I've always felt that Chris was an exceptionally smooth driver, but this clip absolutely proves it! Whether he's doing prodigious power slides or relentless racing, his driving is ALWAYS smooth and poised.
One thing that impresses me constantly is just how smooth he can be when he's moving at "9/10 Warp" and still narrates coherently at the same time! I've known people who really can't walk and chew gum simultaneously... really! ;^)
+Pete Rench That's an issue I'm just starting to realize after putting side dumps on my Mustang. Going to need to reinforce the rocker panel with a heat treated shield before it distorts... Love these classics at Spa, though!
+Porsuka Wheelie Just a Mustang, at Spa, braking for a corner, with flames shooting out its side pipes. Totally normal. Nothing to see here. lol, This is what dreams are made of.
Love the Jaaaag, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy a little Chris Harris documentary of how you got into cars, racing and making videos.. Big respect.
Awesome drive, looked very calm and composed, yet very fast. And a great straight 6 soundtrack to boot. And just look at that Mustang under under braking at the end of the Kemmel straight, shooting flames for a solid 3-4 seconds. Fantastic.
love the video the sound of that jag e type is delicious and it looks like you sir are a pretty good driver keep showing off these old race cars there so cool
@Chris Harris on Cars ... Thank you Chris. I cannot drive like you ... So I can enjoy the fantastic content you bring every time. I can feel the cars, be on track ... trough you. I hope and I wish that you are having fun, that you may stay safe ... and have a bit more fun!! Glad to see you at Spa, as I'm from Belgium, and I have about 600 laps at Spa in my Jaguar XKR and Nissan GTR R35 (most in GTR).
+Chris Harris on Cars it's been a while, nice to see you're properly busy. Always anxious to see your next endeavour; this'll more than do to tide me over. On that note, time for me to get my kit ready for the racetrack 🙂
beasted that. would love to do a track day at spa. I'm planning on going to The Ring again next year or the year after and would love to be able just to pay for a few laps there instead of a full day
Slicin and dicin em Chris! That Jag really boogies! I have gone through Eau Rouge a million times on my simulators with my really good set up balls out maximum speed. But I jus't can't imagine how fucking scary taking that shit in real life must be!!!!
Chris. I have a request. Can you find the creation of Jochen Dauer , the Dauer 962 and test it ? (Track , Vs other Supercars , 0-100,0-200 etc ) M'talking about those 12-13 ever made by Jochen Dauer in 1993-94. One of them is in Nuremberg , in Jochen Dauer's house...i think...... It is sad of how underrated car the Dauer 962 LM is. Can you revive it ?
It's on Steam, for very little money. A few years ago, you were able to send in keys and a photo of your retail copy and receive a Steam key, but they've stopped doing that. That said, I would recommend buying GTR 2 (also very cheap) and downloading the excellent Power & Glory mod instead. It has all the cars from GT Legends with added historical accuracy and allows you to use any track or other mod made for GTR 2. Since there is more user-generated content for GTR 2 and a weather system (absent in GT Legends), it makes a ton of sense. However, GT Legends might still be a good choice for you if you're interested in its career mode. My favorite user-created track by the way is the magnificent Targa Florio track available at NoGripRacing (download the GTR 2 version), which replicates the entire 45 mile course around the island of Sicily. It might look a little outdated since the engine was never meant for tracks this long, but it's an incredible driving experience. Mile after mile of exquisite, twisty roads.
i have driven the targe florio many times, amazing track! with the Altbierbude I have more tracks thank I could ever drive and more cars than I'd ever want., AND a great community with great fair races and events thanks for your input though :)
Mike Halpert actually all of who built the pyramids died. so it was neither me or you. we just happen to live on the same land so we get the lands history.
+Jack “H” Cooper Because it's a longitudinal box with 3 shafts. It's a common arrangement. The first 3 gears have cogs (with straight cut teeth) but the 4th gear doesn't use the cogs. It links in input shaft directly to the output shaft: "direct drive". Hence no noise... ;)
+João Vale Hey, so what would be the purpose of having straight cut for 1-3, and helical for above? Is there a benefit? Also what is the performance difference in straight cut and helical? Sorry I'm kind of new to this stuff lol
Talk about perfect driving, a perfect car and an amazing sound!!
Love that sound.
That was fantastic. That sound is just heaven. More of this please :)
I've always felt that Chris was an exceptionally smooth driver, but this clip absolutely proves it! Whether he's doing prodigious power slides or relentless racing, his driving is ALWAYS smooth and poised.
+joeguitargod Agreed!
Or at least the footage he shows us is....:) but yeah agreed. The man has balls
One thing that impresses me constantly is just how smooth he can be when he's moving at "9/10 Warp" and still narrates coherently at the same time! I've known people who really can't walk and chew gum simultaneously... really! ;^)
Simply delightful. Perfect timing on the Shelby pass to catch the flames out the side pipes!

+Porsuka Wheelie Thats how they warm up their tires ;-)
+Deter Pinklage Noticed that too, and it shot flames for quite some time aswell. Awesome.
love watching chris row through gears. makes me instantly wanna jump in my car & row through my own, every time! keep up the vids chris, we love em
That sound of straight cut gears!!!!
Love the Jaaaag, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy a little Chris Harris documentary of how you got into cars, racing and making videos.. Big respect.
This car has great acceleration for such an old car...
Is this the original racing lightweight E-Type or the new Eagle, it's a little hard to tell.
+Jack Shepherdson That's a good question... I think it's the original E-Type.
+Jack Shepherdson it's a original E-Type roadster that has more recently by converted into a low drag, it's a fairly common modification.
+Jack Shepherdson they don't allow modern cars like the Eagle into classic racing, only originals and exact replicas and even then not always.
+Daniel Fox what does low drag stand for? I don't speak english as a first language, so some of the expressions are hard to understand.
That was simply beautiful... Any further words wouldn´t do this constellation of car, track and driver justice.
And holy shit that Jag is quick!
Awesome drive, looked very calm and composed, yet very fast. And a great straight 6 soundtrack to boot. And just look at that Mustang under under braking at the end of the Kemmel straight, shooting flames for a solid 3-4 seconds. Fantastic.
I Envy you so much!!! Nice job mate!
Fantastic driving! I really enjoy your videos Chris
That Jag looks planted. Was expecting a bit more of a fight with the wheel but it all looks so calm and uneventful. Bet it's a pleasure to drive!
One of the greatest cars, at one of the greatest tracks, couldn't be better! Thanks...
Thankssss! I was waiting for it! Amazing how it flies, i know how difficult it is to drive an e-type, good job!
That flaming Mustang!
Sublime, Superb, wonderful, awesome. Hmn can probably think up some other terms to describe this. Thanks Chris for the ride !!
WOW! I really enjoyed that. Incredible performance from man & machine.
Watching this video, I'm amazed how fast f1 cars are. My god, the onboard difference is surreal.
Great Video, as always!
I was there the next day - awesome event. Never seen so much historic F1 cars in one spot.
love the video the sound of that jag e type is delicious and it looks like you sir are a pretty good driver keep showing off these old race cars there so cool
Looks so well planted and manageable - and made to flatter by driver skill. Nice one Chris!
Chris, simply beautiful driving. Well done my son, well done!!
@Chris Harris on Cars ... Thank you Chris. I cannot drive like you ... So I can enjoy the fantastic content you bring every time. I can feel the cars, be on track ... trough you.

Glad to see you at Spa, as I'm from Belgium, and I have about 600 laps at Spa in my Jaguar XKR and Nissan GTR R35 (most in GTR).
Awesome, love this track on GT6. What's even better is watching Chris take all the same lines I (try) and take on the game!
Wonderful footage. Love your work Chris :)
Beautiful driving Chris! Perfect line👌
Hi. (Sorry for my English)
+Candyfloss Hello! (excuse my manners)
xD
hahahahahaha...
+Candyfloss Thats okay you are doing fine. Spelling on par with a native.
+Candyfloss It's spelled 'high'
Great job Chris at picking your lines!
This looks dangerous and I absolutely love it!
Cool to see these amazing classic cars being pushed to their limits and actually raced.
Great lap! It's gutting we didn't realise at the time it was you driving! Was a fantastic weekend at spa! We got our footage coming out soon :D
ohhhh that flaming Mustang.... :) great job Chris!!!
FLAMES! 0:46
Great video Chris
The noise is beautiful!
Great video Chris! Would love to see more onboards, especially with the HUD.
Shame that we couldn't see that gorgeous low drag body from the inside. Still a great video non the less Chris! Been loving your content recently!
+Chris Harris on Cars it's been a while, nice to see you're properly busy. Always anxious to see your next endeavour; this'll more than do to tide me over. On that note, time for me to get my kit ready for the racetrack 🙂
that looks like the most incredible experience.
car sounds Beautiful absolutely beautiful tune on it
Chris, you're a hell of a driver. Cheers
Yes now this is exciting footage of racing!
Great video and driving, as always!
Perfect lap Chris!
really nice car, the engine sounds smooth I got the feeling that the engine has a lot of torque. beautiful driving
That was a hell of a noise.
Great lap !
Cheers for the great videos Chris
The car seems amazing to drive. The engine had really good response for an old car, it's impressive.
That sounds bloody great...!
Looked fast both in & out of last section - nice! :-)
Wow! I love this footage. Can we expect a full length video from this event?
Great driving Chris Harris ,
great sounds and sight great steering too
insane laptime given the car and track conditions
almost AS fast as an amateur cup 997, wow
low drag e-type, my dream car!
Looks like a decent day out!
Glorious 6's those early XK engines!
Wish the video was longer!! That was good stuff
the fire breathing mustang. loved it.
The Lister, he droves in 2013, did sound much more brutal. Not just exhaust, the induction noise was also louder.
Awesome! More please!
That E Type is a Beast.
Wow what a fantastic car!
Sooooo much cooler than new cars.
Chris, we want more footage (preferably onboard) of that Mustang!!
Love the way it went flying past the Yank Tank Mustang................
THE FLAMES SPITTING OUT OF THE MUSTANG
beasted that. would love to do a track day at spa. I'm planning on going to The Ring again next year or the year after and would love to be able just to pay for a few laps there instead of a full day
classic car racing is just the fucking best
AMAZING. You guys saw that mustang spitting out flames on both side exhausts? Jeeeezus.
Slicin and dicin em Chris! That Jag really boogies!
I have gone through Eau Rouge a million times on my simulators with my really good set up balls out maximum speed. But I jus't can't imagine how fucking scary taking that shit in real life must be!!!!
Looks like serious fun to drive those cars. Wish the video was a bit longer, maybe 6 hours? :)
+David Lewis He should be good enough to drive two cars for 6 hours at the same time :) If not somebody has to clone him.
Chris. I have a request.

Shouts out the the Mustang Spewing fire.
reminds me of gt legends
god I'd love to play that game again
Altbierbude ftw

I really liked the camera angle, felt like I was the passenger.
Nicely done, Christopher. What's next for you to review? C7 Z06 Z51 would do nicely.
Awesome!
Chris, can you do more content?
Great lap Chris, o7.
looks proper quick!
PROPER car, kudos sir.
Do you have another channel that you post your race footage to? I would love to vicariously live that experience.
So scary to go around a damp spa so quickly in such a rare beast..
Just when I was jonesing for more, it cuts. :O
Dat belch of flames from the Mustang doe
Hi Chris! Are the lights on the front period correct? Because I would imagine they rather spoil the "Low Drag" part of the name..
The old Jag doesn't seem to be lacking any power! Almost sounds like a 997GT3 cup car through my speakers...
What an awesome car that is!..
THAT MUSTANG WAS SPEWING FLAMES LIKE CAMELS SPEW SPIT. OMG.
+Mike Halpert camels spit!!!
+Osama Bayyoumi I'm aware...... That's why I said what I said.
Osama Bayyoumi well as a Jew, we built those pyramids lol.
But whoever asked you that is an idiot.
Mike Halpert actually all of who built the pyramids died. so it was neither me or you. we just happen to live on the same land so we get the lands history.
Osama Bayyoumi I meant that the Jews built it all those many years ago. But you're still right.
Dat sound! 👌🏾
chris harris > any other automotive journalist ever.
love that track
Amazing stuff!!
Where's the other 5hrs 57mins?!! ;) I would happily watch it all
Why does the straight cut sound vanish when the car goes into (presumably) 4th gear and above?
because of the tax on emissions
+Jack “H” Cooper straight cut gears for 1, 2 and 3, but helical for 4th and above.
Hence no noise... ;)

Please Sir, I want more!
Was there any reason the Race logic computer kept zeroing the KPH at random intervals? Or were they not random intervals?
More.
....and thank you :)
