Thank you everyone for showing so much love for this video! I'm thoroughly amazed by your kind words and how you are taking a lot from this video. This is exactly why I want to create these videos in the first place. For those of you who are finding a reason to document or record something, just go for it and figure it out later! There's definitely more to come to please stay tuned :D
You did a fantastic job!! Super articulate really phenomenal execution. Your passion definitely comes through. And I'm in NYC too so love the scenes and settings

It’s the kind of content that makes me truly and fully grateful for social media.
Honest, caring and well crafted.
I choose to only consume products that are of this level of quality.
Thanks for creating it.
That is my hope for this platform and social media in general. I want this to be a place where people can be inspired, challenged, and grow when they can’t have that in the place where they are right now. I’ve been through different environments and institutions and I know what it’s like to not have the proper guidance. I want to give that gentle push so that you can be an unstoppable force. Thanks for stopping by🥰
nice to see such high quality on youtube again
Wow, that's such a high praise! Thank you for your kind words. Be on the look out for more!
This is amazing. I also realized that my life does not remain in my memory for a long time, and I am of course afraid that I will forget one of the important things. I cannot even remember what happened yesterday, and I feel like I return every day to level 0, as if I have not accomplished anything - so I will try this method - also the movie that... You made it very inspiring and calming and your voice even helped me relax - definitely worth a reproach
Our brain can only handle so much! No shame in documenting your best memories and thoughts. The best of the best have done it as well. I’m glad you stumbled upon my channel. I’m excited to create more for you😊
Throwing away garbage(which can include certain people such as fake friends ) in your life will make your journey a lot easier.
So true! That’s a whole other video😂
Absolutely loved this! Can't wait to see more! Cheers!
Next video coming out soon!
I appreciate people like you who are creative and have compassion for the people in life and people in general also when you mentioned wanting to remember and document all you're memories and feeling grateful for every moment has inspired me to do the same. Im glad RUclips recommended this video and i just subscribed. If we had more people like you the world would be a much better place. Wishing you the best in you're film making!
Thank you for your kind words. It’s comments like this that keeps me going. I’m glad you have the desire to start your documenting journey as well. Take one step at a time and make sure to enjoy it! Don’t think too much about whether it’s good or bad. Good luck and thanks for your support!
you're right, and it to see ones own progression is amazing
Exactly! Gotta appreciate how far you’ve come😎
I love how this video illustrates the struggles of growing up. The confusing reality of how life changes in an instant. Highlighting the things that make us the person we are. I wish you best of luck in your career making films!

I can’t wait to watch more of your storytelling!
Go for it! What really got me started was that I asked myself, if I was 90 and old with no energy, what would I have regretted not have done? That’s when I realized I wanted to film. Can’t wait to see how your journey unfolds😁

You are absolutely right ! I’m filming my journey right now of following my dreams ! Much success to you dude
Amazing! Wish the best for you my guy😁
thank you for the video! we always forget about it, but in the past even though not everyone wrote diaries or did artistic practices to reflect on events, but everyone eventually wrote letters to their loved ones, and kept them in the piles so that no memories were lost.
honestly, felt the same way when in the end of summer 2023, when i had to go back from my hometown in estonia to the netherlands to continue studies. it was such a difficult time in terms of emotions - after i was away from my friends and family for a year, i could not find any connection with them anymore as it used to be. in this confusion and feeling of loss i managed to rethink the meaning of myself in my life - that life is not only what is going on around me and with me, but also largely what is happening inside of me. and after this month at home i was so afraid to lose these valuable details from the rare moments of a pure human connection with some of my friends, that on the last day before i had to leave i spent hours to make a numbered list of almost every day of that summer - and all the events and conversations i had then. all the minor details which i did not find too important at that moment but there still was this feeling inside of me that i cannot allow to lose these pieces of memories, all of them i tried to document of five pages in my notebook
couldn't feel more grateful for it. still, even today, in the boring routine when something really interesting happens only a few times per week, i reflect on my thoughts and feelings a lot and keep on connecting today's experiences with those precious moments from the past. it helps to not lose the meaning of the friendships on the long distance, as well as strengthen the inner understanding of my own persona
because no good future can be built without remembering and reflecting on your own past.
Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like you had quite the journey yourself. I’m glad you were able to find a documenting system that works for you. It’s like having a priceless treasure box full of your favorite memories🥰

I highly agree with everything you just said in this video. I also felt the same hence why I started documenting my life. Every posts made, gives me satisfaction and happiness. It also pushes me to be more intentional rather than living daily without purpose. I am just starting but the joy it gives me really hits different than when I just always take photos. Keep going! Cheers.
Glad you agree! Something about video just hits different, but I also do like taking photos:)

Just get started regardless of whether you think it’s going to be good or not. Getting started is actually extremely difficult. The reps you get in, the clearer the motivation and goals will become. Best of luck on your journey☺️
Oh I love this. I feel your experiences very much. I've had the same realisation when my grandma left us. I didn't have a lot of photos left of her and not being able to looking at her made that loss even more terrible. So I've started to document whatever I can on photos. Video is something I've only recently re-discovered for myself but I feel like making visual diaries is even more enticing to me than photos. Thank you for this beautiful video 😊
First of all, sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what’s it’s like to lose someone so dear.

Loved this! You will go far. Loved the cinematography and flow of this video.
Omg, that means a lot! Trying to keep improving😊 Be on the look out for more!
you really inspire me, thank you for the video. i think about that sooo often... since i'm 13 i am doing journals and i'm very happy about it, because i was always scared of not remembering my childhood and teenage years, so i wrote everything down. Since i'm 9 i am very interested in cutting, editing and in general making videos. i was thinking about making that my hobby again, capturing random stuff in my day and making like a vlog out of it, so i can look back at it, when i am an adult. i always have a fear of not using the whole potencial of my teenage years and its been already a year since i'm thinking about doing short films or even vlogs. i also have kind of a wish, to leave something back in this world when i die. i know i'm very young but i kind of always have that worry. i think this video is a great sign to go after that... making editing cutting whatever my hobby again - thank you for inspiring :) usually i dont comment but i just wanted to say some nice words and share something personal
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I think this is one of the beautiful aspects I like about this platform so far is being able to hear other people’s stories and inspire others. I would definitely be intentional about recording memories instead of recording for the sake of recording. In that way, you’ll have a stronger determination and more of a purpose when you record. I wish you the best of luck! Excited to create more😁
I saw this video and was shocked. It put my thoughts into words. Word to word. I feel so inspired now. This really made me want to start posting short movies on RUclips, even with the not so high quality camera that I have. Thank you ❤
Wow, I’m amazed how we thought the exact same thing. I guess that goes to show you can do this too! If you look at my earlier videos, I started out with my iPhone X! Good luck 👍
Hi! I just wanted to say hello from austria! I just watched your video and must say as a storytelling nerd and film hobbyist, this really inspired me. It felt like being reminded on why I love making films so much but also why it's important to take seemingly arbitrary footage of memories. I will starting from now on even start filming more with my phone- - you're really right with your point that life seems to go by so fast week to week- but with memories one can relive it all has much more meaning. Thank you so much and I look forwards to more videos from you- also amazing quality and you seem like such a nice person to hang out with!
Good to see another storytelling and film nerd all the way across the world! I started out with my iPhone X and even though I now have a dedicated video camera, the content is most important. Good luck with your documenting journey and thank you for stopping by😊
@@conquerwestfilms Thank you for your reply, you're right that at least capturing something is more important. I will look into a film camera at some point too- though not sure what is best for travelling i.e. (smallish and easy to handle)- do you have any recommendations?
Honestly, I’m bias towards Sony camera. I would look into the RX-100 VII or a6700. I think Canon has some good portable options as well like the G7 X. Hope this helps!

This video felt authentic. Thanks for sharing it here on RUclips!
Thanks for watching and stopping by!
Honestly... I like to think I remember most of the things I experience. And I do, I just rarely think about it anymore.
I recently saw a video, I used to watch with my then best friend and that sparked up a memory chain, I keep remembering more stuff, feelings I felt back then, the things I daydreamed of back then, just so much stuff, that I had long forgotten... This feels better, than looking at my life, that I documented. It feels so fresh. Pictures and videos, even texts are different. Even, if you get reminded of something through a picture... Having memories, that havent been documented, feels so much better
To each their own! I don’t disagree with you at all. I just wanted to share why I document my life. I like having my own library and remembering memories whenever I want. I also don’t trust my brain to remember the memories I want to especially the details. Ultimately, do what works for you. Thanks for stopping by!

On my Odysee, I made over 2 hours worth of video-log-dairies about what it was like being in a relationship with an amnesiac with multiple-personalities.
Her's being split off in terms of separate memories, while my own share everything. It is definitely worth it to record such things rather than write them down.
She only journaled but had she of vlogged instead, she likely would have seen first hand how different she can be.
I will be sure to tell her as much next time I correspond with her... since it ought to help her break free of her issues around it.

Hey man, great video! What camera/lens do you use? Your footage looks amazing.
I use the Sony FX30 and use various Sigma zoom and prime lenses! If you look at my earlier videos, I started out with my iPhone and at some point, I knew that I wanted to take filming more seriously so I recently upgraded to the Sony camera. Highly recommend if you're serious about filming! Not for photography tho.

Hey! I love recording things, be it myself or anything. I wanna start a channel too. And omg i recently edited and shot this short movie at school. I'm in high school last year rn. And i love recording blooopers too. Whatever you're saying it feels like I'm saying all that to myself. but i have this 2nd thought that i don't have a high quality camera or something, who's gonna watch even.
You’re in a wayyy better position than I am. You’re already making stuff when I just started in my late 20s! I’ll be making a video that answers your question in detail so I’ll try to get that out soon. For now, my advice is don’t worry about how well your video is going to do or if people would even watch it. Just get something out there first and then try to improve at least one aspect each video. I spent so much time planning and worrying for what I wanted the channel to be like even before putting out one video! At some point, I realized I just needed to get something out there. People these days want instant gratification when art is about the journey to creating your craft. Right now, focus on figuring out what your craft is. To do this, you need to put in a lot of practice and get results.
My first videos were filmed on my iPhone X and I only recently upgraded because I had the means to do so and thought that it would get me more views. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. There are so many other variables that make a great video.
I know this was a lengthy answer, but I hope this helps! I look forward to your journey😁
i watched the whole video, and now i wanna make videos too
Go for it!

Thank U
I don’t know what for, but you’re welcome! Thanks for stopping by☺️
i've thought about recording my life for a loong time, in form of sketchbooks or at least some notes, and i love my notes when i make them! but i can't stay consistent no matter how hard i try :C perhaps because i get overwhelmed with the amount of recorded information, and its storage, and its neccessity
did you have an anxiety issue of that kind?
Perhaps it may be the difference between recording for the sake of recording and recording because you know you want to cherish a certain moment. The two may sound similar, but there is a significant difference.
Recording for the sake of recording may be good practice, but if there is no strong purpose that you're convinced of as to why you're recording, then it'll be difficult to be consistent because subconsciously or consciously, you're not convinced as to why you should be recording. If you see my earlier videos, you can see how I've also been pretty inconsistent. The thing that got me back on track was finding a clear purpose/goal that I was convinced of. Ever since then, I never looked back.
Record memories that you have a strong emotional connection to is a good place to start because you'll write with your heart and not your mind. Hope this helps!
I realized I may have not actually answered your question😂
I do get overwhelmed with all the details I want to include, but the core purpose of the memory as to why I want to record it is almost always defined. I know why I want to record this moment so I just use that as a starting point and then include specific details like events leading to that point, people that were involved, emotions that I felt, etc. That’s how I tell my stories. Basically, anything that’ll make the picture more vivid for yourself and the audience is what I would try to focus on.
You’ll always be able to improve on your documenting, but at some point you have to start and finish. You have to accept that you’ve done the best you could with the given amount of time and experience you have. With each stride, you’ll get better and better at this skill, something you otherwise wouldn’t have experienced if you hadn’t tried in the first place.
Hope that answered your question!
what a good video ngl

❤️love your video a lot here me🤚, who have same dream as you but don’t know how to start and from where to start?….
First off, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I definitely struggled with getting started because I wanted everything to go as planned and be perfect. I was thinking about every little detail about how I can make the video awesome, what kind of impression to make, etc. , but this was even before making my first video! I realized that I can plan all I wanted, but at the end of the day, I had to get something out there.
I’m gna be totally honest, but not everything is going to go according to plan. You just gotta get something out there the way that you are and then adjust/improve accordingly. Once you get your first video out, I’m sure the second will be a lot easier and you’ll have a better sense of what direction you want to take with your channel. I didn’t know until this past year on how I wanted to conduct my channel😅
Best of luck on your journey. I’m super super excited for you!
@@conquerwestfilms thank you very very much it means a lot💓
how exactly do you document your life? meaning on a phone or you have a special camera? I just don’t know what is the right vibe and want to get some tips
These are great questions and it seems like you’re having the same thought process as I did. If you see my earlier videos, I filmed with my iPhone. Before making my first video, I would put way too much time thinking, strategizing, planning on what type of vibe or content I should do. I struggled for months and didn’t even have one video posted! What helped me was just getting the first video out no matter how bad the quality was. Go see my first video. It sucks, but it definitely helped me lessen the burden of getting something out there. The more I posted, the more I figured out what I wanted to make. You won’t know 100% what the vision is going to be, but you’ll learn from each and every video and get better and better. Once I figured out my direction, it was then that I upgraded to a dedicated video camera.
I know this was a long answer, but I hope this helps! Good luck on your documenting journey😊
something big coming........
👀👀👀👀👀
I've been documenting my daily vlog more than 1000 days but now... hurmmmm.. give me some money..
If you want to get monetized, then I would try to approach vlogging on RUclips a bit differently. Sure, documenting your life should be your core purpose, but you should also look into what gets views, how to get retention, what makes a good video, etc. Hope this helps😊
@@conquerwestfilms thanks you so much..your words make me goosebump..
Anytime my dude
How'd you get started with film? This is genuinely my goal
Last year, after realizing I wanted to find what I really wanted to do, I started on RUclips as I’ve always wanted to start my own channel. I was super hesitant to start because I wasn’t sure what I had to offer, but also if whatever I offered was going to be good. After a long time, I realized I was worrying and trying to plan too much even before uploading my first video! My friend suggested to go on Skillshare and take Ali Abdaal’s RUclipsr Starter course. Basically, he encourages you to just upload whatever you have for your first video. No edits, no special effects, just simply introducing yourself and uploading it. This was actually more helpful than I thought because it took away the burden of trying to make everything perfect. So if you want to get started, just do it! You’ll figure out what you want to do after each project. I know this was a long answer, but I hope this helped!
@@conquerwestfilms Wow thank you! Honestly so excited to watch your growth - great film style!

A date to remember!
What if your past was completely f***ed? What does that make you?
There are memories even I don’t want to remember, but I don’t just ignore them because anyone who has those kinds of memories know that they always stick with you. At that point, it’s a matter of how you handle them. Now, in the context of documenting, every memory or experience, whether good or bad, contributes to who you are today. How you document that is up to you.
I’m not sure if I answered your question, but I hope this helps☺️
dude you gotta learn SFX its gonna change the quality of your videos
