I had the wrong thumbnail etc today, I am on vacation so it is going to be a while before I can fix. Apologies, it is still 100% relevant, but obviously not with Max lol.
When you get 'ace B' it usually is a good time to get rid of 'scramble'. Even before 'evade' 'evade A' is the same as 'bolt A' which is very useful if you have a lot of draw.
Sucks to hear and makes me question if it even makes sense from a dev perspective in this type of game. I was going to be buying the game to try the combo, because the idea of being able to infinite fairly easily seems like a lot of fun to try out once. Now since it’s not in the game. I don’t think I’m interested in buying the game. What’s the harm in someone breaking your game with a combo? It’s their choice to pick those cards up and play them, right? Even then, is it a crime that those people have fun continually replaying the game destroying ships? What’s the point of a nerf?
@@TR_Good_Grief Balance is important in single player games too, not just PVP. Having an easy infinite kinda ruins the difficulty and I understand their decision. I think your logic is flawed because a game's difficulty is set by the devs, not arbitrarily by players who would hypothetically decide not to pick good cards when offered them
@@TR_Good_Griefeasy infinites makes games like this boring. Instead of having a card that breaks the game its better to have cards that are good but balanced.
@TR_Good_Grief There are absolutely still infinites, but now you actually have to try slightly to get them. This absolutely needed a nerf, people need to stop acting like there is "no point to nerf a single player game" when it undermines every other option in the game. "Don't pick them", it isn't the player's responsibility to balance the game, and they shouldn't get less card options because they don't want a free win. It is a super outdated take imo, and not getting a game because it removed the easiest infinite I've ever seen in a deckbuilder is very kneejerk. Now you actually have to _try_ to get a combo that allows you to not even play the game, that seems fine to me.
@Retromation Indeed, having interesting decisions to make every run is the most important aspect of any roguelite. The second that runs start feeling samey because certain options are just clearly the "correct" answer, the game is already stale.
Heeey, Books is here! To be blunt, Books can fill a ton of different roles in the team, it feels like the most varied character out there, and I can't wait to see how you break the game with her! I've done it already, so I know it's possible, ahah
Yeah! That reminds me of a movie trope with time manipulating/superfast characters: A thug comes in, points his gun and says "Prepare to d... ...DIE! Wait, where's everybody? .. Why am i holding a banana!? .. WHO PUT MY PANTS DOWN!!?
"You don't really want to go into a turn with no dodge capability." My last run ended because I got stuck right in the middle of the field against the Rusting Colossus and got shot to pieces. So yeah, I definitely hear you.
Evasion is too useful. Having defense card helps when lacking evasion like drones or shields. This is why max is difficult to work with because his cards only shuffle cards around so you have to get lucky
I literally just finished watching the previous run, went to check the lengths of the previous runs/videos and saw a new one!! what an exciting day. very excited to see this game every time you upload it
Fantastic setup today! Can't wait for tomorrow's episode with Books. I think he is the least baked card/game designwise, but he is a treat for lore / dialouge purposes. Also I think you're right about memories unlocking the final character.
Love this game. Just had a run where every time I moved I shot a round & every time I took a shot I fired one & most of my attack card were upgraded multi shots. It was ridiculous.
You are so good at this game, have you ever lost? (save for the first shopkeep) you seem to be both good on your choices and luck, even on Hardest! Lol maybe I'm just to impatient, but I cant make it past hard without dying so many times until I stumble on one of these combos.
@@Retromation I have a theory that wanting to make a full episode for the channel (rather than half of the usual time because of the loss) has made you better at games!
Does Armor stack? Otherwise isn’t aggressive armoring just a 0 cost 3 damage that because a 0 cost 2 damage if you repeat it? That still seems really strong, especially for draw builds like yours
It makes every other shot worse on that position so you need additional mobility to compensate. Also interacts horrendously with the one peri card that gives enemy part brittle
@@GaloisFan by explaining why it isn’t as strong as it seems (0 for 2 if repeated etc) it is implied that I operate under the “otherwise” assumption thus answering their question and furthering the discussion.
I was so confused with the thumbnail having max and them not being in the squad like "wait how do you go infinite without max's tomfoolery" and then i remembers that quick thinking B both exists and draws itself
I think you accidentally used the wrong img for your video, it shows Max in the img but I checked ahead of the video and Max didn't appear. Idk if this was a mistake or not but just letting you know.
Acid cannon is kind of garbage tier, if you want to play with corrosion then the beam is better in every way, except direct damage. Edit: Or wait... Is the beam exhaust?
Yes, the Beam version exhaust, this one doesn't. The Beam version doesn't need to be aimed though, so it's more reliable in a turtle strategy with midrow objects

23:55 Dizzy, not seconds after agreeing to an honorable duel, 'line us up with that weak spot'
Dizzy canonicaly has a gun and is forklift certified. Dizzy is my favorite character lore wise so far.
oh no buddy...
god I really really hope you continue with this series, it's so awesome watching you play this game like a master
Riggs is forklift certified. Another reason to add to the pile of reasons why I love this game.
Funnily enough, they nerfed both Quick Thinking B and Math.Max B to exhaust in today's update

pls 100% the game now! I am so invested in the lore etc
Taking advantage of pre-nerf quick thinking while he still can!

Got to love Riggs
I almost always take -2 max health at start but if you don't have Dizzy then I think -1 max shield is reasonable.

Nothing happens, I assume because he didn't target your weak point, you moved it in front of his cannons
Damn, two infinites in a row?

From watching your videos and my own playing, I believe that Math.max B is the strongest card in the game
It's a shame it got nerfed today, the patch notes made Math.max B exhaust but also removed the -1 energy
my guess is that the last character isn't out yet, and the devs are working on it!
I've had a lot of confirmation that it is in fact in the game!
@@Retromation ohhhh! I see! That's great :D
That shuffle event unlocked the B-Wing for you.
B wing? Buffalo wings?
🥳

yes

this with any 0 cost damage card is way faster haha
And here i was thinking I can't like Riggs more
Riggs decks are so broken like deck with 2 drawshots consistently hiting for max damage
