My relatives are from Tennessee and they all have waist length 4C hair. Their secret ingredient is a mixture of hot grease, locally grown herbs, and olive oils. They also wash their hair with fresh well water. I’ve been doing this culture practice for decades and not only is my 4C hair lower rib cage length but it’s also hydrated and moisturized.

I'm 60 years old and I used Crown Royal growing up. I think Blue Magic hit the scene around the late 80s early 90s because when I had my daughter in the early 90s Blue Magic was a mainstay. Sulfur 8 never went anywhere because it is medicated and good for scalp issues. In fact, it works really good for dandruff and fungus on the scalp. Blue Magic is really good for retaining moisture, I use it after I wash my hair put in a leave-in, curl cream/gel to lock in the moisture. It keeps my high porosity, type 4 hair moisturized and soft for days.

When i started to take care of my own hair i stopped putting it on my scalp and just put it along the length of my hair. I use it from time to time as a sealant. I'm 64, and remember my mother using Ultra Sheen when I was a kid after the pressing process, and even after I started getting relaxers. Over the years, we've been told to either oil our scalp or not, so I don't remember what changed. With all the products and manipulation of black hair, sometimes we have to stop and think about doing something different to stimulate hair growth.
I've watched a few videos about women moving back to the old school way, so Blue Magic "bergamont and the green color" and the Blue Magic Organic were purchased from Amazon to use interchangeably with my weekly wash/conditioning process. On this week's wash, i used after I blow dried/flat ironed/clipped ends. It will be part of my weekly process, so I'm looking forward to seeing some results.

Yes ma’am. My mom used Blue Velvet or Ultra Sheen grease on my hair every wash day (every Friday), and just grease and water when she combed it throughout the week.
My hair always ranged from bra strap to mid back. Blue Velvet is gone, but I added Blue Magic to my routine this year with no problems

Blue magic hair grease is perfect for twist and braid outs. After washing and conditioning your hair, use either water or a water based or creme based moisturizer to moisturize your hair first, then use grease as a sealant to lock in all that moisture. When your hair dries, it will be soft, shiny and stay moisturized for days. The curl definition is crazy. It's one of thee best! Use it! it will not disappoint

I’ve been using it for 6 months and the moisture retention and length retention is awesome. Shampoo every 2-3 weeks, leave in, blue magic. I started mixing Chebe powder in my Blue Magic 3 months ago and my detangling is minimal, and single strand knots are gone. I’m averaging and inch per month. I do not grease my scalp with it because Chebe shouldn’t be applied to scalp. Everyone is asking if I’m supplementing with extensions. NO! Length and volume is off the chain.

I love hair grease, my mother used to blue magic greese to my scalp once a week as a child, you're right my hair was down my back. I started using Jamaican black castor hair grease, and it has been a game changer. I also use in my 4 year old daughters hair. This is another great video!.. or "a banger" lol as you say. Thank you, Queen.

Blue Magic is it. Grease and water works as good as some of the products out here now for natural hair. Wash and grease your hair, plait it and let it air dry then style it. I have natural hair and hair grease works well whether I am wash and go or straightening my hair.

In the past, hair grease made my scalp itch like crazy.
I would only use it as the LCO method, if I ever used it again.
If you use grease you have to use a clarifying shampoo each month.

I followed the trend of not using blue magic grease but it's more on and off these days. I still have a jar I use for moisturizing dry skin from time to time. These days I use a curl cream and castor oil. My hair is much stronger, more shiny and healthier. I'm type 3-4a. Results may vary.

I was tcb grease using girl before they changed it in the 2000s( I think ) but now oddly enough blue magic sells one similar to the original tcb. I never liked the original blue magic bc it was just toooo heavy so I now use the yellow or green blue magic. I know they say people with scalp issues should not use grease like that but I found the opposite to be true with my younger daughter’s hair. I found that her hair loves to clarified with sulfate shampoos and greased afterwards and when I switch up she pays dearly for it. I have had the most problems when her hair got too dry or when her diet was off. Also I heard Bronner Brothers grease is blacked owned so you might like that one. As for doo gro I say give it a try it’s not bad.

Mom used royal crown on my hair as a child and Old 97 pressing grease, After became a teen and started doing my own hair I used ultra sheen, but laterI left hair grease all together when I heard it wasn't good for scalp and hair.I started experiencing hair loss with the new products I was trying ,now I've done the big chop and went back to using grease ONLY on my hair after my shampoo and conditioner and my hair is doing great. I've learned if it's not broken don't fix it.

I was shocked to see Dax Kocatah (scalp issues) on Amazon and realized everything old is new again. I use a little bit of Blue Magic on my hair in the winter, a little goes a long way and daily use is not necessary. I used to use Allways Natural Indian Hemp hair grease but it seems to have been discontinued, I really liked it didn't have a heavy scent.

By the way grease doesn't clog pores. Fun fact: hair grease has a comedogenic rating of 0. It doesn't clog the pores. Everyone and y'all's family always stay blessed and healthy ✝️🙏🛐🕊️
