FTL Hard mode, NO pause, Forever Alone Engi B As Intended, 1st attempt

- July 11, 2024 stream, playing FTL on hard difficulty with NO pausing! We continue to take a break from cycle streak attempts today as we continue with our As Intended challenges where we play a ship as we assume the Developers intended with the ship's starting build. The Engi B starts with only one crew...so our challenge is to win a run with ONLY the one Engi crew alone! We can use onboard drones, any systems, any weapons, but we must vent or dismiss any crew we get! Get ready for salt as we attempt this Forever Alone challenge! -- Watch live at / rand118

Wonder if the ship would feel slightly more balanced if the Engi started off maximally trained in every skill. Or at least combat, to help with boarders.
Interesting idea, but I feel like max combat training on an Engi is like max repair training on a Mantis, kinda akin to polishing a turd lol. Plus, one Engi still won’t be able to handle more than one boarder, and the anti boarding drone is probably gonna be too slow to coordinate with.
I’m personally of the opinion this ship needs sensors, lv 2 piloting, and lv 2 doors before it even begins to feel balanced, and it would still have too little crew and awful weapons even then.

imho you should be allowd to keep random crew you got, as long as you tried to avoid it (never choosing the option which is likely to give you crev, like the human blue option with the malfunctionning mantis)
Thanks a lot for the name. Thoroughly enjoyed this run. Couple of time he made honoured his name but sadly did not at the end. If you go back to streaking can the you name the engi Die_Hard again?

Hmm, don't know if I want to keep naming the same engi the same name over and over again. I'm taking this week off streaming, but I can maybe name another crew Die Hard at some point.
1:05 are you sure it's not supposed to be "DieHard" the robot from that awful Image Comics book Youngblood?
how about doing as intented Lanias A? without raising the net oxygen level on the ship above 20%?
As intended imo would be the achievement which is just one skinny room after the first jump.
