The best thing about your videos is that they are "warts and all" we're allowed to see the real-life issues that occur during training and the steps you take to rectify them so that we can learn. Most of us our here to learn and very often we're trying to resolve some challenges we have, so there's very little benefit is seeing highly trained dogs going through their paces. In fact it can be quite disheartening, you start to wonder if you're the only one with the challenge. Just your comment "this happens to everyone of us" does so much to reassure. This is the hallmark of a great teacher, thank you
I really love that you are bringing you're not finished dogs to this videos to show how to train with them. Most of the other youtube trainers would just bring their FTCH dog to show the exercises and of course those would work just perfectly! But i think whats most important is to show what can go wrong and how to correct it properly! Great work guys really enjoying you're videos!
Fantastic work ,I can’t believe the size of your decoy spread and I will follow your posts diligently to get my GSP to become more direct in her work. Thank you from Australia. Cheers Wayne
Fantastic Vid! Best part for me was seeing your dog in the first segment, screw up! How real can it get! I got a two year old Lab/Boxer from a rescue outside of Philli, PA. Going on my 2nd month with her and can't believe how smart she is, how fast she picks up on stuff! Our first fetch session with the decoy spoiled me! She learned and responded like a show dog. But for the last week or so, with her excitement, she's thrown it all away. Instead of returning to me, she runs past me, or will get out there then stop and chew on her birdie! AAAaaarg! So seeing stuff like this happening to a professional trainer only gives me hope! Thank you for sharing your expertise! You have another subscriber! Best- Mike & his Mutt... Kitty! :)
Thank you very much Josh, you gave me already a lot of inspiration. The way you teach your dogs is amazing, a real example for all of us. Greetings Kurt Belgium
I love that you took a dog which isnt already trained in this exercise and that you kept the part where the exiercise falls apart. Honestly, most show us training where the dog does the job perfect and there isnt really a chance to learn anything. Thanks!!
Amazing video. I love how much detail is in this one. I have an 8 month old chocolate lab I'm trying to get waterfall ready for this Winter, your videos help a ton thank you.
Thanks for the videos! They've been super helpful! Do you worry about a left turn back cast Vs a right turn back cast? Does that come later? Or does it come naturally?
Thanks Josh and the team for your vids!! Like previous comments, really nice to see what can go wrong cuz hey... It happens right!? Looking forward for next vids, keep em coming!!
I really want a lab but I work a full time job. I got my first lab when I was 12 and I trained him to go off leash in a field and on our lawn in just 3 weeks at the age of 15 weeks. I work a full time job and I am going to give him 1 hour of field exercise in the morning and 1-2 hours when I come home. I will also be paying a neighbourhood kid to walk my dog around the block and play with him in my backyard for a bit. Do you think my dog will be ok.
Изучают и собираю ваше видео ☝😕☝, очень нравится 👍👌👏 , коротко ,просто и понятно ( даже если не владею в совершенстве англ. ) Вопрос - в мешочке перо птицы ??? Thenk 's
Interesting you use the same command to go left or right (get on), but what if the dog can't see you or you can't see the dog and the judge says your dog needs to go left...which way will it go?!
When she doesn't want to come into you with the dummy try turning and gently running in the opposite direction and call her up. Normally works well. Nice videos 👍

What whistle do you use? Do you recommend a whistle with or without a pea? And at what age should you start using the whistle? Thanks!

If the dog was properly collar conditioned getting the dog to come is no problem! No matter what you are doing with the dog!
