I mean November(2017) is a good movie for a start. While not really horror it gives you a feel for the mythology of the Baltic region( Estonian folk). Else don't know more than already mentioned.
as a russian - i can say that horror/creepypasta are SO popular in russian internet segment and i love that we have our analog horror. it rlly deserve attention as mandela catalogue and actually name of this horror - Centrosiberian Chronicles, not just Siberian and i want YOU to make review to "Царствие Небесное", i think that will broke communities head, its actually creepy thing and necrologues was a usual thing to TV in Russia`s 1990s
Are there any English channels that you think do Russian horror/creepypasta justice? I've tried a few but they all end up having that awful text to speech voice
@@DNGNDrivernah, there definitely aint no channels. Understandable tho, its around 2-3 analog projects in russian out there and they are mid, whats the point.
Царствие Небесное was sadly proven to be a hoax. I mean, there were, and actually still are, a regular necrologues in Russia, and other post-Soviet countries such as Mongolia, but the show itself, purported to have been aired in Altai from 1991 to 1994, was made up by a few people and taken at a face value.
Alright, as a Russian, I'll try to explain some confusing stuff. First of all, the better way to transtale the name of the series would be "Central Sibirean Chronicles" since it's about Centrosibirsk, and you correctly pointed out the etymology of the name of the city at 5:01 12:47 yup, you got it right. Just like there's schizo and schizofrenia in English, there's shiza and shizofrenia in Russian. 25:37 Here a better translation would be: "K.P. is not a mere illness". 27:38 The world Rakosel comes from Rak (Crayfish) and Selo (Village), whick signifies that the incident happened in a village near the Centrosibirsk. 27:44 It really happened, and it wasn't just once. I witnessed it firsthand, although as far as I know, in the past few years during the hijacking attempts the channel stops the usual programming and there's only an animated logo of the channel on the screen. 31:21 In this context, "ration stamps" would a better transaltion instead of "card system". And for those who don't know, Leningrad was the name of Saint-Petersburg during the Soviet era. 33:21 At the start of the 20th century, the Aral Sea was 4th largest lake in the world. However, in 1950s the Soviet government decided to use the water of the lake for plant irrigation. Soon enough, the lake shrunk massively, becoming 10 times smaller and causing the ecological crisis. 36:20 Was the first person to ever read the *illegable text* DNA; not studying the DNA. 37:00 The text here says: Vegetables 800 gramms Cottage cheese 300 gramms Kefir 500 millilitres Fish 150 gramms Black bread 100 gramms Sausage 100 gramms Daily Insulin Please note that this is not insulin for the animals, but the insulin that was produced by the animals. Insulin soluble [pork monocomponent] is an example of said insulin. 40:27 This is a drainage. This being shown means that the water got infected. 44:07 Not Rakosel, but Rokoselovka. 44:28 Directly transtes to "Renamedyetagain". 1:01:01 We get 1201620361311461533121210146, then using А1Б2 we get а т о т в е л а м е н я к к и м е, or А. Т. отвёл меня к Киме, which likely means and transaltes as A. T. Nol led me to Kima. Great video, enjoyed watching it very much. Look forward to next video!
Thank you so much! I wrote it in the description that I translated the name of the series like this because that's what the creators named it in the first videos, I guess it's just more catchy. Some of the stuff you pointed out is definitely gonna be useful for the next time. For example it seems I've underestimated the importance of Kima in all of this...
46:27 actually, not "Chemist", but "drugstore" (аптека) 1:13:19 not sure, but - that yellow text may be "защитный" (protective) according to 1:26:10 the surname of those characters must be Черёмушкин/Черёмушкина (che-RYO-moosh-kee-nah), with the emphasis on ё - formed from "черёмуха" (bird cherry)
I am not in the least surprised that Russians can make fantastically dark and terrifyingly simple and cheap horror. Analog and found footage are genres that seem MADE for Russian filmmakers.
I'm only 5 min in, but wanted to say how much I appreciate this content. As a Polish gal who moved to the US in her late 20s, I made it my point to share cool stuff about our corner of the world. People here (and majority of the Western world really) have no idea how Central and Eastern European countries look and feel. The fact you just undertook translating an entire heckin project from another language (and culture!) to make it accessible to the English-speaking folks -- hats off to you, my man. My, Słowianie -- wszyscy Słowianie -- powinniśmy trzymać się razem. Może pewnego dnia.
can confirm as an american who has never left the country that i rlly don't know what central/eastern europe is like, and im very curious about it! im so glad i can experience this awesome analog horror thanks to this guy, since i don't know nearly enough russian yet to understand it myself lol
So it's not a theory but my thoughts of inspirations. In the 90s there was a russian TV program "Fith wheel" which once had a joke episode dedicated to the conspiracy theory that Lenin was a fungus and a radiowave. I think it may be a source of fungus/radio connections in Centrosibirsk.
that footage was one of many performances of Sergey Kuryokhin (Сергей Курёхин), an underground artist of '90s he was also a frontman of "Поп-механика" band
44:28 The Vnovperimennovannai str is actually hillarious, because it translates like "Renamed-again str". In post soviet countries the names of the streets are changed too often by the authoreties (because of decommunisation or other shit) and it always confuses a lot of people, so it just became gag. For example, the prospect in my home-town was supposed to be renamed for "Billy Harington`s prospect" in case you don`t know Harington is a famous gay pron actor (Gachi-Muchi to be exact). And the reason behind all of this is that citizens got tired of it being constantly renamed so they created a petition to rename it once and for all. This shit is wild
Also I really enjoyed the work you did with tha translation from russian and (especially) the pronounciation of russian words and names/surenames, you sounded basically like a native speaker. The work done is surely titanic and it dives you into the ivents and culture so much. This is awesome, thank you a lot
Very cool video! I wanna point out a couple of little things about music. At two point I noticed and recognized two slowed down famous Soviet songs: 31:46 «Собака бывает кусачей»(A dog may bite) from Soviet cartoon «Большой секрет для маленькой компании»(A big secret for a little group). It’s a song about how a dog will only bite if it’s treated like a dog. In Russian “being treated like a dog” doesn’t mean being overworked, just being treated badly in general. Cool choice of song to play when little girls talks about her father beating her. Wonder how she bites back. (A beautiful far away) from 1985 movie «Гостья из будущего»(A guest from the future). It’s a wonderful song, everyone knows it. It’s clearly recognizable from even two notes. And with it being so famous there’s a certain Mandela effect associated with it: There’s another song «Ветер перемен»(The wind of change) from 1983 Soviet Mary Poppins movie. While these songs sound different they have very similar vibes and people constantly mix which song comes from which movie and the titles of the songs. Unless person actively thinks about lyrics they are extremely likely to switch the tunes around when asked to hum one of them. And I just love that this song started playing after Anastasia said the phrase “trust in the winds of change” Another thing, not music related, I want to point out: DON’T MIX MUSHROOMS AND ALCOHOL And I’m not talking about ~shrooms~, I’m talking any type of fungi. A lot of mushrooms have peculiar reactions with alcohol. Some die, some become poisonous, some fungi have a growth spur after watering them with alcohol, some don’t care at all. A mix of certain mushrooms with alcohol is the first antiseptic known to men. Don’t clean fungi with alcohol and if you want to eat mushrooms while drinking first check if the specific mushrooms you’re eating should be mixed with alcohol. Morels shouldn’t, for example. I wonder if the author knew about it when writing Priyabrozhinsky. If he is both infected and drinks a lot the infection inside of him may function differently from all other cases. Simply on the grounds of him being a drunk.
this is such a good video, and I'm so interested by analog horror that isn't 'western' based. never would have known something so interesting existed- stuff like this really motivates me to learn languages, because otherwise I'd never come across a series like this much less be able to see how good it really is. thank you for making this video, both you and the creator deserve so much more attention!
Damn, even as somebody who browses Russian internet, I haven't come across this gem. It does hit very close to home, since I grew up in Western Siberia.
The way you voice the footage is amazing (also, sorry if this is weird to say but i like your accent 😭). This is genuinely creeping me out, even though it's just voice overs and footage. Thank you for this video!!!❤
45:58 I listened to this segment over and over. Long ago, this is what I imagined the poem to sound like, before being let down by my literature professor, who read it with a booming voice that was very unlike him.
I just got recommended this and was thrilled to have a new Analog Horror to watch. I love your humor, editing style and overall composition of this video! I like that you put subtitles at the bottom of some parts, made it easier to track! Subscribed and so excited to see more from you!
You have INCREDIBLE narratorial skills and this video was so high quality!!!! I appreciate the work you put into this, and as others have said, the built-in subtitled were fantastic and very helpful!! I wish you luck with your channel :D
i would love for you to show us some more russian analogue horror and translate it, i love that you're making this accessible for us as international viewers!
I’m so glad I found this video! The series looks very promising, it’s very interesting so far. I really like seeing how people take ideas that are sort of the same but different, like the idea of a mind-altering virus of some kind, and construct an interesting and deep story around it, with their unique style. Thank you so much for the translations and very in-depth coverage. The effects on your voice, the way you pitched your voice for each character, the hardcoded subtitles, they all are such excellent details that add to the high quality of this analysis!❤
I am still at the intro, so haven't even finished the vid but I must add two things. 1. Absolutely love your voice, amazing energy. 2. So far, the beginning feels like a story about atom towns like Sarov but with a biological twist. (On that note I feel the need to add a book rec if you are interested in the topic called люди объекта, which is a collection of short letters by people who did live in an atom town. It isn't scary or anything, I just felt like it would be an enjoyable read.)
Considering TNO is basically russias worst case scenario i think an analog horror based on that would be cool specifically taboritsky and his "holy russian empire"
Holy moly, the YT algorythm never misses! Such a nice find, man! This is an amazing quality video! I hope you get more subs and views in the future, so keep at it!
As a huge fun of horror and also currently learning Russian because of my love for Russian history, this was so great to watch ! I am really looking forward to keep on watching more of your content ❤
Fascinating video and series! Thanks for translating and sharing it! As for the Aral Sea part, that's a big lake, or rather was, which shrank from heat and overuse within a fairly short time if memory serves right. Quite tragic.
as a russian, i really appreciate this review, thanks! and I mean, like...on basis of Russian culture/aesthetics/events etc many very decent horror films, analog horror series, TV-series could be made. This is the sad irony huh... However, really talented people who could make this don't have enough resources and time for that, so they prefer to write creepypasta, it's kinda sad :(
This channel is such a nice find I'm 100% certain you'll end up as one of the best ones in this niche just for the production value and your great cadence alone
Fascinating to have a story use doppelgängers as a sort of positive force, an apology for the harm done by the entity previously (probably misunderstanding but it gave me that feeling)
Oh my now I remember! Because this vid I watched the whole series, I even noted down a russian poem from it! I'm so goint to follow you, your taste is impeccable!
Thank you for doing this well put together translation and analysis! As someone who loves analog horror, I think it's wonderful to have a whole new area of this genre available to those of us who do not speak Russian. Please keep doing these, especially the new episodes of this series, but also any others you find. Even if they are bad it's still interesting. I did have a few thoughts/questions: did the Soviet Union stop sending supplies to the city because of the collapse of the USSR or because they knew the area was infected? When you mentioned some of the scrolling text at the bottom mentioned "selling fossils" I wondered if that too might have contributed to the spread of the illness since they later found fossils that were deformed from KP. Furry snakes are a type of cryptid though I don't know if the authors were referencing that. I work in health care and the name of the device "Karmativ" (I think?) reminded me that there is a class of medications called "carminatives" though they are usually used to prevent or treat intestinal gas or flatulence. I don't know if that was again intentional by the creators or just a coincidence. Thanks again for a great video and I hope to see more in the future!
This series is a really cool one, I wish I could speak Russian so I could keep up with it myself. The basic premise of an isolated village fallen into hunger and disease after being abandoned reminds me a lot of the Pathologic games, and then when it becomes a story about secret government programs it does it in a pretty interesting way
as a fellow russian scary stuff fan id like to add something: for me, a native russian speaker, russian phrases in the original sound a bit… off. for example, phrase “im very busy right now” wouldn’t have this exact order of words in native russian, we’re more likely to say “im right now very busy”. the phrase “when i got up my pillow was […]” in russian have this order: “i got up afterwards and the pillow […]”, but we’re more likely to say “afterwards i got up […]”. im sure it doesnt have anything with the story, just an interesting observation for someone who would be particularly interested in russian linguistics xD
and by the way its SO REFRESHING to see a foreign language speaker who has NO ACCENT in russian and have a very deep understanding of small details of my native beloved language! fulfill my curiosity dear sire: how did you manage to master russian? if its not a secret of course. i just felt like im at home when i heard you saying russian names without a slightest mistake🥺
am sure there more to the videos but the fact the first tape still refers to the USSR as if it still exist after it collapsed in a good way to show they really isolated and don't have the internet (it would just been releasing publically) (I think it takes place after 1991)
this is a pretty cool series that i hope to see more coverage of in the future. I’ve been considering making a series of my own, but i haven’t thought everything out just yet.
Idk if it's been expressly mentioned, but I have a feeling that Priobrazhensky's name is not random. It's pretty common in classic russian literature to give characters last names that are kind of like nicknames that reveal some sort of theme (For example the MC in Crime and Punishment is named Raskolnikov; 'Raskol' can be loosely translated as 'schism', which is symbolic of the character's fragmented mental state). Given that, Priobrazhensky's name seems lynked to the whole pygmalion thing seeing how 'priobrazhenie' means something like 'manifestation' or 'visualisation' (Literally 'taking the form of an image').
Transfiguration, it's the last name that the Russian Orthodox priests were given to distinguish them from the rest of the populace, other examples would be Arkhangelsky (archangel), Voskresensky (resurrection), Voznesensky (ascension), etc.
Huh, fascinating I didn't know! Though I thought this might have been a nod to one of the main characters in Bulgakov's scifi novel "heart of a dog" who was a doctor conducting dubious medical experiments
props for being a translator of material written in other languages who actively includes your translation notes in the script, it's not often people leave an openness in their writings like that
Great video!! What an interesting series! Feels like it fits right in with classic Russian/soviet scifi. Also…did anyone else feel like there were similarities to Brussof’s short story Republic of the Southern Cross? I couldn’t stop noticing at least surface level parallels.
27:38 Rakosel is definetly not a real hijacking and I think not an urban legend either. If I remember correctly, it was originally a joke creepypasta that was taken too seriously by some people. "Rakosel" is a deformed version of "Karusel" and it sounds goofy(I'm Russian)
46:53 I almost want to say that’s a synapsid skull, mammals before mammals sort of. Closest I can find but might not be an exact match is inostrancevia, a skull found in Siberia russia and South Africa.
I would guess that the RAY beings are called RAY due to being somehow interconnected to UV Light as it's made from waves which radio wavelengths and ur day to day phones are using to be able to communicate over a vast space, which I would guess is why their able to interact/modify/affect any electronic devices as we can see. For the second thing, I believe that the "mutated talking cow" that was staring at the camera, is the Priobrazhensky, like mind controlling it, you might also wonder why am I saying it, he seems to be pointed out in the series that he got infected pretty firsthead on by the Infection and as you explained it yourself, he broke out of the "hivemind" mentality but he is still included in it, which is why I would believe he has some control over the infection, seeing as how the mutated cow started speaking about "give me my daughter back" or something similar to that. Third of all, the infection seems to be everchanging, like you said, it would make sense that the infection would've started with the unearthing of the fossils, due to fossils needing a certain requirement to be fossilised and that is that they must either become buried in an aqueous environment like a lake or a river to be able to be fossilised, as I believe that's how it infected the cows, as the water was already "infected" by maybe by PK0 or PK1, which is why nobody realized, and that PK1 was on the fossils which triggered the PK0 to be awoke, and maybe that the water got into the drinking grounds for cows or maybe the "meat" that consumed the water maybe got infected beforehand without realizing.
I don't know about the whole RAY thing, like the origin of the name makes sense, but explained this way it almost makes it seem like they're not "physical" beings, but idk. As for the cow, that's definitely an interesting theory, and the parallel is obviously there, I though she was just asking for her calf back, because the research team took it, but it could be something more. At the same time we see that David (Preobrazhensky's son) is one of the victims, and I don't know if Nikolai would go as far as to kill him (although from the drawings we see they had a violent relationship so who knows). As for KP's spread I think that the timeline is a bit wonky, but the way you described it makes sense, I'm also wondering if the droughts from 80-84 had something to do with it.
@@Muldered Yeah, I thought the same thing but, for the theory for RAY, im explaining it cus the brain's neurons also have somewhat of their own "wavelength", everything you perceive with ur eye is in a certain wavelength, as for how you said by how they described them, the way we would apply that logic would be somewhat that the creatures are entirely made out of wavelength, which would be probably impossible, but im not sure, as something conscious needs to have not just a "wavelength" of its own, but also a physical body.
@@Muldered as for the daughter, it seems kind of weird, in a way i cannot explain it, like the only daughter he probably has is the mom of Anna (correct me if im wrong), which if we did think about it, it's as if he's asking for her to be back, in a way of "pulling out" of the project
@@Muldered as for my theory, the RAY beings seem to disturb a special kind of wavelength in the brain called gamma waves, which measure between 25 and 100 Hz, are the fastest wavelength brain waves that are linked to activities such as learning, problem-solving, and information processing.
Honestly Thinking about the first shown case of KP It’s… WAAAAYYY more terrifying than Last Of Us Like… waking up one day You look in the mirror Your mouth is just suddenly… deformed A week passes, you are BARELY recognisable The thought of just… losing your own face and not being able to breathe It’s a bit too much for me… I’ve watched a Chinese horror about losing your identity before *I HAD GOOSEBUMPS EVERYWHERE-* But not just that You can literally end up being unrecognisable, and potentially die from the malformations But let’s be real Cooler than Last of Us’ fungal infection concept
Dude, what the hell. I m big fan of analogue horror and im from Russia, never heard of these series! Ty so much for showing that, also chech Магнитошахтинский архив its worse than that, but still good. Also, both your Russian and English is so good!

35:51 "дружная" in "дружная семья" does not mean friendly. the phrase "дружня семья" implies that the bond between people in the community is really strong, so it should rougly translate to "happy family", "close-knit family" or "devoted family".
Russian here✌🏻 Your pronunciation is so good I'm honestly shocked. As far as I watched, everything sounds perfect. And babushka with an emphasis on first A, finally.😌
Hey Muldered. It's been a long time since I've left a comment in someone's video (usually, i just watch). But anyways i just wanted to say that i really like your videos and the way you make them. Can't wait to see some more and also if i can leave a suggestion. That suggestion is The House of Leaves. It's a book that a lot of people are calling the father of liminal space, and i think you might like it.
Thank you very much!! I've read and thoroughly enjoyed HoL, and I've thought about making a video on it, but it would be a complete mess at this point of my capabilities, maybe someday though!

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Where is the Adidas Tracksuit Analog Horror we all deserve?
Romania exists
as a russian - i can say that horror/creepypasta are SO popular in russian internet segment
and i love that we have our analog horror. it rlly deserve attention as mandela catalogue
and actually name of this horror - Centrosiberian Chronicles, not just Siberian
and i want YOU to make review to "Царствие Небесное", i think that will broke communities head, its actually creepy thing and necrologues was a usual thing to TV in Russia`s 1990s
Eastern Europe is actually a pretty terrifying concept if used properly in horror. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R series are good examples.
Lmao
Makes sense, since it was often terrifying outside of horror
Its a terrifying place in general

@@kathiecraig2803 MARKED ONE, WHAT THE HELL?!
High quality one hour video with BUILT IN SUBTITLES?!?!?!! You are my savior….
Alright, as a Russian, I'll try to explain some confusing stuff.
First of all, the better way to transtale the name of the series would be "Central Sibirean Chronicles" since it's about Centrosibirsk, and you correctly pointed out the etymology of the name of the city at 5:01
12:47 yup, you got it right.
37:00 The text here says:
Vegetables 800 gramms
Cottage cheese 300 gramms
Kefir 500 millilitres
Fish 150 gramms
Black bread 100 gramms
Sausage 100 gramms
Daily
Insulin
Please note that this is not insulin for the animals, but the insulin that was produced by the animals.
46:27 actually, not "Chemist", but "drugstore" (аптека)
1:13:19 not sure, but - that yellow text may be "защитный" (protective)
according to 1:26:10 the surname of those characters must be Черёмушкин/Черёмушкина (che-RYO-moosh-kee-nah), with the emphasis on ё - formed from "черёмуха" (bird cherry)
@@deniskhafizov6827 36:20 A.T. Nol was the first person to read fossil DNA (e.g ammonites, ancient ferns, etc.)

You mean Magnitoshahtinskaya oblast?
So it's not a theory but my thoughts of inspirations. In the 90s there was a russian TV program "Fith wheel" which once had a joke episode dedicated to the conspiracy theory that Lenin was a fungus and a radiowave. I think it may be a source of fungus/radio connections in Centrosibirsk.
That's fucking genius
that footage was one of many performances of Sergey Kuryokhin (Сергей Курёхин), an underground artist of '90s
he was also a frontman of "Поп-механика" band
At two point I noticed and recognized two slowed down famous Soviet songs:
31:46 «Собака бывает кусачей»(A dog may bite) from Soviet cartoon «Большой секрет для маленькой компании»(A big secret for a little group).
And with it being so famous there’s a certain Mandela effect associated with it:
There’s another song «Ветер перемен»(The wind of change) from 1983 Soviet Mary Poppins movie. While these songs sound different they have very similar vibes and people constantly mix which song comes from which movie and the titles of the songs. Unless person actively thinks about lyrics they are extremely likely to switch the tunes around when asked to hum one of them. And I just love that this song started playing after Anastasia said the phrase “trust in the winds of change”
Another thing, not music related, I want to point out:
DON’T MIX MUSHROOMS AND ALCOHOL
And I’m not talking about ~shrooms~, I’m talking any type of fungi.
I love seeing more obscure analog horror, if I see another MC or MM analysis I'll die
this is such a good video, and I'm so interested by analog horror that isn't 'western' based. never would have known something so interesting existed- stuff like this really motivates me to learn languages, because otherwise I'd never come across a series like this much less be able to see how good it really is.
thank you for making this video, both you and the creator deserve so much more attention!

I just got recommended this and was thrilled to have a new Analog Horror to watch. I love your humor, editing style and overall composition of this video! I like that you put subtitles at the bottom of some parts, made it easier to track! Subscribed and so excited to see more from you!

However, really talented people who could make this don't have enough resources and time for that, so they prefer to write creepypasta, it's kinda sad :(
This channel is such a nice find
I'm 100% certain you'll end up as one of the best ones in this niche just for the production value and your great cadence alone

a breath of fresh air from the typical analog horror. Hope you makes more about this kind.
I love your voice for narration and your thoughts oh man the last analog that you showed with the blue backround.
This series is a really cool one, I wish I could speak Russian so I could keep up with it myself. The basic premise of an isolated village fallen into hunger and disease after being abandoned reminds me a lot of the Pathologic games, and then when it becomes a story about secret government programs it does it in a pretty interesting way
Just found this channel😮 I really like how you made this video and I hope to see more of you
Thank you for the video
as a fellow russian scary stuff fan id like to add something: for me, a native russian speaker, russian phrases in the original sound a bit… off. for example, phrase “im very busy right now” wouldn’t have this exact order of words in native russian, we’re more likely to say “im right now very busy”. the phrase “when i got up my pillow was […]” in russian have this order: “i got up afterwards and the pillow […]”, but we’re more likely to say “afterwards i got up […]”. im sure it doesnt have anything with the story, just an interesting observation for someone who would be particularly interested in russian linguistics xD
and by the way its SO REFRESHING to see a foreign language speaker who has NO ACCENT in russian and have a very deep understanding of small details of my native beloved language! fulfill my curiosity dear sire: how did you manage to master russian? if its not a secret of course. i just felt like im at home when i heard you saying russian names without a slightest mistake🥺
am sure there more to the videos but the fact the first tape still refers to the USSR as if it still exist after it collapsed in a good way to show they really isolated and don't have the internet (it would just been releasing publically) (I think it takes place after 1991)
Not done with it yet, but I love it! You introduced me to this Russian Analog Horror and I love it! Thanks. ^-^
it's cool to see analog horror from other countries. all of the big ones are very centered around america or american life
this is a pretty cool series that i hope to see more coverage of in the future. I’ve been considering making a series of my own, but i haven’t thought everything out just yet.
YES!!! When you live in Eastern Europe, analog horror just hits so much better when it's based around the region you live in.
u got big channel quality i rlly hope you get big bro this shit is phenomenal
ps siberean greentexts from /x/ would be the shit
I'm always happy to see more non-american analogue horror. It's usually more unique.
I cant even tell you how i got thrown to my childhood with that old pewdiepie intro.
i only speak English and will probably never learn another language
so thank you for making this video it was fun :)
props for being a translator of material written in other languages who actively includes your translation notes in the script, it's not often people leave an openness in their writings like that
this is epic bro keep up the good work
Great video!! What an interesting series! Feels like it fits right in with classic Russian/soviet scifi. Also…did anyone else feel like there were similarities to Brussof’s short story Republic of the Southern Cross? I couldn’t stop noticing at least surface level parallels.
Love the video keep up the good work
I just found your channel. I can't thank you enough for translating these. It looked awesome, but I don't speak any Russian.
27:38 Rakosel is definetly not a real hijacking and I think not an urban legend either. If I remember correctly, it was originally a joke creepypasta that was taken too seriously by some people. "Rakosel" is a deformed version of "Karusel" and it sounds goofy(I'm Russian)
Sadly, in childhood I thought it was real

very long video but very cool analog horror. love your stuff man
I love how people from other countries can make analog videos also I’m definitely watch old videos
Honestly
Thinking about the first shown case of KP
It’s… WAAAAYYY more terrifying than Last Of Us
Like… waking up one day
You look in the mirror
Your mouth is just suddenly… deformed
A week passes, you are BARELY recognisable
The thought of just… losing your own face and not being able to breathe
It’s a bit too much for me…
I’ve watched a Chinese horror about losing your identity before
*I HAD GOOSEBUMPS EVERYWHERE-*
But not just that
You can literally end up being unrecognisable, and potentially die from the malformations
But let’s be real
Cooler than Last of Us’ fungal infection concept

35:51 "дружная" in "дружная семья" does not mean friendly. the phrase "дружня семья" implies that the bond between people in the community is really strong, so it should rougly translate to "happy family", "close-knit family" or "devoted family".

Hey Muldered. It's been a long time since I've left a comment in someone's video (usually, i just watch). But anyways i just wanted to say that i really like your videos and the way you make them. Can't wait to see some more and also if i can leave a suggestion. That suggestion is The House of Leaves.
