Thank you for posting this video. I was stressing about having to do this because I just kept picturing the engine getting way out of alignment when I removed the mount. I literally watched your video and went out and replaced the mount in under 20 minutes. Because you were so helpful, I'll let the loud music slide. 😆
I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade with 105,000 miles. This issue/vibration just began last year, but has progressively gotten worse and more irritating this year! I've ordered the part (now $232) and I already have the E-socket for working on my BMW GS 1200, so hoping to resolve this issue very soon. Thanks for the very helpful video! It will save me money :-)
quite helpful. I have started noticing a vibration when a turn the ac on. It sounds like its coming form the back on the vehicle but after some research it seems to be the mount. Very simple video. thank you
So I have Jack stands but only a semi good jack. Is there a way I could pull this off with those? Should I jack it a little to get space for the stands or what's best practice
Great video, really appreciate the help, was intimidated at first so I asked local shops for estimate and they wanted 400 for just the passenger mount replacement !
Thank you for the video. I always check youtube before doing a repair, because many times someone has found an easier way to do the job. Exactly as described, I had to buy the sockets, best to find out before tearing into the job. Other than that super easy job .
Appreciate you sharing the video I do have a few questions. I noticed you didn't use a torque wrench when you were putting the bolts back in. Are torque specs not really needed for this type of repair? Also what about blue thread locker? I have access to the service manual for the 2015 Jeep renegade. And in it are three specific torque specs for the right passenger side mount. Right engine mount bracket bolts - 74/ft. Lbs Right engine mount to frame rail - 44/ft. Lbs @45° Right engine mount to engine mount bracket - 66/ft. Lbs @45° I'm stumped figuring out which bolts apply to which torque spec. Any advice?
I don’t think the torque specs are super important, just make them all “good and tight”. That being said, there are only 2 types of bolts I’m aware in this repair. Engine to mount & mount to frame.
Hi, im own one 500x 1.4 multiair, my mechanic say the cause why my car shaking is the partially collapse of the engine mount but why when is cold i feel this vibration everywhere inside the cabin and when is warming up don't shake anymore but i can earn small noise on the engine ?? Thank you 😊
dude this is a great video ive been dealing with this problem for years i never could find a reason ive always thought this was the problem now it makes total scene
Thank you so much kind sir I took it to the jeep dealer and they told me thats normal on all jeep renegade they just Rado a little bit bullshit thank you so much for your video
I was told by the dealership that one of my mounts needed to be replaced, but they will only replace if you do all 3. Dumb question, but I checked my passenger side engine mount and it doesn't have the "line" or appear to be coming away from the rubber. Are the top mounts the same on both sides of the engine?
thanks for the video i been experience the same issue on my 2015 JR TH, Ill have to try this. i am not looking forward for the removal of the skid plate
I'm sure they do but I personally just torque them "good and tight". I bet you can Google the transmission mount torque specs if you want to do it right.
You really should wash that engine regularly to remove that kind of dirt. Believe it or not that dirt will find its way into your engine, transmission and differential. Make cleaning the engine bay part of your maintenance routine. Mine still looks brand new even after 49000 miles.
I want to clean mine please help any advice and recommendations would be great what should I cover what solution do you use. I detail my fiat all the time but haven't cleaned my bay
@@housebaelishgaming , I just use a regular water based degreaser solution. I spray it all over the motor and engine bay taking care not to wet electrical items too much. Then I wash it off using a garden hose. To dry I use a small air blower. It works really good. I'm not too worried if the alternator got wet. The important parts like bearings are sealed. no water will get in. To make the plastic and rubber parts like hoses look nice and black I just spray them with armorall. There are many products out there that will do a good job.
Generally, the only complaints I have seen about repeated failure is with a single mount being replaced. Both the driver and passenger mount were redesigned. Generally the third mount on the bottom is fine.
My dad ordered the new mounts for my sister’s Jeep. They arrived at the dealership recently. How long does it take for technicians to swap these parts? They said to drop off the car for 5 to 6 days. Can’t believe this didn’t make it to the list of recalls for this Jeep.
Just had some recalls done...catalytic converter and software update. They didn't say anything bout the mounts. But I agree if they were poorly made, it should be a recall to replace all the mounts after so many yrs to be safe.

Jack stands. I seriously recommend those for a job like this. Stability is your friend.

Great description of how to step by step ❤️❤️
You can use a 7/16 12 point socket as well. Torque is 68 ft/lbs.
If you do the other one please make a video as well

Thanks for making this video, bro! My 2015 has a vibration in gear at idle as well. I’m going to check for that “line” on the mount later today.
Is the repair the same for the Renegade Latitude?

There may be multiple causes, I suggest starting with the engine mount & then re-test.
Thank you for this video 🤝 I been trying to figure this out all day

great video thank you,, is it safe to apply the weight to the oil pan? i'm assuming so since you did it i was just making sure thats ok?

Nice video. What brand of mount did you use?

I’m having the same problem but also am having a hard time finding replacement part. Would you mind sharing where you found this part?
Sorry Christina, I just saw your comment. I ordered it from dodgeparts.com part#68363755AA
@@TheNudnikNation on mopars website, the part says right motor mount. This is the same as the passenger motor mount you replaced correct?
@@codyblack3654 it's been awhile but yes, I think that is correct.
Awesome!
Thanks for the tutorial!
I just ordered mine.
Where did you order from
eBay, You can get the updated motor mount for under $100 shipped
Thankss🎉
I have this current problem where did you get the part from
from the dealership
Did you have to jack up the engine a bit when you put your bigger jack under?
Just a little bit. Not much lift needed. It was more about support than anything else.
Awesome video
Would a different socket help get the bolts out or does it have to be an E14?
It has to be an E14 socket. That is the correct socket for that bolt.
The smaller jack was not tall enough or was not strong enough?
Was not tall enough if I remember correctly. You don’t have to live the entire car, just the engine to support it while you replace the mount.
Does the bolts need to be torqued after installing the new mount?
I'm sure they do but I personally just torque them "good and tight". I bet you can Google the transmission mount torque specs if you want to do it right.
❤ thank you
What about the other motor mounts
I never had to replace the other motor mounts before we sold the car.
@@TheNudnikNation I told the wife we should sale here’s too!

Lol! Sorry but I’m in Texas. You can do it yourself. I believe in you.
Supposely the dealer changed them all, but not even a year later It started again. I guess they use them 2015 mounts 🙄
