I listened to her explain it all on a podcast and it did make sense. She thought it was insane too but he really did convince her it was real, on paper it sounds ridiculous but when she tells the whole story you do understand how he managed to trick her. Its so crazy

But I think him telling her the pope was marrying them, all the presidents and other dignitaries of the world were going to be in attendance, that would have been a major red flag.

Not just that the pope was attending but officiating the wedding, since when has a pope ever did that? Ridiculous she believed that! The only time all of those dignitaries and presidents get together is when royalty is getting married!

I know, right?! I have visited the vatican. You feel and understand how huge and important the pope is once you visit the vatican. Once he mentioned the pope, I knew it was a lie. Presidents, queens, kings and high dignitaries have a difficult time meeting the pope. It takes years to get an appointment with the pope. Leave alone getting him to agree to marry you. And then you are not even catholic. And then you just managed to arrange all that with the pope in a matter of hours?! Common now! 🤔🥴
Celebrities have doctors, so it isnt far fetched that they might have a cutting edge surgeon.
Just watched the documentary on Netflix. He knew what he was doing the entire time. He deserves to rot in a cell for the rest of his life. Pure evil

I worked in the OR as a surgical nurse. I’m used to spending twelve hours or more every day with psychopaths, narcissistic and bipolar surgeons. They all congregate in the surgical rooms…it’s sick!
I won’t go into details but believe me…they really so abusive that only certain kind of people can endure working in the OR.

Yes, I believe that. I can spot these types a mile away. After multiple surgeries I've noticed that hospitals- particularly operating theatres, are full of them.
I also work in surgical theatres. I think there are some absolutely fantastic surgeons and we have a lot to be grateful for. But yes, it takes a certain person to make it in the operating room. Very unique environment

Im in medical field. You cant believe how many Psycopathic Surgeons exist. With patience they put smiles on there faces but to there employees they are more than Devils. Ive seen it in different hospitals ive worked in and now i ve quite my job which i did love but because of Psycopaths i ve let it go😢

I worked in surgery for 30 years. In Australia and NZ. I never ever saw such behavior. If there was a hint of such behavior it would be dealt with by the manager. Everyone was respectful of each other. Concentration was on the patient on the table.

I can’t believe this beautiful woman has been through so much. I went through something similar on a much smaller scale. It makes me feel stronger seeing such a well rounded woman come through with her head held high.
Oh please. She didn’t even look into his life because if she did she would have seen he was still married. She didn’t do any homework because she enjoyed his lifestyle and all the trips and she believed what she wanted. It takes no skill to realize the pope doesn’t married non Catholics especially one that’s been divorced twice. She’s crazy.
Red flags everywhere, typical signs of a narcissist, they will say anything to get their way and what they want and clearly he took advantage of that, I hope she can learn from this mistake 🤔

I've been there too but unless you know what a narc or psychopath is you don't have a clue about the lies, manipulation and lack or no guilt etc.

I went out with a man who told me that he was a docter,I soon found out that he lied he took a friend of mine out as well since I got older experience taught me what these con merchants are really like.
"I was intrigued by him...I think everybody was..." but not everyone quit their job, yanked their young child, who had lost her dad, out of school, and believed the Pope was going to perform her wedding...The lack of maturity and intelligence and common sense in this woman is astounding...

This was covered on the podcast Dr Death which covers 2 other doctors and their malpractice pursuits….The podcast has been turned into this tv series…I’ve watched and also listened to both series 1 and 2…and it is just absolutely unbelievable and scary when doctors egos are more important than their patients lives…it is well worth watching just to serve as a warning 🇦🇺🇦🇺

First thought that came to my mind were the Nazi's that were doctors and who conducted experiments on people in the concentration camps. Everyone thinks that only those type of people could do such horrendous things. Turns out not the case. So scary.

You are very right. I can say i met really good Surgeons. Very competent and very human and what i noticed were most of the Psychopaths were insecure and not good Surgeon. We would say that they were gifted in books but not in the Operation Field.
What an awesome woman with so much character to come forth and tell her story, as heartbreaking and I'm sure embarrassing as it was! she'll come back so much stronger now!
Statistically surgeons are known to be psychopaths. Who else could cut a human being without freaking out?
People who hold a medical degree who then crosd trained as surgeons and are, unlike the person in question, are decent, caring, and highly skilled and intelligent people who utilize their attriubutes in the service to average people like you and me!

Like I wrote in the original comment, dealing with blood and death on a regular basis must take a certain natural level of callousness. I wonder how pathologists score 🤔 they must be off the charts. And yes, it is scary and we must be very careful trusting our health providers. In my life I met 1 (!) good sensitive doctor who was patient and listened attentively. Most have a "I am a doctor and you will listen to what I tell you to do" stance and give you half-educated advice. Not to mention that many doctors go into the field for money and prestige, which is also a fact

There cannot be many really good plastic surgeons about . You only have to look at the faces of the celebrities who pay top dollar and look how they end up looking. Its not a good advertisement. Plastic Is a good term for them .

The rest of us dont behave this way so we cant fathom that a person would go to such great lengths to manipulate another person. We hv a hard time lying about the tinest detail. How could someone lie about their entire life?

Benita jumped at that shiny bait and swallowed it hook, line and sinker! She knowingly jeopardized and traded her integrity, career and reputation for the glitter of gold; violated terms of her contract with an employer who trusted her; left her daughter with whomever while jet-setting all over the world and thoroughly enjoying thousands of dollars being spent on her by Paola. Benita is continuing to line her pockets and boost her new-found "celebrity" status via her con man, thru interviews, tv shows, etc, that stem from her bad decisions and basic stupidity.

Her daughter gets SS from her father . Paolo didn’t tell her to quit her job . Who would move to another country without speaking a word of the language knowing he’d be traveling much less allow a boyfriend to enroll your child in a school you know nothing about.? 7 years later she’s still cashing in on her stupidity..

When you get engaged to a man and the wedding is being planned, he tells you that he has bought a house for you to live in, in this case Barcelona, its just common sense to quit your job since you know you are re-locating. I did the same. I met my husband in my country when he was an expatriate there. We got married and when his contract ended, I quit my job and we moved to his country. I knew nobody there, and I couldn`t speak the language. I learned all this in time.
Its called taking a leap of faith. People from different backgrounds meet everyday all across the world and they get married. She trusted the wrong person. What he did was cruel considering he knew she had a daughter. He now can feel how she felt as he lost his job. Its even worse for him coz no one will ever hire him ever again as everyone knows what he did. Let her cash in whatever she can. Everybody cashes in on whatever they can nowadays. I know she opened the eyes of alot of women to be vigilant.

The trouble is these women want money because they can not earn it. So they knowingly go into these relationships knowing that the end is lined with gold regardless of the outcome. And Ofcourse we know that most of these loser women are broke and this is a way to get money because there is no other way . Why has this report not mentioned how much money she received after all was said and done and what was her net worth when she met the guy??!!!
