This is a major flashback. I used to fly in a V35B club many years ago and it was in one of the hangers you just passed. I learned to fly power at an FBO at the South End Across from Gatecity that was raised years ago to make room for ILS equipment. Don Davidson had an FBO at the North End of the field that catered to warbirds. Davidson had a P51 "Double Trouble II" and I got a jump seat ride. What a day that was!
Glad you enjoyed it! We don't see many warbirds today (wish that P51 was still around) but there are a fair number of folks flying aerobatic aircraft including Rob Holland... I flew to Katama (grass strip) in Martha's Vinyard last weekend. I'll get that posted when I get a few hours to get the editing done.
I used to fly my Turbo Arrow IV VFR regularly into Logan. Always asked for 33L or 15R, which is too short for commercial traffic but just fine for a light plane. The controllers were appreciative and always accommodated my requests.
Yeah - it was even cooler in person :) It was very neat seeing that Alaska Air 737 come in and pass us on final. My passenger is now spoiled. It was his first flight in a small plane, now he wants to see stuff like that on every flight.
I like the video. I have landed there hundreds of times, yet this looks weird to me because it was always in a jet transport (B-737, B-727, DC-9, DC-8). The approach speeds are so different. At times it has been as high as 160kts. with full flaps. ATC did a nice job of accommodating you with all the "heavy" traffic. BTW, nice job on your part also!
Because it’s a free country and our tax dollars pay for airports just like roads. The pilots just need to be on their game and they need to be ready to pay some steeper fees for parking, handling, and gas.
I'd like to interview you about what it is like to be a pilot and have you on my TV show on community TV (My host would interview you) would be interesting to learn about being a pilot and what goes into flying even smaller planes. wouldbe a 60 minute show preferrably in studio in Wakefield MA or we could do over zoom. maybe you could fly down and we could get some video of you landing at Bedford or something (Hanscom) or Logan Or maybe you could fly us from Logan to NH and back on a media flight as part of the show footage. B-roll and interview.
Where the hell was that traffic at 11/12 o'clock/same altitude/1 mile on takeoff? Had me nervous! Also, I'm used to watching bigger/faster planes with autopilot, not hand-flown rolling and yawing all over the place.
Can you get a shot of my house sometime. if you ever land on 15 over Wobur/Maldy... I'm in Winchester Highlands (right by Hyland, and Lobster ) (at least on the takeoffs) I am halfway between WOBUR and MALDY in Winchester....near Muraco School/Winchester High School.
With all of the fees (landing, handling, security, etc.) it is over $200… it might be closer to $270 for a piston single. If you call Signature they will give you the latest rates. Note that this is the only airport I’m aware of where you go through security (a private company - not TSA) to get onto the ramp. On this trip I dropped my colleague and picked up a patient who I then flew up to Presque Isle, Maine (KPQI). All fees are waived if you are performing a compassion flight.
@@timetofly401I do Pilot’s ‘n Paws and Angel Flights. I fly to MA regularly. I will consider BOS for a stop next time. Thanks. Flying into Osh again this year?
Love the video! I suspect you didn't hit wake turbulence from the airplane on the parallel, but rather jet blast from the airplane departing runway 9 just a few seconds before you were at the threshold?
@@timetofly401 long time ago, i flew to Marthas' Vineyard , I was already at the short final, tower asked me to turn to left and make a big cycle to give way to a jet, lol
What an Awesome ride! Thanks for letting us Fly with you.
Glad you enjoyed it! I just posted one of landing at Katama (grass strip) on Martha's Vineyard.
Great to see a video of a local pilot out of KASH! I'll have to keep an eye out when I have my camera for you!
Wow very cool seeing someone fly KASH to KBOS
Thanks.
This is such a great video, great job! I fly the ECAC warriors from KASH.
I have flown all of the ND tails at East Coast too.
I've flown into KASH many times, but have so far avoided BOS. Thanks for the introduction.
Sure thing. Happy to answer any questions when/if you decide to give it a shot.

Amazing video. Hope to see a landing or take off from one of those tiny cross runways at KBOS 14/32 or the smallest 15L/33R
That was really cool! Thanks for the flight!

They seem to squeeze me in on 4L or 22R when I have been flying in there. I haven’t landed on 33L/15R.
Cool perspective, especially of the landing parallel with the other plane coming in on 4R.

Great video!
Thanks!
My first trip to KBOS was from KASH as well. PA-44 in my senior year of college. Hanging from the tail.
I know a lot of DWC grads who can say the same thing.
This is wonderful! Thanks for the upload
It was a fun flight. Thanks for the feedback!
Very cool! Thanks!
I’ve had this woman in the tower a few times when visiting ASH for touch and goes. She’s good people 👍
Yes she is.
that's a healthy engine. smoooth!
It's brand new (not overhauled) in 2022.
@@timetofly401 my career was in power (all type). I could tell just by listening to it. Pretty sweet.
Yup. Been right seat in this approach outta Hyannis

That's COOL... Why would ATC allow these small private aircrafts in Class Bravo airspace and land at Logan International?
Because it’s a free country and our tax dollars pay for airports just like roads. The pilots just need to be on their game and they need to be ready to pay some steeper fees for parking, handling, and gas.
Great video! Brings back memories of my Cessna flying days in Florida.
I learned to fly in Florida too. Add a few isolated thunderstorms to fly around and you’re right on.
@@timetofly401 Lovely place to fly!
@@vlieg-piet It sure is and the weather for this flight was fantastic.
Absolutely awesome video. I actually like airfield ground operations almost as much as the actual flight
Is "wake turbulence" what happened to Mav and Goose in Top Gun?
That’s what they were saying in the movie. It can be a big deal if you get too close to it, especially if the plane is big. It’s like a boat’s wake.
what are you using for communication with tower, also traffic announcement, what program doing that
I have a digital audio recorder and a special cable that plugs into a headphone jack in the plane.
I fly a helicopter and have landed at three or four major airports but not Boston…I’ll have to give it a try.

I would guess traffic on the ground in front of them, might even be picking themselves up on ads-b but I've never had that happen with 1 mile distance

I can try.... typically I get runway 04 or 22. Haven't been given 15 yet.
Nice Video. Landing at BOS is on my bucket list. What are the fees for GA Single Engine Pistons?

I feel like I was too high to be getting jet blast, but there was a B737 that was rolling on runway 9, so it's possible.
you flew over my house!
Curious, how much was the landing fee at Logan?
They said $200-270
That's about right. They do waive the fees for compassion flights though.
23:07. "Pan Pan Anna pound of Banana" is the readback i heard.

I saw Hainan Airlines 787 LOL
Yep. They were right in font of me when ATC told me to give way to them.
