The meal looked amazing. I am staying 5 nights at the Horseshoe in February and the total is $290. Meal for 2 more expensive than a 5-night stay. If I hit a jackpot I will indulge. Thanks for sharing, nice work Shin!!
The meal was great. And yes, very expensive though I always order a lot for RUclips videos and I doubt normally 2 diners would get to a $400 bill. It was very expensive and fortunately for me, my friend did pay for this dinner. I was very appreciative. You're not wrong. My local restaurant here that I go to for a meal has baked potato sides for $3. Granted it doesn't come with 6 shots of toppings lmao. The Vegas strip is no cheap place to vacation anymore, but with the crowds lately, it doesn't seem like it's stopping anyone from coming. So if people will keep coming in droves, the prices will remain I suppose. Thanks for watching!
$8 for steak sauce? Some outfits have no shame. Wonder if they would charge of you if you asked for A1 or Heinz 57? I am surprised they didn't charge $50 for the baked potato toppings. As someone mentioned the rib-eye was not seared. At that price that is criminal. I would give this place 1 star.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's confirmed that the Sterling Brunch is not returning. There were some scattered rumors it was going to return if Ballys purchases the Tropicana but that's looking unlikely. Brings a tear to my eye.
First time I've eaten there was for this video. I liked it. Prices are about what I expect for a steak house on the strip. Everything has gotten more expensive lately. Thank you for watching!
@Vegas with Shin Char refers to cooking over a direct heat source (typically a gas flame, wood fire, or charcoal) to create a slightly burnt exterior of the protein, vegetable, or fruit. Asparagus cooked in an oven would be considered to be roasted. I have found that the fastest and easiest way to cook asparagus is in a saute pan with oil. Let it sizzle for a little while and then add a bit of water and cover it and shake it around every once in awhile. When the asparagus has almost reached the appropriate doneness, pour out the remaining liquid and saute to finish. Lots of restaurants do it this way because it is fast and doesn't require much attention.
@@jimklemens5018 Ah I see where the confusion was. I was referring to char as the blackened surface of the asparagus, you're referring to a style of cooking, to char. Noun vs verb. I haven't tried the pan sauté/steaming method for asparagus before but it does sound very efficient. I cook eggs this way to finish the whites while leaving the yolk runny, and pan fried dumplings as well. Sounds like you're very knowledgeable in the field Jim. Are you in the restaurant industry?
@Vegas with Shin The egg cooking technique of adding water to the pan and then covering is called basted (or basting). If you like the edges of your egg to be a bit brown and crispy, don't add any water, just cover it. I own a small bicycle manufacturing company in Taiwan and a couple of other businesses, but love to cook and drink. I have know the owner of Chez TJ for more than 30 years and was the wine buyer for a couple years (I just did it for fun with no compensation). They were able to get two Michelin stars, but are back down to one star.
It's been almost a year since I've been back so I can't for certain. I want to say they provide free bread but hard for me to say for sure. Thanks for watching!

Twice baked refers to a technique in which you bake a potato, take it out, mash up some of the insides and you put it back in to bake it again. The potato was crushed up inside before I got to it which is what I'm referring to. Thanks for watching!
@Vegas with Shin The potato that you were served was cut on the top, smashed longitudinally, and possibly fluffed with a fork to look inviting. I performed this this task several thousand times while I was working at Apple Farm restaurant in San Luis Opispo in the 1980s. A twice baked potato is baked, cut completely in half, then the inner flesh is scooped out, mixed with butter and sour cream, perhaps bacon, green onion, cheese, and jalapeños, then placed back inside the potato shell halves. They would then be placed in a high temperature oven or under a salamander to brown and crisp up the top before service.
Jack Binions is definitely on the upper end of pricing for the strip and very expensive. Unfortunately, this is about the standard pricing for strip steakhouses. But lots of good steak to be had outside of the strip here in Vegas. Thanks for watching!
I like your clips and presentation on youtube. As someone from France i think the food looks good and I’m happy you enjoyed it. The price you paid for your food is way overpriced. The price for the sidedishes are insane plus it is without tax and tips. Why would a sane chef put 6 condiments for a potato? In Europe we rely on the chef that he knows what he is doing. I geus in vegas its all about the show. If you guys feel good about it go ahead. In France this meal would cost about 150-200 euro tax and tip included. You guys in the usa are paying way to much. Why would you as a customer worry about your servant wages if you don’t include tip? Tip is temporary income appreciation, that means you appreciate the server who helped you with outstanding service, not as a vital percentage of their income.
Vegas certainly is no longer a cheap destination vacation like I remember it being growing up. Everything is expensive and yes, sometimes spectacle is just as important as the food itself in this town. But that's just the Vegas strip for all of the visitors. Locals will typically never eat at places like this. Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately, these are pretty standard prices for a steak house on the Vegas strip. It is very expensive. And yes, sometimes, you just get super loud people in the restaurant. It was annoying tbh. Thanks for watching!
@Tossed Salad I understand. Steak house videos are inherently expensive, so I only do one every couple of months. I like to include them to have a solid variety of videos for all the food Vegas has to offer. I do have some good value locations lined up for filming in the coming month though. Thanks!
Most people aren’t using the food bank, get real. These restaurants are busy because people want to have a nice meal out. If you want restaurant reviews of McDonald’s and Taco Bell, best not to watch Vegas vlogers

$17.00 for a baked potato? $30.00 for Oysters Rockafeller? Absolutely not. The loud guy in the background was annoying!!!!
Unfortunately, these are pretty standard prices for a steak house on the Vegas strip. It is very expensive. And yes, sometimes, you just get super loud people in the restaurant. It was annoying tbh. Thanks for watching!
what does beer cost. designer cocktails, can't do the $25 price,,,,,,,,just can't
My friend got a beer and it was $9.95. I'm of the same mind Rush. Outside of RUclips videos, I never order these $25 cocktails. Thanks for watching!
Who the heck can afford a $400.00 meal when majority of people get food bank items
Expensive meal for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@VegaswithShin please Do more average reviews ones which the Blue Collar would afford
@Tossed Salad I understand. Steak house videos are inherently expensive, so I only do one every couple of months. I like to include them to have a solid variety of videos for all the food Vegas has to offer. I do have some good value locations lined up for filming in the coming month though. Thanks!
Review who you want to review.
Most people aren’t using the food bank, get real. These restaurants are busy because people want to have a nice meal out. If you want restaurant reviews of McDonald’s and Taco Bell, best not to watch Vegas vlogers
One baked potato was $17, one Pepsi $7, one Rib Cap was almost $100…bend over
That's the pricing on the strip nowadays. Very expensive. Thanks for watching!
Overpriced
Yeah, though plenty of people have the funds it seems. Thanks for watching!
