    Something to note about brake fluid, just because it's low doesn't mean you have a leak. As your pads wear down there will be more fluid in the lines making it look like you have lower than normal fluid. Check your brakes before adding fluid or trying to find a leak.

    I have this same engine on my Promaster City 2018 Cargo Van for almost a year now - no issues. I've customized it with a much bigger battery (115AH), 1200 Watt power inverter and 100 Watt solar panel on the roof so I can run a Vent Fan, Fridge, Stove and all my power tools. I basically work, sleep, eat and travel in it and will spend weeks on the road without hotels, restaurants and even public bathrooms. Details on my channel … It's been awesome.

    I was told by multiple people the 2.4 had issues with burning oil. First thousand miles I noticed it went down a half quart. The dealer told me it was normal before the first oil change. They were right. Not an issue since. Great gas mileage in my Renegade. Around 30 mpg on highway if I go around 60.
    Best handling vehicle I’ve ever driven in snow. Make sure you replace the stock tires asap.

      Paul Lyons it looks like it is a plate for the exhaust manifold. I no longer have this car. I would say it was made of cheap steel (carbon steel) and not painted. So the elevated heat from the exhaust has cause the metal to rust at low mileage. Probably no issue for now.
      If that makes no sense what is the time stamp of the part you’re referring to.

      You shouldn’t have any trouble passing people people with the 2.4. I have a 2015, the transmission is a little goofy so you have to give a solid push to wake up the engine and then she is pretty quick at any speed.

      The Jeep Renegade has no problem passing people, In fact Jeep didn't like the top speed of the Renegade, it was too high, they govern its top speed and its max acceleration for safety concerns.

      Had a 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk that lasted 190K miles before getting T-boned by a red-light runner who was going 50mph at the point of impact. Only problem I ever had with it was the self lubricated radiator went bad but they replaced it. The Jeep Renegade is both surprisingly reliable and incredibly safe/strong.

      Guadalupe Angulo by power, do you mean acceleration/pick up? It does lag going into gear, but the specs for the Renegade say 0-60 in about 9.something seconds. This ain’t the vehicle for speed or power. It’s just the least expensive off road friendly suv in the Jeep lineup. If you want highway speed and acceleration, I’m betting the Compass is a more suitable vehicle

  • @mr.c1563

    Here's an engine review. 2018 Jeep Renegade needs new engine because of oil consumption issues. Many of them including mine will burn excessive amounts of oil between oil changes. To the tune of 3 quarts. Its a defect and covered under warranty but a new vehicle should not be having these problems. Otherwise I really like the vehicle.

    • @12vLife
      @12vLife 4 года назад

      How did you first notice the issue?

    • @mr.c1563
      @mr.c1563 4 года назад

      My engine light flashed briefly and I decided to check the oil. I thought it was a crazy idea since i was in between my first and second oil change. I was down almost 3 quarts. Brought it to the dealer. They were doing an oil consumption test and I had to bring it back 3 times after every 1000 miles. It failed each time. Down a quart or so every 1000 miles. They scoped the engine and defects were found inside the cylinder walls. They replaced the engine under warranty. From what I understand they no longer require the oil consumption tests...they just scope it and go from there. This new engine seems a bit more lively and so far have had no issues.

      @@AutOdometer I didnt mean any disrespect man. But to clear it up just in case you dont know about it. The EGR runs hoses from the valve cover and crank case back to your intake manifold. EGR is the use of PCV back into the engine. Many engines that are direct injection like the 1.3l renegade suffer from carbon buildup on the valves because of EGR. That's why the 2.4l are slightly better. I dont care for FIAT-Chrysler. But they can implement both DI and port injection for a cooler intake and cleaner valves for gasoline engines.

      Jeep Renegade. It should be against the law for Fiat to trick people like that. They build a fiat that is known for being junk. Their motors have been known to burn out as soon as 13,000 miles. Their transmissions are the same. If you own one it won't make it to 75,000 miles without major work. The motors are 99% not even repairable! They burn oil really bad as well. Fiats are known as the worst motor in America. So are their transmissions. Their sells are so bad that Fiat is thinking about pulling that brand out of America! BUT they found a way tom TRICK people by putting a Jeep name on it!!! That should be against the law! A lot of people are buying them not knowing they are getting ripped off!! A Jeep Renegade is just a Fiat with the Jeep name stamped on it.

      @@tomthorn2887 The 2.4L engine is manufactured in Dundee, Michigan and was designed by Dodge engineers. It's used in various platforms as well. Although, I would never buy a Renegade it has some interesting specs to it, such as the "TigerShark". By your logic the majority of vehicles being sold should be "illegal", though. Hell, GM just cut jobs significantly within the U.S. due to poor product sales; that makes them equal to FIAT, Volvo, etc.? Also, there are collaborations throughout the automotive industry: Chrysler/FIAT, Dodge/Nissan, Subaru/Toyota, Ford/Mazda, the list is endless. Unfortunately, all manufacturers produce models that come up lame (Commonly "low end" models). That practice should be better regulated in my opinion, but can also be mitigated by consumers rejecting the line. IE: Don't buy $h*+.
