@@a_ghost wow!! what is going on with the Wyoming police I wonder, It’s not extremely difficult to put someone in missing person list?? How I’d feel if a family member is missing but police won’t report it is just beyond words 🤦♀️

Those bracelets actually exist. I read in a local news report that folks in my county can get them. I sent the article to a friend whose mother has dementia, and likes to walk up and down the road, picking up litter(God bless her). Wish I could remember where you go to get one, but my best guess would be the health department. Our county is sparsely populated, so if they are available to us, they should be available to every county across the US.
@@itsnotthesamethingthat’s not how county funding works. Likely your county has a grant or has allocated funds for this, but NO it is certainly not available in every county.

Wow, this is amazing. What I’m wondering is why no one who gave him a ride questioned what a 91 year old man was doing hitchhiking. He had to have shown signs of dementia. This will probably be a Hallmark movie next year.
No, to the people who helped him along the way be the glory. Stop giving credit to a fictional storybook character and thank the people who helped this man find his way back home.

What an amazing story! Good thing she was watching TV and saw him. What a thrill that must have been. Unfortunately, he probably doesn't remember his adventure.
For those caring for someone with dementia, think about putting airtags in their coat or get them a moneybelt instead of a regular belt, and put the tag in that.
The stories dementia sufferers tell can sound very convincing and plausible - my 93yo dad makes up alternative family histories from fragments of memory and obviously sits and thinks about them for days until they are very very real to him. He could easily fool a stranger but as I know his true history I can call him out and explain how his story is impossible. Of course I have no idea what he is thinking until he says something about it. Oh and before you tell me to 'just go along with him', some of the stories are causing him great distress and he is grateful to be reminded of the truth. My story above is to help those who are throwing shade on those who gave this old man rides and not reporting it - he would have likely been very convincing in his alternate reality.
@@derekmills5394 so true! I worked in elder care and there are more than a few who have convinced people to give them a ride home only to find later they don’t know the addressor keep changing where they want to go etc. many look and sound perfectly fine.
A true miracle! Of all the news stories of giving on Thanksgiving and the wife happened to watch a segment on one during the nightly news and finds her missing husband on tv who was in another state enjoying a Thanksgiving meal. Just amazing! A true miracle for everyone involved. ❤
My grandmother went missing from her nursing home, my dad found her 10 miles away, he was furious thar a bus driver had picked her up and didn't ask her to pay before dropping her off in the middle of nowhere..
What a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner, looks really good🙏 Thank you for feeding the hungry and taking them in🙏 God bless all the families, may they find their way back home🤗
I hope there are guardian angels with my brother. He suffered a severe brain damaging stroke nearly 20 yrs ago. He claims he is not who he is, claims he has no family. He had a nice apartment and his own car, Chrysler 300, 2010, that was paid for. He walked away from everything and his family has no idea where he is. He seems to be fine when people talk to him, so nobody would have any idea of his severe memory loss. I know he was on SSA, but how would he access his funds when he claims he isn't the person on the bank account. We are at a loss on how to help him.
