It was probably written in the late 1800s but see how true it is today given the fact that human nature does not change. Thank you for sharing Tolstoy's spirituality and genius. I love classic literature and bedtime stories. ❤❤❤

I love how Tolstoy uses simple parables to convey deep truths about society’s resistance to new ideas. Very insightful

What he wrote so long ago, is relevant to today and all it's problems. Still the same solutions.

To think back over the history of mankind is overwhelming. War has always outdistanced love. To love seems to open the door to abuse. Just read the news and see how contemporary love is defined. Lord have mercy.

THIS IS AS GOOD AS HAPPENING NOW!!
    DO WE EVER LEARN??? 😢
Paraphrasing::: WIDE is the road that leads to destruction and MANY are on it.... NARROW is the gate that leads to LIFE and FEW FIND IT.

"According to Christ's teaching, in order to annihilate evil we must not employ violence against it, but must destroy it from the root with love."

It's what love there is within families that has made it possible for us to survive to this day, because the evil spoken of here also survives to this day.

Many of what are regarded as weeds end up being food or of other use. That being said, lawns over more functional plants will prove to be more of a problem than is now realized.
So much of what is needed is treated like a luxury and vice versa.
Distinction from action as one's identity might be the secret to happiness.
