My name is Jermey I am a snap on dealer in central Wisconsin, I love to do these videos to give you a little sneak peak into the snap on life. I appreciate all of your support. I have been a franchisee since 2011. My helper “Tracker” comes to work with me every day. You can see him in the videos from time to time sleeping or what ever working dogs do… he is a blast to have along and the customers love that he greets them every week. Along with Tracker I have an assistant named Jamie that also works Mon-Fri with me. Some times she is on the truck other times she runs our sprinter truck. I hope you like our videos and if you do please subscribe and don’t ever be afraid to comment. Thank you once again!!!

I don’t sell any thing from you tube, I am only here to provide a better look at the behind the scene. I do not get paid from snap on for these videos. I do this just because I love to share the experiences I have as a dealer.
Thank you again!!!

My wrenches at work look like this. I work in the assembly department at a company that manufactures hydraulic cylinders. Around the time I started there was an ongoing issue with people borrowing wrenches from each others work carts and not returning them. Eventually our supervisor got tired of people constantly arguing with each other over their missing wrenches so he went and had wrench sets purchased for each assembler. To make sure that there would be no more arguments about which wrenches belonged to a particular employee he hung each set up on the paint line and had the painters give each set a different color. Over the year or so since we got them the paint has faded on the most commonly used sizes (3/8, 9/16, 11/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1"), so that now only the lettering still has color.
Nice neon green is where I’m going….thanks for posting.
Saddens me that people still haven’t heard of this in 2019. I was told to do this when I was an apprentice 32 years ago.
Plastic model paint (acrylic) is better than a pen. 0000 steel wool will do the job
Testors was the brand we used. They have about 35 shades of the enamel paint. Probably could match some Snap On box colors perfectly.
I was doing the same thing with Testors and 0000 in the '60s
Fingernail polish from the wife is same same in many colors
@@adamkruskama8455 finger nail polish will come off in non chlorinated brake clean. Brake clean and nail polish remover have the same main ingredient, acetone
@@Pauleh123 acetone will take off every kind of paint , paint pens , acrylic ....
I do this to all my sockets and wrenches. Blue for mm and red for sae.
that is a good idea
Good call, I painted all my left handed Allen wrenches red.
I paint my crescents with red enamel with model enamel paint to lay it on thick. They look nice. OCD tool guys way want to hold off.
@@michaelsimon1807 That's ridiculous! Left handed Allen Wrenches should be blue.
yep I was gonna do different colors for metric and sae.
great idea , i just use a silver sharpie pen. especially on Impact sockets that are almost always totally black, i just wright the size in big numbers on them and also put lines so i can see if its breaking it loose/moving.
Great idea not only keeps your tools straight from other techs but makes them look better without the added cost....but let's be real new and old techs would still buy cuz they know their value and worth during a long day. Keep up the good work will be trying this out on all my tools, thanks
He even paint the red on his cap. Awesome
That looks sharp brah! Love it!
WOW, that is amazing! it's so simple yet I would have never thought to do that lol thanks for the cool idea!
What a great idea
I was looking for an easy way to do this. I have now found it. Thank you. For us older guys with failing eyes, this is the perfect solution. Oh and I like it better all the way around the socket. Looks sharp!
I found that using model paint works the best with a small paint brush. Put it on thick and wet, and within 30 seconds, wipe it with paper towel. Then let it dry over night and polish with a micro fiber towel.
You should do your tool box tour of what you got.. would be interesting
Great now I gotta spend hours doing this to all my tools
I paint my wrenches by the color of the brand. Or just sport red by default. I ❤️this upgrade.
Been doing this for years, first thing I do when I get new tools... best part is it's almost impossible to remove by people who like using other's toolboxes to fill their own, and it helped us find out who broke into some boxes and went 5 finger discount shopping...
you can use nail polish as well with nail polish remover. use a qtip to wipe off the excess and it perfectly leaves the imprinted color. this also helps differentiate between all the techs tools so you can instantly know who jacked your 10mm swivel :)
Many years ago I was doing this with bright yellow on impact tools. Looks great. Clean the new industrial finish before applying. I used to fill the markings repeatedly until full and flush with the surface, wiping off the still wet excess between coats. When dry I'd use a razor blade to clean off the rest.
Maybe try using some clear top coat nail polish to make it last longer.
StealZone *TIP!!!! PUT CLEAR TAPE OVER IT SO DIRT AND GRIME DOESNT GET INTO THE INLAY THINK OF IT AS CLEAR COAT!! 🤟🏽😁 , Dirty? RE TAPE IT!*
Great idea & video! thanks for showing us so simple that adds the little custom touch.
Thank you it looks very sharp you did a good job I like it
ohhhhhh you done showed me something HERE!!!! I think I'm going to do this to my work tools... probably red or pink to keep the guys off this lady mechanic's tool AHAHAHAHAHA and maybe some green for my home tools... the red looks great!!! what an awesome idea!!!
I've just gotten started on my snap on tool collection for work and I gotta say this is an awesome idea
you need to rethink some things, unless snap on is required for your job.
Did this to my forearms with modeling paint. Works good & looks great! Planning on doing this with my tools as well. Will make it difficult to clean my tools though as the cleaner will end up removing the color.
Brian Roszel *TIP!!!! PUT CLEAR TAPE OVER IT SO DIRT AND GRIME DOESNT GET INTO THE INLAY THINK OF IT AS CLEAR COAT!! 🤟🏽😁 , Dirty? RE TAPE IT!*
@@IDABAYAREA650I Good idea. I'll give that a try.😁
That looks darn cool. Of course the Snap-On fan boy in me was yelling, “No, metric has to be black. SAE is red!!!!”
BlindBatG34 SAE red mm blue. That's just me anyway, for tool colors, plastic trays oh well, but I get what you're saying, you're referring to the tray color.
My thoughts exactly
Those wrench are cool in red!! Maybe in purple for mine!!
Great idea really stands out thanks for your time
Now I have something to do with my down time. Thank you sir
I have been doing this for years. I started with my craftsman wrenches and sockets just to identify from everyone else and moved onto my snap on tools. I uses blue for metric and red for SAE tools. My ratchets and extension in black. Thanks for the great video 🔧🔧🔧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This is a good idea with Glock magazines or Smith and Wesson, You can use white nail polish on the mags where the round amount is, then just use nail polish remover and get the same effect. Those snap ons looks awesome.
How long do you wait between putting the polish on before using the remover?
Neat idea. Thank you for sharing.
I really like this idea. I'm gonna paint mine blue and yellow. Milwaukee Brewers colors. Thanks for the video and great idea. I'm a big fan of the channel
Cool idea I like it I would do it I’d go green just because that’s the color of my snap on tools and the color I like thanks for the awesome idea
I think that looks really cool!
Great idea Jermey, thanks!
Love it. I'd chose green favorite color. I would mix it up maybe do green for "on" and red for "off" and do otheres in "black" like you suggested so they will stand out more. Love it great job, love the creativity and organization.
red for rightie tightie black for off
Luv this I've been doing this with my impact sockets for years just to make them easyer to read lol
Excellent ideas. I especially like the different colours fo mm and inches
love this I have some spanners coming at the end of the month I can't wait to do this might mark common sizes different colours
i really like this video I'm going to do that to my tools tomorrow.
Good that you have that kinda time. I'm into my second day of work without an end to the first day, not counting a couple of three hour naps.
@@nothankyou5524 good for you man if that what you think then be it. My coworkers like it and they are also doing it.
Well thanks, guess how I'll be spending rest of my evening lol
I need to paint my deck but I spent my time painting wrenches. Lol.
If you haven't done this already to every tool when you got it, doing them all at once will be torture. And about a week or two of buffing paint off lol 🤣😂
I remember when Snap-On was the mark of excellence.
John Eder They still are...if you can afford them.
awesome idea
Dude that is awesome! What type of paint marker did you use?
I wish they would come this way from the factory! That looks snazzy. Would almost justify the price😁
Love the idea, going to have to do it on my old craftsman stuff.
Super cool. Love all your videos
I like this idea. Red I'd choose too.
Toolbox tour! 👍
What a great idea... I used paint thinner to get excess off. Thanks for the video.
Smart idea.
Not sure why this dude is using a brillo pad to so it.
This is bad ass. I have the midnight blue box thinking that or doing white. I'm between shops and box is at home I'm going to do wrenches and sockets and the stainless top
I did mine in red using fingernail polish and removing the extra with nail polish remover!!! It only took about 30 minutes to let the nail polish dry!!! Turned out great!!!
That actually a pretty neat idea.
Cool idea, thanks for sharing.
I do the same thing with my guns. But I use testers paint from Hobby Lobby and use bore cleaner to clean off the excess paint. My pistols look AWESOME!!!!
Great idea.
That’s bad ass I think I might have to do that
That’s awesome man thanks for the tip! I just wonder how long the paint would last? Thanks man, much appreciated!
Did my SLX80A awhile back in lime green and blue, looks awesome
I really like the look of the green!!!
@@Haasltools Sure makes it stick out. Great video as always!
The ratchet it's very cool. I will choose yellow for the socket numbers.
Oh man, gonna do that with the wrenches!
Looks great and also makes it easier to tell what size the tool is
Great post as always sir. I have used white out on impact sockets, and color code, red for sae and gray for metric
great idea!
i put my 3 initials on mine that way if they are stolen i have a chance to recover them. in texas the pawn shops will not take tools unless it is your initials on them. i have also heard to add the last of ss number along with initials for better identification
Great tip. Thank you. I like this idea.
That looks killer, looks like I got work to do...
I’ll be doing all my wrench set for sure!👍
That was a cool idea glad you shared this with us I really thought it was pink lol
Yes time for a tool box tour let's see what the Snap on dealer has lol
It’s just my home box for working on lawnmowers and weed wackers lol.
Lol
i was going to do this before i seen the vid and now im foing it for sure
I did my ratchet like this and I made the USA Red, White & Blue.
That is an awesome idea, the whole socket looked better.
Love the idea. I would do SO green!
doesn't steel wool remove the chrome finish?
i've definitely seen the marks on some of my wrenches and sockets.
maybe I wasn't using the correct grit
I know this will not work on impact sockets because i've had to clean rust off of them with a sanding foam pad and it will scratch the black finish off
someone mentioned 0000 steel wool?
That's actually pretty cool, man. I dig it. 😎
Looking sharp those tools
Great idea totally doing it.
TOOK IDEA. USED SNP RED,ORANGE,GREEN.DID EVERY DAY SOCKETS, XTENSNS ALL RATCHES.LOOKS GOOD NO QUESTION THATS MY TOOL!!! CHANGED RATCH HANDELS 2.OF COURSE NEW COLORS OUT NOW.
Looking good. I've done the same to my ratchets.
great idea i try
I know what I'm doing next Sunday, be a good project with the kids
Like it I’d go with blue or orange
Just did a set of wrenches. Looks great!
I like this guy
Awesome they look great i know what im going to do tonight
Wow. That sure looks fantastic. I spray painted my Snap On tool wrenches with VHT lime green engine paint. After three years in a dealership maintenance shop the paint on the metric wrenches has pretty much worn off. The paint has even worn off on the engraved sectIons. How long will the paint last using this technique last?
A lot of guys just touch up once or twice a year.
Good shit!!!
I know I love your vids watch all the time great jog keep up🛠 🍻😈
Super dope customization. I am gonna followed this procedure. A + Rating. I am gonna do mine either Light Green or Yellow.
Great idea
Looks good, we’ll worth the effort. I did mine in blue for metric and red for SAE. I may do the sizes in yellow. Like the video.
I do this with every tool in my box. Yellow car model enamel with a fine tip brush
I like it,good video brother!
Look nice deff doin this thanks bro for the idea 🤟🏾
Great idea!!!! I'm going to do this to my wenches in the Snap On green.
Manny Fernandez *TIP!!!! PUT CLEAR TAPE OVER IT SO DIRT AND GRIME DOESNT GET INTO THE INLAY THINK OF IT AS CLEAR COAT!! 🤟🏽😁 , Dirty? RE TAPE IT!*
The way I learned , while the paint is still wet just use a regular paper towel, and wipe the top layer off. Just remember not to press down to hard.
This game s great. I’m totally doing every wrench ratchet and socket (maybe then I can read the sockets ).
I would let lke to order the SO sos cordless tool with proprietary SO sos pads plz. I’m guessing I’ll be about it 900 all in. Also need a SO paint pen to match my box. SO black
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
looks great going to do my tools tomorrow
another one with more time than work.
It looks cool on the sockets and ratchets and amazon will sell out of paint pens .LOVE IT
What happens when you clean the grease and oil from your wrenches with brake cleaner?
That’s a really good idea I use crayons on my impact sockets it looks like I’m going to be buying some paint markers
Don't think I'll do this to my Yarborough n 1st group. I know a guy that does that on gun engraving n its really adds to a guns look. Enjoy your videos, all I have are memories now. An a woreout body to boot. Keep em coming,,, I always wanted to be a SnapOn dealer but dreamed about a LamTrack mulching business too. lol
