I enjoy using grease...my hair loves it! I only use it on wash day once my scalp is clean and hydrated. I don't use it again until the next wash day.

That’s exactly how I also use sulfur 8 grease only on wash day on my scalp and then for the rest of the two weeks I use my homemade oil concoction on my scalp. It really works for me.

I tried the whole moisturize and seal with creams and oils several years ago, but I didn't like the fact I had to do it every day. For me, it was too much manipulation in my hair and wasn't realistic keeping up with it on a daily basis because I didn't always feel like taking my hair down and moisturizing and sealing every single day. But because grease is so thick and moisturizing I can use it once in the week and not have to reapply anymore in that same week because the moisture of the grease is so great, which means the product last so much longer because I'm not constantly needing to reapply it. That and hair creams and oils are more expensive together than one jar of hair grease. Oils and creams can spill often too easily, but dropping a jar of hair grease on the floor is no issue because its so thick and solid,so it never spills out of its container. Plus with the possibility of spilling accidents or using too often hair oils and creams don't last as nearly as long as hair grease does. Plus hair grease is less than five dollars for a huge jar that will last me up to a year or more because of its thick consistency. With all that, I just said I ain't never giving up my grease ever again its enough for me.

That's why you use a leave in or cream moisturizer on freshly washed hair then seal in the grease. Now if grease is not an option Castor oil and avacado oil or good also.

I used to use grease when I was still washing my hair weekly and I did use a sulfate shampoo. Now that I’m washing my hair every two to three months, shea butter is far superior, and I use African black soap to cleanse my hair. I also like for my strands to be weighed down and Shea butter does that much better. But I do keep a stash of grease as a backup…just in case! 😆 Thanks for the video! 🌸

I also tend to stay away from grease. It has its uses, but generally doesn't play well with my hair. There's a british youtuber I enjoy watching however, Miss Lauren Leigh 11, who has lovely hair, and ALL she uses is grease. Her channel is super nice and informative.

I just started using hair grease since June of this year and the results have been amazing for me. Prior to it's use, I had issues with using oils, castor oil in particular, and Shea butter. For some reason my hair was always dry and I found myself moisturizing every three days sometimes more often. This issue was happening for quite some time. I was shampooing every two weeks with soapnut which by the way is fantastic and not harsh on my hair. Started watching videos about hair grease. I'm not a stranger to it at all just remember my younger days as the go to for my hair. Light bulb moment, I incorporated into my hair regiment and the dryness has finally been defeated. I don't put grease on my scalp actually I don't put anything on my scalp at all. Discovered my scalp doesn't appreciate oils or anything else. I don't have a problem with moisturizing while using grease, my hair stays subtle and manageable for days. I think I moisturize twice before washing my hair. I've been able to wash my hair only once a month now, I use soapnut for cleansing, deep hair mask, leave-in and my grease. I wear my hair in twist always and the growth has been tremendous. Love watching your content always. ❤❤❤❤

Hair grease works well for moisture retention. People just don't know what they are doing. Grease is not the problem if you wash your hair. Folks believe dirty hair grows or the neglect their hair in a protective style. Use a clarifying shampoo and then a moisture shampoo. Please don't grease your scalp if you plan on not washing your hair for more than 2 weeks.

This matches my experience a lot. I love grease when it goes on, but a couple days later my hair is so dry and I can't get it moist again until I wash it with shampoo. I've found that castor oil has a similar effect for me, too occlusive. It seems I have to accept my hair is going to lose moisture, so just use a light oil that allows me to add more moisture between washes. Trying to seal in moisture only seems to seal it out. 🤷

butter is not made of petroleum. so things like Shea butter mango butter cocoa butter. grease is petroleum based. they both lock in moisture and can help with length retention. which one you choose depends on your routine and what your hair likes. I use castor oil
