The plastic dye is rit dye or the equivalent right? I'm about to dye all my non warrantied tools black. Half my ridgid tools are black from the factory, and I will soon be using a ryobi electric ratchet with a ridgid battery adaptor, do this should make it all match together
So how does the dyeing affect the rubber grips? Did it mess them up or mess up the adhesive? This is the only thing stopping me from dyeing my tools to get rid of the ugly ass red color

I work at a maintenance facility with about 30 people, we have shop owned tools, but they are not always returned. Many of us buy our own power tools as well. Milwaukee is the most popular brand, if you don't mark your tools they will get mixed up and end up who knows where. This would be a good way to separate my power tools from everyone else's.
Agree. Iv RIT dyed some small motorcycle parts to durable success so I was amped to see someone doing this... Then it was done... & I was like "oh🫤" "ew". Saved me the trouble tho bud, so thank you
Milwaukee rep on Reddit said they would still honor warranty as long as you don’t damage the tool during the process. Definitely a big caveat but not instantly void at least.
Most certainly doesn’t. Painting something most certainly doesn’t void the warranty, and opening something up also doesn’t (although that’s quite recent in the US). Those “warranty void if opened” stickers on products are just a scare tactic.
Very cool!! Does it do any damage to the rubber over molding?
Hello, this grease that you use, where can I buy it or write me the name
Cake
Rit black dye
ive been looking for a video like this ! i never thought of using dye
Great job. What was the plastic colouring agents that you used? Where can I buy it?
Rit dye probably. That is what chainsaw community uses.
@@OliverofAllTrades thank you! I appreciate the reply 👍
How has the color held up
That was cool
Could you re-dye it red to restore the original color? Or would it mess up the black portions?
You can’t dye it to anything lighter.

any chance to clean the translucent cap ???
Why does everyone always use black? Do other colors work fine or does the existing color of the tool do weird things to the dye?
once you go black you never go back
I doubt the dye would affect the label. If that’s so, no need to remove it.
Can this be done in bright colors?
It can only be darker than the original color

Rit Black synthetic dye
It looks like a Star Wars laser blaster at the end 😅
How awesome, such a great work 👍👍
Nice.. I would do this, but my tools get nasty so quick it’s not worth my time
what is the poder at 2:04 ???
Soap
Nice job! But I think I would have gone with DeWalt yellow instead of black.
You can’t dye a red into a lighter color, only darker
Thats so cool! What was that little adhesive sticker you used?

Why out the big ugly sticker back on? You already voided the warranty
Removing a sticker cannot void warranty and neither can disassembly as long as you do not damage any parts in the process.
But, why!
Different
А нахрена это ноадо было делать для чего ?😮

Very pure job! Shame on you!!! Check your previous videos.
Great work, but it looked uglier.
I think it looks 10 times better in black.
White or sand color would have been way cooler

You just made the whole thing black? 😢 spray paint works too. 😂
Seriously? He demonstrated that the paint penetrates the plastic.
No it doesn’t. It peels off and has zero durability.
@@Sandermaner why in the hell would you do it period?
@@jzrgrmm so fucking what?... WHY?
@@Sandermaner right. But why would you go to all that trouble to do that?!
How to needlessly void your tool warranty.
No need for warranty when you can fix them yourself.
Milwaukee rep on Reddit said they would still honor warranty as long as you don’t damage the tool during the process. Definitely a big caveat but not instantly void at least.
No need for warranty when you cant even buy replacement parts for it easily and it cost a fortune.
