Hi 👋 I never answer my door 🚪 unless I know who is coming to my door, such as my family, housing association or delivery driver that I know who is coming. Before I answer the door, I look to see who it is .....if I don't know who it is, I don't answer. I know this sounds anti social but I don't want to answer to strangers or talk to sales people.

In 🇨🇦 door to door sales are against the law . Before this law was passed it was non stop with this nonsense. Since this was passed it has worked 💯

I always keep my Porch & front door locked & will not answer it if someone knocks. Anyone I know, neighbours or friends know how to contact me beforehand & not just turn up on the spur of the moment.

A man came to my door selling knock off baby formula asking if I had any children. He didn't go to any of my other neighbours. It really freaked me out. No idea what it meant. I live alone. Still don't know what his game was.

My poor neighbour thought the council was at the door saying he had a tree people were complaining about. They said they needed to cut it down-which they did and then charged him £2k😢 he was confused and paid it😢

i remember on my first visit to London from Asia, i was scammed £50 on the street because a man claimed his family was in big trouble and his credit card was frozen, stuff like that. the reason I gave money to him was because I thought everyone in the UK was nice and kind, and London is really a great city where there would be no any crime. then I lived there longer, I saw a lot of things. I met some strange people who spit on me at the entrance of the hotel, and my local teammate stole the money in the workplace, and the youth scammed the money at the exit of the tube station with a sunshine smile in a very polite way. so it is no different, the world is the same.

I had a scammer come to my door from TV licensing saying i needed a tv licence and he could sell me one. I told him i didn't require one and closed the door... he was genuine but still a scammer... odd how the law allows this?

He wasn't genuine if he was a scammer

I'm afraid the law can't stop people knocking on your door.
Please don't answer at your door unless you know who the caller will be.
