soo much attention to detail every where. this woulda drove me crazy to set up that many different scenes and that much time to film each one during one epic build. awesome all around
Thanks for the kind words. You're right, it was a major pain to set up and shoot all the scenes. I really just wanted to build and be done, but someone has to teach the newer generations how to do this stuff. ;-)
I wish i could hit the like button 100 times!!! That is epic and amazing.Cant wait to see it running and a cool story, super sweet truck thanks for sharing it with us.
What a fascinating video! I love the concept of doing the build in an rc workshop - I´ve even tried it myself in a humbler way than your masterpiece. I´m particularly impressed that you succeeded so well in getting your actors´ hands to reliably grip props for long enough to be filmed. I hereby claim the honour of offering this video its 605th thumbs up : )
+Del350K4 Thanks Del. Haven't heard from you in a while, glad to see you're still around. I watched your videos with the garages and buildings you made. Looks like you put in quite a bit of effort, well done!
Wow! Thanks very much - coming from you, with your wonderful scale workshop, that means a lot. I loved the scale vice grips and torque wrenches - and I was blown away by the fact that the castors on your tool chests have raised white lettering. I´m also delighted to see that New Bright is still unknowingly supplying beautifully detailed hard bodies to the hobby-grade rc world. It´s become a noble tradition over the years : )
Also, the RC4WD upper 4-link mounts (Part Number Z-S0562) would make it even easier to install these axles as a 4-link setup. I made custom 4-link mounts for my application but theirs would save you the trouble. The axle kit used in the video already comes with the lower 4-link mounts.
Guy St I happened to watch your video after your first post, before you added the link. I guess RUclips is now blocking comments with links until they're approved. I didn't see your other posts until a couple days later in my community tab. I wish they'd stop changing things. Nice job on your Jeep, we have the same body,
I answered this question below but will post it again since it is way down the list. I separated them at the waist joint and used shoe goo to glue them in place. I had to remove some material from the drivers ass and back of his legs to conform to the seat better. Also trimmed where his torso and waist met to lower him down some more and took off his feet too.
Great video & Nice jeep hard body in red i have one in blue & Have a night romp video out but i'm using my k5 frame from vaterra ascender well thumbs up & You all have a great night
Thanks. I separated them at the waist joint and used shoe goo to glue them in place. I had to remove some material from the drivers ass and back of his legs to conform to the seat better. Also trimmed where his torso and waist met to lower him down some more and took off his feet too.
Wow that must have taken a lot of work, that from someone who knows. I'm flattered you were inspired by some of my videos. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
This is amazing! Coolest rig and build video I've seen out here. Great job with the wheel wells and not using the body post to fasten the body to the chassis. How did you go about securing the body to the chassis? I didn't catch that in the vid.
LukeDaUke Thanks. Yes, at 14:49 you can see the front body mount with the Velcro attached to the top, and at 14:41 is the rear. Like you said, if you watch through the video carefully a couple times you can see all the details of building the body mounts and everything else. : )
Dan Campise I'm working on how I'm going to mount mine and am considering Velcro too, but am wondering if it's sticky enough? I watched the first run vid, looks like you got a good bit of thrashing around in , around those sand dunes. How's the body and chassis holding up? Have you had any issues w/ the body popping off?
Hey Dan, by far this is the BEST rc build video I've found. Thanks for your time & dedication of this hobby. The shop scene is so realistic, I would trust 100% my vehicles to not only the Hot owner, but her shop helpers as well... :-) You gave me some ideas on how to use this application for the builds I'm soon to work on. Thanks and keep up the great vids. Liked and subscribed..
+Rafa Rcchannel Thanks! As for the interior, the tan color was already okay and nobody can really see into there anyway. For instance, watch the following trail run video of the truck in action and notice how little of the interior is really visible. ruclips.net/video/WmzrMccZ0ZY/видео.html
Yes that´s right. I just got the same body and I saw a dark brow/black interior, got tempted but my painting skills will probably ruin it lol, so thanks
What's the length of the 4 links. I measured the 16mm for moving the shock tower and it doesn't seem right. I moved the tower to the last hole in the frame then drill a new holes. I'm not sure mine will look as good as yours but I'm going to try. Thanks
I looked in my build files for you. The rear upper links are 108mm (106mm link + 2mm spacer), rear lower links are 106mm. I moved the rear mount 16mm rearward from the furthest back set of holes and drilled new holes. The front links are 92mm upper and 100mm lower. Keep in mind that I am not using Axial axles and they have different mounting locations. Also I made custom front link mounts which change the mounting positions further. You can see some of the details in the video. Good luck and happy building.
Dan Campise I did forget about the axles. Maybe that is what is wrong with mine because to me the front axle location is no where close. My shocks are siting sideways not up and down, but again I'm still using the stock axles. I have seen videos of people using the stock transmission but I cant seem to figure out how they did it. I want mine to have the same ride height as yours so I think I need to get that RC4WD tranny. Thanks again.
Robert Walker You can use the stock trans but you have to cut out or mold the interior for clearance. I wanted to keep my interior intact for realism so I went the hard route and fit the R2 trans as outlined in the vid.
Hi yes I found them. I am only going to buy a back axle because my front axle is unlocked, and the back locked. I will get the servo mounts for this axle (Z-S0562) and on the back piece I'm going to put a rod end in the middle which will receive the Axial Y-Piece. Also, I have custom springs so I have to work round this. I only want to use this axle for the scale look and articulation improvement, but I might want to be getting a solid metal axle for this. Thanks for your help.
This video IS the build of this truck. You can pause at any point to take more time to see how it is assembled. The axles were pretty simple to install.
Thanks for your comment. I really did suffer through this one, lol. It took forever to get all the fabrication of the floorboards and wheel wells done, but I hate when I see a nice rig and then you see wires and daylight right through the wheel wells. Just gives it right away as a toy. I like to make it hard to tell it's not a full scale truck.
@@spidernad1 Thank you, I figured something was going wrong with RUclips because every video I tried to view said the same thing. Thanks! Awesome video btw.

thank you :) and sorry to ask something you already answered lol i ended up scrolling down and you gave the lengths of the links to another person a couple months ago. thanks again.
Thanks. I mistakenly thought that the vehicle was kit with a hobby-grade chassis. I realize now people buy this toy-grade vehicle for teh body and mount it to a better chassis and electronics. Did you use an Axial SCX10? sorry for all the questions? I'm new to this.
Mr242723 No problem. Yes, SCX10 chassis. Watch the video carefully several times and pause when needed, you will see all the parts used including part numbers etc. It's like a cheat sheet.
