time to decide wether you like a game or not.

There’s no such thing as “the best” genre.
It felt so good when I figured out how to avoid that multi sniper shot.
A recent release that I loved the demo for recently was a game called Biomorph, it's a Hollow Knight style Metroidvania with the unique quirk that you can transform into certain enemy types that you kill and can use their abilities to platform and solve puzzles. It felt really good to play and has the expected hidden secrets and collectibles you'd crave.

This is a great metroidvania year as well. Prince of Persia, Biomorph, Turbo Kid, Rebel Transmute, and later this year we have Gestalt, Nine Sols, and Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus. Lot to pick from.

You should totally play Vernal Edge. It's an indie metroidvania that came out about a year ago. I bought it like, 6 months ago, but only just started playing it last week and oh my god. It is now my favorite game, for the moment. It's a combat focused metroidvania, and plays similar to a 2d version of Nier Replicant's early game. Totally recommend!
Man, now that you mentioned them, you should try to find as many Newgrounds classics and make them into a video. I was poor so those games were my lifeblood. I loved that site.
