- On January 13th 2019, we left our homes in England and set off on an a travelling adventure backpacking in south east Asia. We started our journey is one of the most expensive cities in the world, Singapore. What can you do in Singapore as a backpacker? We weren't quite sure what to expect but we were about to find out.. Our first day consisted of many fails but we still managed to explore the city and have a good time. We ended up exploring the Marina Bay area, seeing the Merlion and taking a very late visit to Sentosa Island to visit the most southern point of continental Asia.
