That Charger with it blue exterior and blue dash and console and white buckets leather interior and top with an open sunroof and some magnum 500 rims with red line tires will look stunning standing still and that's a high price car.
I love how its the middle of the day and you just give no fucks at all what the neighbours think when it comes to entertaining yourself...Keep building and havin a ball Chris
I used to install pop up sunroofs in the eighties. Sometimes we really had to hack away at the inner bracing to make them fit. All we had were tinsnips. Most auto manufacturers sent out cars for electric sunroofs to a company like American Sunroof Corporation . Depending on the car this also included convertible conversions .
Now if you would’ve never made this video we all never got to see a sunroof car get cut apart like that that’s why you got to film everything thanks for the video keep them coming
Oh man, woke up from a nap and caught this video already playing right when you yanked the quarter panel off. I thought, "Man! This guy is absolutely destroying this and is WAYYYY in over his head." Then I saw you weld the bracing and knew you had done this before. Next thought was when it chirped going into gear, "Please do a burnout. I know I sure would!" Thank you very much. P.S. Cul-de-sac living is where it's at buddy. I get away with my MoParitis there too.
Great content," Saving Another Charger"! I was never a fan of sunroof cars now I know why. Company's have got alot better at installs. The Dodge Charger is a muscle car. Should have been left that way. I liked your bracing, very effective. I think you are the Charger metal repair Master. Very impressed with your projects. Thanks again. Ed.M
Damn Chris I wonder if I lived closer to you. When I was in North Vegas I remember people telling me I was one of the annoying car guys and there was another that built cars at their house. Lol
Hey nice video Chris. You looked like you just stole dads keys to the charger when you were 12... doin burnouts, barely seein over the steerin wheel & smilin ear to ear. lol
Well i find Sunroofs useful. Cars heat up quite a bit and when you got the sunroof open it isnt as hot. Of course if they break on you they become completely useless unless you know how to fix them but that's why it's best to take care of them.
You could really use a shop. You have enough work and reputation to make it happen, and it would be so much nicer to work on these with a lift in a cooled building, with enough room for everything.
Yes Chris COOL CAR. I DO THAT STUFF TO. BUT CAN T DO IT FOR DAYS LIKE U DO. I NEED A BREAK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. PROB. CAUSE I HAD 3 JOBS AND TWO WERE METAL WORK.

Hey Chris if you could show a video on how to put the roof skin on and the drip rails and and give some pointers and some tips that would be great preciate the videos they take a lot of questions and maybes and ifs and buts out of my project
That's kind of like the old Hurst T Tops in my 1977 SE Trans Am. You can see how crudely those were installed just like this car, right down to the telltale signs of tin snips in some places. Amazing how lax some of the requirements were back then.
With the back end off that side view on the street gave me an idea of grafting on the rear of a AMC gremlin🤣 Yep looks like a giant pinto from the side just squint yoir eyes a little
They made Dart Swinger sunroof cars, but I've only seen one in my lifetime. I guess maybe that's the same on the Ford side. I've one 68 Dan Gurney Cougar XR7 GT in my lifetime. Funny that there were plenty of Beetle sunroof cars in comparison.

Just think about how many bodies went through before they had a successful roof "sun roof" adaption and the ones that didn't make it were pushed outdoors for parts. I heard of guys who bought them then and successfully made a convertible out of them. That included the frame was ex'ed as well. I just don't know how much modifying a car can handle before being a mess waiting to happen
I wonder how much of the superstructure is available after market? It would be interesting to see if you could build a complete car using only aftermarket panels
Well reinforced. I'd thought, that back end would have folded in half during the burnout. I guess with little to no weight left there's not much traction.
I was raise in a Dodge dealership in the 60's & 70's and this looks like an aftermarket sunroof install. We would sell them as a option. I guy down the street from the dealership did the work. Is the sunroof option on the fender tag?
