Ingredients Needed.
For the Date Filling
8 oz Pitted Dates, 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar, 2/3 Cup Water
For the Dough Crumble
1 and 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 and 1/2 Cup Quick Oats
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
1 Cup Butter

I saved this to my recipe playlist - love this :) It's so similar to a date bar that blew my mind when I was a little kid, but with something more like shortbread rather than oats. I've never found a recipe for that, but I'm a giant fan of toasty oats, so I will be trying this! :)

Brown sugar AND dates - too much sugar.

Actually, i reduced the sugar amount from the original recipe. You can reduce it more to suit your taste.
