the cutscenes are undeniably beautiful but i am gonna miss the pixel art ones of the first game
Same. It had this grit and horror to it whereas this one was more eye candy and clean.

Yeah idk I liked the game but there was something missing in this sequel :\ the bosses were all massive and so cool in the first, many are the size of the player in the second. And the clean pretty cutscenes just really felt out of place to me. As a stand-alone game its great but.. idk it feels inferior to the original imo (except for movement, anyway)
No need to sugarcoat. The cutscenes look cheap and look like something you'd see in a children's cartoon or flash cutscenes on newgrounds lol. Everything else tho is still blasphemous perfection
And before anyone tries to be a smartass, I mean the quality and style looks like children's cartoons, not the content.
My favorite part was when John Blasphemous said, “To beat this guy, I have to become Blasphemous II.” Really tied everything together

They skimped on the glory kills which is Blasphemy, but they redeemed themselves with amazing art style.
Ironic since the new cutscene style and the glory kill reduction were both done to save on costs.
@@KaleidosXXI No the cutscene style was replaced because the Russian guy who was the director for the cutscenes in Blasphemous 1 left the studio due to some Russian/Ukraine stuff..
tbh i don't mind it, sometimes dev have free content updates that add stuff like that. So who knows, we might get a glory kills update one day

Also wrong on the glory kills. They were removed because you now have 3 weapons.. so they'd have to do 3 different glory kills for EVERY enemy.
Id say the 3 weaps are a fair trade off.

The swordmaster was a huge wall for me, too. That screech for his swing is ETCHED into my mind
I had to beat him twice because of a endless loading glitch. -_-

What a game. Also is anyone is also missing the Sand Hand enemy at 16:35 there should be one at the bottom of the really tall room in the Sand area. Love the fact there isn't anything missable!

Blasphemy is the spice, but you cooked up a godly video with this one. I especially loved the boss edits this time around, some reason they hit harder than your previous ones. I ESPECIALLY loved the part you captured on the 2nd last boss, just to show off the spacing and movement flow. love love love it

The boss fight edits were so so sick. The extra slow-mo for that perfect back and forth sequence at 40:45 was beautiful. 10/10, no notes, Blasphemy.

I wish we could have that armor set in Elden Ring. A cross over would be sweet. I'd love to use the briars of sin sorceries looking like that (even though theyre arguably bad).
@@Svoorhout85 Honestly I think there's something similar either in one of the Dark Souls games like DS2 with Mirror Knight or Bloodborne but maybe there's a possibility we'll having something similar in Elden Ring DLC.

The funniest thing for me is that I just did a blasphemy of my own and finished Ending C of the first game the same day this was uploaded. What a fantastic game! I'm so glad the developers got to make a sequel, the level of care and attention in their pixel art shows how much they love what they do.

Blasphemous 2 is imo what every sequel should aim for. They really upped their game across the board. More content, more weapons, more customization with buffs, all that with a genuinely beautiful wrap up to the penitent ones story. Thats how you do a sequel🙌

I finished getting all the achievements in Blasphemous 2 a few days ago. I've completed both games with all the achievements now and it feels so good. Damn Blasphemous is such a good series!

It is such a blasphemy that we aren't getting enough cursed elevators in games anymore. I've witnessed the first cursed elevator on this channel, I hope there's something special at number 50 or 100.

Just finally got around to playing part 1 and it's nuts how good these games are. Blasphemous even!!
I love this game, the first one was different than the norm but felt a lot like a 2d version of dark souls
To be fare the first one is also a 2d version of dark souls

I just finished playing this the other day, and I was very impressed with the experience as a whole. Honestly, I do wish some of the bosses were a bit harder - the final boss felt like it should've had a second phase. That being said, Eviterno absolutely kicked my shit in for a while before I managed to beat him. It's actually insane how much harder he is than all of the other bosses. He may have taken me more attempts than the rest of the bosses combined.
Sarmiento and Centella are stupidly powerful. They're a legit weapon.
The way you whooped the last boss' ass was absolute Blasphemy.
For my friends from the north side of the continent, here is a curious fact about Afilao (the terrible swordman!! Jsjsjs).
Afilao is the representation of an old (and not so old because it still exists, or at least here in some South American countries, I don't know if in Spain it still exists) informal profession called "El afilador" (the sharpener).
At least here in South America the sharpener passes through the streets offering the service of sharpening the knives of the housewives or the scissors that no longer cut in exchange for some coins. The iconic thing about the sharpener (apart from his profession) is the melody he usually plays using a small quena or flute every time he passes through the streets, and yes! That melody is exactly what Afilao plays in his boss battle (is my favorite boss 💕). Here in South America it is more the gasfitero who makes that little sound than the afilador, but you can say that both Spain and several South American countries share that in common jsjsjs.

I 100%'ed this game as well, once I started, I had to. Hahaha I loved every second of it...well almost... you know what I'm talking about, the guy that wants those wax seeds- wtf?! I could've done just fine without that imagery-
But that was a kinda fun little shock to the old sensory- lol
To miss the return of one of the coolest Metroidvanias around and to enjoy it next to the best Maus would be blasphemy

Having to work for Ending A and being handed Ending B is BLASPHEMY.
The effort in this video and the game itself is phenomenal, Blasphemous remains one of the greatest games and it is a Blasphemy to say otherwise.

The cave lady holding the roof was funny af moment. You hear the crumbling as you go through one door iirc, I thought "Oh welp, I think I messed up that questline, I can see her legs", then you meet the lady again and she's all "Thanks! You did it!". Uh, sure. Yeah. No problem.
I've watched till the end and you've missed the last second cutscene shows that Crisanta may be in dlc or something. I'm so exited for this
