I got the level 3 dual motor mount on my 6x6 with my 55 turn motors. It has alot of power. Thanks for helping me with the advice and for the video. Your awesome.
Yea. We can appreciate the experts at work who do a really good job, and only wish we can build or have something like this. amazing.... Lets see some drama, music, and showing of this rig. Bet you'll get over a 100,000 hits if you do so. cheers.
One of the most well-done videos I've ever seen. Thank you. I'm getting my first SCX10 crawler this Christmas and always wanted a 6X6. This project will be my first that doesn't go fast. Up till now only Monster, Stadium and Short Course Trucks
ya...You'll prefer that. That way you still have an option to run the SCX10 if you want. When I go trailing I always bring both. I back pack the rig I'm not running.
a cab over box truck would look cool ,and havent seen too many of those , i did this with a wk and made a tube frame the axial looks way easier . looks good love the vids
like I replied to your previous comments. I'm my own guy. I do watch DJmedic but I dont explicitly watch him. If you really want to know the idea for this 6x6 is from axial they have a write up on building it. You should check it out. On that note if you look @ our rigs you can see that they are totally different. Regardless the main thing here is the negativity is not needed. You dont like it don't watch. The RC community is all about sharing and that's what I'm doing sharing.
Thanks. I built it. It's two transmission halves. I used two halves with the output shaft hole. Then you need one extra output shaft/bevel gear and you know have an axles with two outputs.
I subscribed and gave you a thumbs up because I like the fast forward action through the build but most of all, your innovation...some spares and a new kit to build a totally neat 6x6. Let me go find the test drive .....
I built it out of two halves of the standard axle, you need to use the halves with the output shaft holes. This way you get the output shaft on both sides of the axle. Then you need a second beval gear and output shaft to mirror the output on both sides.
that looked alot easier then i thought it would be! looks sweet man! you should add the lift peace that mounts where the shocks are just to give it alittle more clearance....
You need to flip the axles that isn't turning the same directions as the other. When I say flip I mean tire over tire so that the axles spin in the same direction.
It's two output halves of the axle. You will need to sets of axles housing and only use the ones with the output shaft. you will need a full set of axle gears and then 1 extra output shaft and 1 extra bevel gear and 1 E-clip
Yes that would work. Check out axial website and search 6x6. It will give you all the parts that you need for the build. That being said you could keep your Honcho RTR and then build a 6x6 with the kit. Once you have the kit or the RTR you don't need much more than a 3rd axle. But I hear ya with trying to do it with what you got. My idea is all depending on the budget your working with.
Dude great Idea to build a 6x6 and your video gives alot of info on it!! Love the 6x6! I think im ganna do one also some what simular to urs but im ganna use 2 dingo kits to make mine! Thxs for the idea!
Sorry it's not for sale. search on axial's site or google for "axial 6x6" and they have a post on the exact build I did. The link is directly to axials blog page. All the part numbers are listed. I can't post the url because youtube blocks them and I can't post the part list because of the limit of characters I can use.
it keeps the axle from shifting side to side given that the second axle is only connected to the frame by the shocks. If i didn't use the pan hard the axle wouldn't track straight
Robert Burgos The xr10 is not a trail rigs so I wouldn't use it for that. 2nd the xr10 are discontinue to your lucky if you can still buy them. I do have 2 xr10 but I wouldn't use them on the trails.
check out axial site and search for 6x6. All the material list will be on that site. I can't really say how much it cost me. I parted an old kit and then I used a brand new kit but loads of stuff left over
I went back to my original designs • (1) AX30518 98mm grey links (lower links from chassis to 2nd axle) • (1) AX30524 91mm grey links (lower links from 2nd to 3rd axle) • (1) AXA1430 65mm grey links (upper links from chassis to 2nd axle) • (1) AX30516 106mm grey links (upper links from 2nd to 3rd axle)
Sorry I realize this is a very old vid ,but im building a 6x6 crawler currently, usuing scx10 3 straight axles and an Ebay heavy metal pass thru middle axle ,once everything's connected the front and middle wheels turn correctly but the last 2 rear wheels are spinning the opposite direction, how did you get all 6 of your moving in unison? I'm at a loss , Thank you
The axle that isn’t spinning in the right direction flip it over end for end. You have to disconnect the suspension links and shocks but once you do it will be spinning in sync.
@shawnroy81 okay I wasn't sure if you did that or not in your video, I actually tried going that route with mine but the truss and link mounts can't be removed it's all one molded piece so I have no way to connect the upper links ? I can Jimmy a way for the lower links and shocks to connect but the axle just flips all around without the upper link to hold it in place ? I can't believe there isn't a better fix for this ,how the heck did they build the UMG 6x6 before it was Discontinued or how does Traxxas do there 6x6 lol ?
Mind me asking which you prefer better, the 4x4 version or the custom 6x6 version? Im going to build one from the ground up and wasnt sure which I should do. Ive never owned a trail truck before
hmmm, i assembled the middle axle. But when the shaft spins one way, the other spins the other. Making 4 wheels moving forwards, and two moving backwards. What's the problem?
Hey Shawn, I want a new truck but I don't know which one to get. I want a dingo then I will build it to a 6x6. I did calculations and the the dingo with all the parts I need will cost around $700 and I was thinking for that price should I just get a axial xr10.
Alright well I appreciate your honesty maybe I should build one of each :D. Ha. But I am curious, is there any like major drawback to the 6x6. Like anything that makes it particularly more difficult to handle offroad? Obviously a larger turning radius but I plan to make all 3 axles steering axles to combat that
Bro I'm building a 6x6 right now but when I did my middle diff I shaved that thin lip that goes around that would normally fit into the other side did you do the same thing ? And those links that go to the back diff man trying to get that mess sorted out was a pain in the but lol
I will will be doing this to mine once I get it. Do you think the stock motor will be alright pulling the extra weight? I have a scx10 jeep wrangler unlimited Rubicon and the stock motor on that seems to be good but I want to upgrade soon.
Thanks for commenting back. I built mine and got the 55 turn axial motor. It seems good but I think I am gonna put a second one for extreme hill climbs.
I got the level 3 dual motor mount on my 6x6 with my 55 turn motors. It has alot of power. Thanks for helping me with the advice and for the video. Your awesome.
cool cool...glad it worked out
In 2023 I put a Dual motor set up in my scx10ii. I love the old school innovations.
Yea. We can appreciate the experts at work who do a really good job, and only wish we can build or have something like this. amazing.... Lets see some drama, music, and showing of this rig. Bet you'll get over a 100,000 hits if you do so. cheers.

Shawnroy, once again you have showed us how to do it right..... Good Job on showing us details. It's a little fast. but still good to go.
2left thumbs thanks..appreciate it
Very cool that rig is a BEAST! Can't wait to see it in action!
ya...You'll prefer that. That way you still have an option to run the SCX10 if you want. When I go trailing I always bring both. I back pack the rig I'm not running.

Heck ya looking good already can't wait to see the rest
Thanks. I built it. It's two transmission halves. I used two halves with the output shaft hole. Then you need one extra output shaft/bevel gear and you know have an axles with two outputs.

Thanks. I hear that. I was trying to get it done quick and on the trails. I will probably revisiting the frame build later.
Thanks. It was a pretty easy build and it's surprisingly capable on the trails
I have both a regular SCX10 and then the SCX10 6x6. I would replace one with the other. They both have there ups
Wow Bro awesome build! thanks for lets us know how to make a 6x6 this is great!
You need to flip the axles that isn't turning the same directions as the other. When I say flip I mean tire over tire so that the axles spin in the same direction.
Good job guy-well done.I will try it -i love thos trucks.
+Der Oberharzer thanks

Can't wait till I can get a bloddy job and start being able to buy rc more often! Also great vid!
i hear ya

awesome video! thanks for the inspiration
Thanks...Appreciate the feedback. Glad that the vid helped
Dude that is sooooooo cool. Great job!

no prob. If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask.
I used two halves with the output shaft hole

dude! Sick build. Always wanted to do a 6X6 or 8X8, Maybe one day.
Fantastic build! SUBSCRIBED!!
thanks...appreciate it
Thanks...appreciate the positive feedback
thanks bud...Should be soon
Wow never mind bro you did your rear links totally different I like how you did it cool
thanks
you should put the vanquish dig so you can have four wheel drive in the rear or six wheel drive
All the links are listed on axials website.
I was leaning in that direction or maybe a tamiya hard body
you make everything look so easy :)
it keeps the axle from shifting side to side given that the second axle is only connected to the frame by the shocks. If i didn't use the pan hard the axle wouldn't track straight
I get where you're coming from, i get antsy that way too. I didnt mean to sound harsh. Looks Great still!
Thanks Appreciate the kind words...I just subbed to you. You've got some great content.
amazing video and lots of info thanks
thanks...appreciate the feedback
You should get the dig from vanquish and put it on the front
Ya that would look good. Thanks
you are good with rc thats one thing like
thanks...appreciate the feedback
thumbs up build and narration, too many guys go regular speed with um's and repeats
I'm using my Vanquish Dig in another rig currently.
ya but I rather keep the back solid axle. The turning radius isn't really that bad
thanks
can you make a separate video on how to build the rear and can you make a list of the parts
simple. thats always good
Very cool 2 Thumbs up
thanks
Ok im building a 6x6 but when I got it together one of the axles went the opposite direction as the other 2, what part am I missing??
the ax10 will do just fine
Ever thought of rear steer also? So you can turn better.
I have had now issues with my panhard so I'm thinking its fine.
thanks for share ~~~wait the moive so long
LOL
appreciate that
thanks. Appreciate that bud

I'd like the see if I could use a redcat gen 7 and the spare parts from an e10
Can you make a more detailed video on how you build the double output rear axle?
I will once I have cleared my work bench. To many project in Queue these days
Realy nice bro...
hey how much was your toatal cost of the build? and i make custom tire chains if you need some cheap
On a stock scx10 the rear upper links are attached to the chassis. Do u think what will be better so not as much pressure to the panhard?
That's awesome!
Okay thanks for the advise
And what are the new lengths for the links now?
I went back to my original designs
• (1) AX30518 98mm grey links (lower links from chassis to 2nd axle)
• (1) AX30524 91mm grey links (lower links from 2nd to 3rd axle)
• (1) AXA1430 65mm grey links (upper links from chassis to 2nd axle)
• (1) AX30516 106mm grey links (upper links from 2nd to 3rd axle)

Like the build! Not liking the frame extensions, could have been a bit cleaner than smashing it together with the bolt. Cool rig though.
I know u get a lot but I'm not sure if it's right but both my output shafts turn opposite of each other. is that right?
Okay thanks !
Mind me asking which you prefer better, the 4x4 version or the custom 6x6 version? Im going to build one from the ground up and wasnt sure which I should do. Ive never owned a trail truck before
i like them both. Can't really say. I need both in my collection
Thanks...Appreciate it
What axel did u run up side down the rear ?
i did this a few months back but wheels rotated in different directions what did i do wrong?
sick!
Wear did you get that middle axle from ? Great vid
nice vid bro, u get straight to it.....
thanks...appreciate it
Is the 6x6 worth couse I got the new jeep kit and I have the honcho should i make it a6x6 or just leave them and do individual upgrades
Did u cut the lip off the diff on the
Could u explain how u put together the center axle ?
And would one honcho rtr and ine jeep builders kit be able to make the 6x6
the rear axle I ran upside down
hmmm, i assembled the middle axle. But when the shaft spins one way, the other spins the other. Making 4 wheels moving forwards, and two moving backwards.
What's the problem?
flip the rear 3rd axle and issues fixed. That's how mine is too.
shawnroy81 Thanks for the super quick reply!! :) Works perfectly :)
Yeah spare parts are always good are you using the stock driveshafts
in another build I am
Hey Shawn, I want a new truck but I don't know which one to get. I want a dingo then I will build it to a 6x6. I did calculations and the the dingo with all the parts I need will cost around $700 and I was thinking for that price should I just get a axial xr10.
Cool thanks
how do u make or where do u buy the middle axil? with drive shafts on both sides?
its two output halves of the axle. You need an extra bevel gear and output shaft
So I did this to mine. I found that I had to installe the rear axle upside down to spin the correct way. How did you get yours to work?
yes I also ended up flip mine to get the right axle rotation
Alright well I appreciate your honesty maybe I should build one of each :D. Ha. But I am curious, is there any like major drawback to the 6x6. Like anything that makes it particularly more difficult to handle offroad? Obviously a larger turning radius but I plan to make all 3 axles steering axles to combat that
other than the turning radius its extremely capable.
I can't seem to make the rear pan hard bar work ??
All I used was a stock 30 degree bent link. It wasnt 100%. I ended up buying a Leve3RC panhard that's been working great for me.
I love those rear wheels. What are they?
Unclear on the center Diff output shafts did you just mate two output halves and add out dirve?
that is correct
whats the panhard thing for? thanks
Having a second out drive on the middle axle, wouldn't that make the last axle turn in reverse? If so how did you remedy this.
The last axle is flip 180 to fix that problem.
Ok, sounds simple. Thanks for the fast reply:)
Bro I'm building a 6x6 right now but when I did my middle diff I shaved that thin lip that goes around that would normally fit into the other side did you do the same thing ? And those links that go to the back diff man trying to get that mess sorted out was a pain in the but lol
yes I had to clean them up a bit. the par hard bar took time to set it up properly
shawnroy81
sorry pan hard bar
I will will be doing this to mine once I get it. Do you think the stock motor will be alright pulling the extra weight? I have a scx10 jeep wrangler unlimited Rubicon and the stock motor on that seems to be good but I want to upgrade soon.
i went with the dual motor mount right away because the weight of the 6x6
Thanks for commenting back. I built mine and got the 55 turn axial motor. It seems good but I think I am gonna put a second one for extreme hill climbs.
cool cool....let me know how it goes
