    すごいですね。日本語と他の言語がチャンポンになって、歌になっています。日本の海上にも国境を感じられますね。貴重です。

    南洋離島のアイデンティティー、日射しを受けて美しい。ここが日本であることがまた凄い!南方の影響を受けた海洋民族日本、大事にしたいですね。

    返還記念祭で見ました。村長さん自ら先頭に立ち、踊る姿に感動しました。

This is my favorite video of Nanyou Odori because the audio quality is good, and it shows the dance steps clearly.
Nanyou Odori are Ogasawaran adaptations of 5 dance songs brought from Micronesia starting in 1923. The mixture of Micronesian languages with Japanese is puzzling, as it bears little semblance to vernacular Ogasawaran creole. Perhaps the Japanese portions replaced fragments lost during oral transmission or that were difficult to pronounce.

The Kaka cabbagewood drum was invented in 1984 by Ikeda Nozomu.

I'm Chuukese & the uadoro song derives frm the chuukese word "uwa torofi" in the song I heard "uwa torofi nemin" meaning "I caressed u girl"

@@kira2hot4you37 Thank you for the reply. I am always interested to learn everything I can about both Ogasawara and Chuuk music. Are you in Chuuk now? How are things going there with the temporary isolation for the coronavirus?

@@aselunar I'm currently residing in Guam now. Right now any incoming travelers have to stay in Guam for 14 days. After being cleared in Guam they can officially enter any of the states in the FSM.
