The fact that Richard was tearing up just remembering what it was like to have worked on these films 20 years ago, just goes to show what passion and love everyone involved with creating the masterpiece that is LotR had and still have now, to telling the story Tolken penned so long ago. I honestly wish I was able to get in for the preorders of this piece.
Richard Taylor hasn't seemed to age much the past 20+ years! Nice to see the emotion from him even after all of this time and so much work they've done since on so many projects.
@@Strand0410 ...2026 called. It wants its waaaay overused response to overused old memes back! (voiced in Zoolander "Earth to Meekus"... erm, voice...)🤣
"... and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together, and tears are the very wine of blessedness." This is just wonderful. Your work has been astounding for decades! And remains so!
Looking at this environment, so beautifully presented in the video, it actually evokes the same bittersweet emotions I had when watching the last scenes in the film. Absolutely Amazing!
Two decades since the end of the greatest movie trilogy ever. You and your team, as well as everyone else who worked on these movies, gave me a slew of happy cinema memories, just as you did with millions of others. I thank you all 😊
I remember as a kid being so sad that I could not pause the movies, and literally expend the screen to explore and see more of these incredible locations from LOTR like Mithlond or Rivendell, Minas Tirith and Hobbiton. And that is the biggest compliment to you guys and your work, you literally made these location feel alive! Its so bittersweet to see the whole set piece like this after 20 years. P:S: I would LOVE if Peter Jackson released a master extended edition of LOTR with even more deleted scenes, more behind the scenes and more of the entire process of bringing Middle Earth to life.
Weta randomly popped into my mind a few minutes ago as if some unknown force was telling me something precious is coming. All I can say about this new piece is WOW!
This is unbelievably gorgeous. I have always thought that if I could visit anywhere in Middle-earth it might have to be the Grey Havens; the design of it on screen was just exquisite. This new environment looks like it captures everything about it that works so well... I've never bought one of these, but that might be changing now.
I love that it evokes the gateway into the Blessed Realm, the Calacirya, the Pass of Light. They're not just leaving Middle-earth, they're entering Valinor.
Beautiful work, thank you all for the wonderful memories, looking forward to many more! My wife and I were married in Middle-earth (NZ) ten years ago now, what a magical adventure that was, great memories! Valar
The work that Weta did on these movies (and many others) will simply never be topped. 20 years later the movies still look like nothing ever seen. I'm 42, I was 19 when I was blessed to see Fellowship of the ring. I truly believe that nothing in my lifetime will ever match the love and magic that these movies produced for our generation. The piece looks fantastic, now make a 1:6 Denethor ;)
I'm not normally fussed about the environment models ( compared to the character models etc ) but I must admit, this looks like something special. The level of detail and work that has gone into it by the team is beautiful. It always brings a smile to my face knowing Weta Workshop love Lord of the Rings as much as me XD
It is great to hear you going into detail about the thoughts and process that goes into your work. It would also be fantastic to hear some of your thoughts on the designs of the Rings of Power, the video you released a while ago was such a great tease!
This video was just a random appearance on my youtube feed. Hearing Richard's voice again talking about developing something. Took me back to watching the extended edition BTS of LOTR. LOTR bts, along with movies and some other films, are what got me hooked on acting and filmmaking as a kid. I'm 31 now, been on a few sets, directed a few ads, acted in a few ads, was an extra on some movies and tv shows. Some of the greatest memories of my life are on set for a Disney's Toy Story Land commercial as an actor. All of that said, that hook, that inspiration, was fueled by hearing and watching the cast and crew of LOTR. idk if you'll see this Richard, you have a recognizable voice and I honestly just got a bit emotional just from hearing your voice. To think I'm where I'm at in my life, inspired by you guys. Thank you for putting your heart and soul into LOTR and beyond. Truly, thank you. Keep on creating
4:40 😢 awww, Richard. I cried so hard in the theater when the last movie came out. I can’t imagine how bittersweet it must have been to pull off these momentous films and then have to say farewell to so many talented people who helped bring it all to life. You guys are amazing, and even 20 years later, you continue to show us the ethereal, heartbreaking beauty of Middle-Earth ❤️
You know working at Weta is a dream job when so many people have been working there for so many years :) On-topic, this environment is gorgeous! Bravo to everyone who worked on it!
I saw Helms Deep and Grey Havens on Zorpazorp. Just finished all three appendices while painting minis and cutting little foam bricks. Still teared up when the casts says their goodbyes on RotK. Incredible 21 years later and I'm still in love with every second of the extended cuts.
When I heard that the Grey Havens would be the environment I knew I had to get this. It will be my only environment sadly I wish I could afford them all but this feels right like it was meant to be the one I get. The movies were such a magical experience when I saw them 20 years ago and I got so emotional not only thinking of them and what the grey havens represent but also for all the making of footage from the films and the faces so familiar to me it feels like home. This piece looks exquisite and what a fitting tribute to celebrate 20 years since the return of the king 💚
First thing I would do if I owned any of these is prime them up and re paint them. Not that they aren’t well done, but I have worked as a professional model/figure painter. And spending as much time, and putting as much detail into these as I want to would be a joy.
Wow what a bittersweet beautiful piece of work! Feels like saying good by to the era that was The Lord of the Rings.. Thank you Weta for inspiring a generation!
Unfortunately life causes me to take gaps out of these sorts of things and as the writing of my comment, this item is sold out. Too bad since this would absolutely be something I'd want to collect. Beautiful piece. Hopefully a scalper won't ask too much for it later on.
imagine being part of the team that created a trilogy of movies the likes of which have never been and will likely never be seen again. Must be great knowing that you created peak cinema.
This is fantastic, truly stunning. You know what they should also do? The entirety of Isengard during its orc/uruk hai occupation and maybe even another version during the attack of the ents and its flooding, that would be cool. The city of Osgiliath, that would go extremely well with Minas Tirith and the Argonath to complete they’re collection of Gondor, I hope to get Minas Tirith and the Argonath someday and maybe even Osgiliath God-Willing, and like Isengard, make it before and after it’s ruined state, and pretend that when the war ended it was rebuilt back to its former glory, and maybe even mount doom and the tower of cirith ungol until to go with Barad-Dur, Minas morgul, and the black gates of Mordor to complete they’re Mordor collection, as well as the entirety of Edoras the capital of Rohan. they would be amazing editions to anyone’s lord of the rings collection. Please spare no detail nor environment of middle earth Weta workshops! Anyone with me on this?
The concept art shown at 1:34 isn't the Grey Havens. It's actually Minas Tirith docks. You can tell because the White Tower of Ecthelion is viewable high up in the distance, as is the flat rock jutting out like the prow of a ship.
I wouldn't trust any other company when it comes to any form of art depicting one of the greatest trilogies in movie history. You people made my most favourite fantasy come to life in the films and then again in collectable format. I hope these pieces won't be the last and that you'll work on other pieces come the 30th anniversary and beyond. Also i would like to take the time to thank everyone at Weta Workshop for your amazing talent and skills in making Tolkien's world come to life. Even if i cannot afford to buy every piece you make the very fact that you continue to out do everything you have done before is something that any artist or art lover would commend. I hope some day you gain access to the Silmarillion because i am waiting for the day you can finally depict Fingolfin vs Melkor. Thanks for all your hard work over the years and for inspiring those others who buy your works. I think at the end of the day all a Tolkien fan really wants is to have a little piece of that world to brag about, feel inspired by and remember. You make this universe feel alive, whether you be the artists working on these pieces or just someone up in the administration dealing with all the paperwork. You are a company that many have grown to love. So again, thank you for your service. Thank you for your vision and for your passion.
I didn't know Weta had a YT channel ! +1 sub 🔥 You guys inspired me becoming a filmmaker when I was a kid, watching the making of of the original trilogy of LOTR Thank you so much 🙏
I would really love a special edition where all the effects and 3D renders are re-done/rendered with modern tech. I know alot don't want this. But most of the same people that did the original work can do it or help to do it. I love these movies, but in some places its starting to show its age.
I don't know if we'll ever see a film ever again like Lord of the Rings... this truly captures that feeling
very small chances. Dune movies come close but still far away :)
Getting one of the original bigature artists to work on this miniature is such a blessing
"It is time Frodo."
Me: *cries every time*
"I will not say do not weep, for not all tears are an evil."
I am so glad knowing, that there are still lore conform, Prof. Tolkien respecting creators, who keep the real Lord of the Rings alive and in memory.

...I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying! A truly magnificent final piece, team!♥

We are so grateful for what you bought to the world. The trilogy to rule them all. Oh my word, the memories.
I will always be grateful for the hard work you have done in the past and continue to do for us!
Much appreciated 😊
Looking at this environment, so beautifully presented in the video, it actually evokes the same bittersweet emotions I had when watching the last scenes in the film. Absolutely Amazing!
Our media team did such an excellent job capturing the rich emotions 🙌

Thank you for keeping the magic of Lord of the Rings always burning.
I fricking love Weta Workshop I'm in New Zealand right now!!!
Come visit us if you get the chance 😁
Everything WETA is pure creation 🦋

You brought to life what so many fans dreamt of but couldn't truly visualize; fantastic.
This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful miniatures (or should I say bigatures :) ) I've ever seen. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Amazing work of art.. thanks for sharing your memories 🙏🙏

I absolutely agree these movies were a magical experience that won't be surpassed they're timeless.
Love to see their artists using Blender. What a journey it's been to follow both Weta Workshop and Blender. Couple of GOATs

Please put them in an exhibition. Would definitely be willing to pay to see all this beauty with my own eyes.
i love watching these kind of behind the scenes type of videos, some might say it takes away the magic but for me it adds to it.

Can’t wait to see your review! I remember how thorough Minas Tirith’s was.
Absoutely will be added to our gallery. Beautiful piece Weta team :)

Beautiful.💚 Well done all at Weta.👏
Mate we need an extended extended edition cut not miniature of a miniature. Peter Jackson wants to do it already, just give him a green light
Beautiful skill and passion. Thank you so much to all of you for everything you do. You are inspiring.
This is a masterpiece, Amazon are you looking, beacuse this is Passion !!!
Getting choked up just looking at a freakin model…. I salute you, Weta. Well played.
Stop it, it's too beautiful! This is why I do films!
Thank you for your wonderful work. Changed all our lives forever. 💙🧙♂
Beautiful piece. A fitting location to showcase as “the end”…
Looks SICK. If I was rich and had thousands of dollars to spend, I'd buy it.
Until then, I'll admire it with awe and wonder from afar
Awesome work guys. Love your studio's work on the whole, and this project looks incredible.

Can you guys teach amazon a billion dollar company to put this much effort and beauty.
Thank you so much for always such an outstanding work! Weta Workshop masters!
Awesome collectible and a great video showing all the people involved
As a fellow ZBrusher, holy moley! That is some detail! Great work, per usual, gang!
It's a good choice they made, to pick that place, but I was completely expecting Minas Tirith!
Richard Taylor isn’t the only one who teared up… 😢
Incredible.
Stunning, just stunning.

Looks good! It really is sad how Amazon Studios has damaged the LoTR brand recently.
*_Let me guess, it's another artificially low edition, maybe 150 worldwide?_*
Love these so much. ❤❤❤✌️
I love you guys for this. I also am crying because oh man is my wallet going to hurt
This Looks Amazing you guys! As A Tolkien RUclipsr I would sure love to get it and Review it! Amazing Work! I love it! :D
Suchhhhh a beautiful piece.
The day I finally have some money to spare on things other than living, ( and if it's back in stock ) this is the first thing I buy !
True artists.
This sold out so fast 😭😭😭
Beautiful ❤❤❤
WOW this is AMAZING!!!
Mithlond (Grey Havens) must have had tens of thousands of people just a few years before Gandalf, Bilbo, Frodo, Galadriel and Elrond go on the ship.
So when are you going to make 3d models available to print in convenient hexagon shapes that happen to work for a certain board game about settling?
Wētā - I salute you.
this small clip is better than the rings of power
Elven architecture be the best
Weta artist using blender for the topology cleanup lets gooo
Most memorable scene amazing ❤
these are really impressive
I live the environment, only wish I could afford it. With the shipping I will not be able to. Love the work though.
Beautiful ❤
