- This video shows the steps to re calibrate a whirlpool top load coin op washer. These are the new computer controlled washers that replace the reliable direct drive washers.
Amazing video helped me several times
You just saved my family over $1500
Wow that is a lot of savings!
Thank you SO much. Electronics would like to take us ALL out! Things aren't difficult if you just have instructions, like yours. You're saving us and lots of other folks here a TON of money on service calls. Again, appreciate it very much.
Thanks so much for posting this!
Your welcome.
Two days ago, I went to use the machine on our floor -- only two rental units use it and the other unit is vacant. My spouse and I tried the usual plug and unplug, check the drain for clogs, flip breakers, blah blah.
My clothes didn't spin out and the machine locked up with all lights on. Well, hell, now what? We sat watching videos and no one could quite get it right. Finally, watched your video and you showed us how to fully put the machine into service mode and mentioned emptying out the drum before doing so. Magic! It did eat my first $1.50 that locked the machine up, but after it re-calibrated, washed a load of clothes without issue! Thank you for this video. Definitely worth it since the landlord was basically told the same thing as you as far as service.
Thank you for sharing this
I'm a maintenance guy and you saved me so much headache thank you so much
Glad I could help
You, sir, are truly a man of the people. This is exactly what we needed!
This video saved me $140!! A few months ago all lights were lit, called a Service Man that won't tell me what he done to fix it. It happen again, then I watched your ever saving video...great job!!!
Im so glad that I was able to help 😄👍
Thank you so much
Super helpful video. First time this happened to me, I had to have a service company come out, which I couldn't be home for. Sadly cost me 160 dollars for the service without an answer as to what happened. I just used your troubleshooting process, the washer was back up and working within a half hour. Your a life saver man. Thanks for the great video
john emondsmith yes sir, glad I could help
Thank you sir! Im a 12 year old kid and I was doing laundry, and this happened. So I saw this video and it worked! My lanlord was at his mom's house and I was the only one that does laundry.
MTGaming no problem glad I could help. that's very impressive you're doing laundry at 12 years old, most 12 year olds I have seen are too lazy to do their own laundry so Kudos young man
Piling on to say thank you! Our landlord isn't responsive and we've been having laundry problems for months with many folks coming out to look at it to no avail. Good work!
Thank you
Landlord waits to send someone to recalibrate the machine for weeks so I’m so glad you uploaded this so I can cut the middleman and just do it myself
Thats why I published the video. 😊
You saved me and my dad a lot of headache. You are a hero
Thank you, sir! Can't thank you enough for taking your time to help people like us. All the best and more power to you, good sir!
Thankyou very much for the nice comment 😊
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This video's been one of the most useful to date! Had this issue a few months back, cost the landlord $300 I think he stated to have a guy come out and look at it, he watched what he did, kept the instruction page and the second time it happened, I fixed it myself by performing the combination. Yesterday the machine decides to pull this stunt again, I spent half an hour trying everything, nothing, tried your combo (which was different from the machine instructions by one turn - at the end it states turn counterclockwise, then clockwise, landing at "normal", yours worked perfectly. Thank you so much for taking the time to upload this!
That is why I do this. I don't see why someone should have to pay the money to have a tech come out every time someone simply overloads the machine. Have a good one :-)
Great help. Thanks!!!!
Thank you it helped
Great!
Hell! Air Force uses these machines! You are a life saver!
Thanks!!
My super sucks
Lol
Whirlpool is very secretive with their repair information for ALL appliances. It's all about the money (repair service call). Thanks for posting this.
I know and hard to deal with. I just published another video labled whirlpool all lights on fix part 2. It has the info needed to find out what is wrong with the washer.
+Bbernhardsr Link please.

It helps a lot thanks
Thank you!!
Your welcome!
I appreciate this video, I fixed my machine !!!!! Thank you RUclips I am a visual learner and this video was easy to follow !!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Godless you for your generous contribution to the world!!
Thank you very much. However, for me, after plugging it back in, all the lights came on. Moving the duty knob did nothing. I had to lift the lid, and hold it open, and then turn the knob as indicated to get it to reset.
Tech sheets are in a plastic slip that is attached to the inside of front cover of machine. Jut use large flat screwdriver to pop open.
Yep, yep. A little late to the party but whirlpool didn't put the manual inside of everyone's cover. Thanks for the info.
Thank you so much!! It worked for my Apt. Complex.
Im so glad it worked for you :-)
Thank you so much!!! Machine is working now!
Elizabeth Wong glad it worked for you
Thank you !!!!
Thank you so much cause this video I fixed my machine in Taiwan
谢谢你这么多的评论。我很高兴地知道,我从那么远的地方,帮助人们:-)

SIR!!! you is a darn hero in my book
Thank you!!!!!!!!
Thanks a million, so happy this procedure worked, were back in business, lol
WOW worked here on one our machines thanks a million!!!!!
Whirlpool is freakin rediculous , its darn near impossible to get any assistance from them. This video was helpful though thanks.
Bro you saved the day!! Thanks!
You are a life saver!!!
God bless you for the help man, thank you!
You're the man. Thanks for sharing this. Fixed my problem. Just gotta get my six quarters back from the landlord now haha.
Thank you! Seems to have remedied the issue.
There is a manual in the machine. By the drum
Damn this is a gem to find.
Thank you very much brother...
You’re a god, bro.
This was perfect! Thank you!!!
This video definitely worked!! Thank you solo Much!
Thank you! Worked on my Kenmore :)
Service Manuel comes taped to the inside of the machine life lid and look back to your stomach with head in machine
My lid locked light did not come on what do you think that could be? Thank you so much
You would need to go through the diagnostic steps in the manual to manually test tge lid lock device. They do fail and the machine will not run without it.
Thanks Bbernhardsr. That totally worked!
Glad I could help. There is a link in the comments to my second video where I showed the other functions.
You are a Godsend
thank! you! washing machine works now
Cool Beans :-)
Great
This keeps happening to my machine. Ill do this recalibrating cycle and itll be done and then theyll do a load of laundry and itll do it again and rise and repeat and wont stop erroring out with the same problem all lights back on. I would like some help or ideas to this problem.
To be completely honest with you. These machines are garbage and made to be thrown away. In my opinion they are not worth investing any kind of money into. Once they get to the point of where they are constantly breaking down, it will become one problem after another. If you like I have made a 6 video series on these machines and in the series I go over all of the troubleshooting steps you can perform. Maybe you could give that a try. Good luck.
God Bless you my friend
The tech sheet is stuck to the inner front wall. It gives you all of this information.
Thank you for posting these videos, most definitely helpful! Question for you...on the model you’re working with, do you know how to adjust the water level when doing normal/heavy loads? My machine isn’t filling the drum enough for a proper soak...Thank you again!
Unfortunately I do believe that the water level is not controllable. Yet another reason why I did not like this machine and it made me happy to watch the machine smash it at the recycle yard.
Dang it! Well hopefully after I install my new lid switch I can recalibrate the machine or maybe restore it factory settings. Fingers crossed.
@@justinhart1387 that is about the best you can do is run the machine through a recalibration.
Bbernhardsr
Hey buddy, Im hoping you can help me out here...without a doubt I had to replace the entire lid locking part on my machine (the coil was all burnt out). I just installed the new part and when I attempt to run a calibration test, you can hear it clicking but i don’t believe it’s actually locking the lid...any suggestions?
@@justinhart1387 I would say as long as the system thinks it is locked and allowing it to run, don't worry about it. Do you really need it to be locked?
Calibration seems to woke fine. machine does not recognize coin drop
If the machine does not recognize the coin drop then that part of the main board has failed. When I bought a remanufactured main board that was the issue I had with mine. I moved the jumper pins on the coin validator which bypassed it. This made the machine wash for free. Luckily my tennants had grown accustomed to putting money in so they never realized that it would wash for free if they just pushed the start button.
I did that because I was so tired of investing money into that piece of junk machine. When I purchased a new main board, at that point I had invested enough money that I could have bought another machine. I was not going to put another dime into fixing it.
@@Bbernhardsr
Thank you for responding
It’s so frustrating. I called several techs to come take a look and they say they will and never show up. One showed up and took a look for not even 5 minutes ( I was talking to a neighbor for a few seconds). Before I knew it he came to me saying ok it’s working zelle me $60 and call me if you have any issues. Tried the machine before sending payment. IT DID NOT WORK!! Now he’s not responding to my messages
This machine of mine is 5 years old !!! A couple of tenants are now deciding no machine, no rent!!! Amazing.
@@MariA-gu3qk to be honest these machines are not worth the revenue they generate. The amount of money I spent on repair parts as well as labor I doubt I even broke even using this machine. I tell everyone the best washers ever made were the whirlpool / kenmore direct drive units. With some looking you can find a good used unit on facebook market place or stores that sell coin op units. I have two of them for my rental wahers and have 0 problems. They have certain components that are considered wear items but they are cheap to do. I have a direct drive washer for my personal washer at home and will never get rid of it.
Nothing happened after recalibration, any idea?
Follow the steps in my other videos on the topic, look for how to check each component one by one. I know my lid lock gave me a bunch of issues. Maybe start there.
@@Bbernhardsr Yes, the lid lock led never turn on. Can you give me the link plz?
@@tonyshen8818 ok if the lid lock never comes on then there is no need to diagnose further. You need to replace the lid lock. The machine will not work unless the lid lock functions.
So after going through the steps all the lights do not turn off. The soak/wash light remains on, does this indicate something else?
Could have been a fault discovered in the calibration process. Watch the other videos I have on this machine. It may be the 2nd or 3rd video that I go over the manual.
You da man! Much thanks and aloha
Thank-you!!!!
Dear Bbernhardsr!!
Thanks for uploading the video. I have a different whirlpool model CAE2745FQ0 (newer version I believe) and the dial is different from what you have in this video. Would you know the dialing sequence for my model as well? I'm very frustrated that mine is actually less than a year old and the manufacturer's warranty is only covering parts not labor. I've tried to reach out the whirlpool about resetting/recalibrating and they responded back saying only way to reset is to unplug and plug back.
I would thank you a million if you would reply back to me. God bless!
If you lay the machine down on its back so that you can look up into the cabinet, you should find the book to the machine taped to the inside of the cabinet in a plastic bag. Whirpool won't tell you that either. Good luck with that piece of junk. Let me know if you found the manual. It may taped up by the top so look way up in the machine.
Thank you for the video! Mine is froze in "wash" mode and full of water. Tried to enter recalibration mode and nothing happened. Any suggestions?
If you have tried to enter the service mode like I show and nothing happens, you probably need a new computer. Have you tried unplugging it for a while?
Thanks for sharing this! How did you get all the lights to turn off so you could get it into calibration mode, though?
You just perform the sequence and it will be ready to go to the calibration mode.
thank you....
thank you !!!!!#!
AMAZING!
Ty It work
The real question is why these machines have this problem. I've also found error code F2E4 not listed on the tech guide.
The #1 problem I have found is overloading. Once I had explained to my tennents about overloading I do not have this problem anymore. With my machine it kept sending error code for not being able to reach target rpm. The manual explains how to test what would cause this problem. After I checked out all steps listed the only thing left was too much laundry in the machine
+Bbernhardsr That's a good theory, I also saw another thread on how a faulty or intermittant ground will cause the same all lights on issue. Thanks for the reply. appliantology.org/topic/46686-whirlpool-commercial-coin-op/
is there a setting to have the machine fill up all the way. my customers hate this new machine because it only fills quarter ways clothing come out with soap stains or dry spots. I need to find out how to make this machine will all the way please help
It sounds like to me you need to watch my follow up video on how to check for trouble codes. The amount of water is non adjustable, the machine sences how much water needs to be in there. Sounds like to me you have an issue with either the machine being able to sense how much is in the machine, or an issue with the water supply to tje machine. Also make sure the drain hose is up higher than the machine. Let me know if I can be further assistance
Its funny, I heard on the news yesturday that Sears will no longer be carrying Whirlpool products. Their stocks are also going down. I wonder if it has anything to do with people being tired of them manufacturing shitty products like this machine?
YOUR SERVICE MANUAL INSIDE CABNET HOUSING IN THE FRONT IN A PLASTIC BAG
Would be helpful if you could take pics of each important page of manual and send to me via email! Would that be possible? Greatly appreciate it.
Whirlpool service dept is horrible. The repair technician wasn't much better. Better to learn how to fix it yourself.
I have same piece of shit machine! Whirlpool will be bankrupt soon if they keep selling products this unreliable piece of shit! I have 3 Kenmore s that are 20 y/o still working. just replace lid switch.
Electro Mech I agree with you 100%. I have one of those old Kenmore washing machines and it still works I just have to rebuild the clutch which I'm going to do and then I'm going to scrap this piece of garbage. This thing is purposely designed to fail. All of us owners of these pieces of junk ought to come together and start a class action lawsuit to get our money back for buying one of these pieces of junk!
Just heard on the news that Sears will no longer carry Whirlpool products in their stores, and whirlpool stock is dropping. Coincidence?
Thank you
Thank you!!!!!
