I dont see why Techno needs apologists. He was always transparent with his ideals, never hid anything from the resistance and gave them as much help as they needed until the job was done and only went against them after they backstabbed him. When you think about it, Techno is is a corrupt/ anti-hero in a tragedy. Someone willing to fight for his ideals (albeit evil and violent ideals) and uphold a strict code of rules: "[he] would never betray [his] personal ideals" I get why others see him as the villain or a traitor but in reality, when you look at the whole picture, he is fighting against corruption on the SMP since, like Phil said, the government system is corrupting all the good people. Thank you for listening to my TED talk (lol sorry for the paragraph, Im starved for Techno content and must thrive through recounting the past)

But I would go further to say for technos character violence is just the ends to a goal, and a product of his circumstances. He is canonically the best pvper on the server he has been used by the system. Especially tubbo in the revolution and even when he tries to leave the butcher army forces him back into total defense mode giving into the chat. So what I really want to point out is technos vision of the future under his anarchy. He often makes large claims about the strong ruling the weak but when techno is closest to his vision as an outcast in retirement he doesn’t go and grief tommy or kill ghostbur when he comes by he works towards a common goal in generally peaceful cooperation. Techno is violent cause the oppressive government and circumstances force him to be, it’s not in his nature and I don’t believe his dystopian anarchy is truely his intention

Honestly, it's more like antagonistic villain. He just wants his way or the highway, but almost-villain does sound about right.
The great thing about this animatic is that is showcases two things:
1. Techno actually cares about people and won’t stop at anything to protect those people (ex: him and Phil’s entire friendship/father-son thing, him wanting make sure Ghostbur was safe when the Butcher Army came, him hiding Tommy from Dream). It shows that Techno is actually hurt when people backstab him (the man has trust issues lmao).
2. It shows how Quackity is evil when it comes to power, but not evil in how he treats people he cares about. If he views someone as a friend, he will be kind to them and treat them with respect. If he sees them as a way to gain power, he will drop them the second they don’t offer that power any longer. Tubbo is somewhere in a grey area for this, considering he is both somewhat of Quackity’s friend and a way to gain power.

I love the body movement. They actually look like two people fighting. One with an axe, swinging it with one hand. And one with a pickaxe, a heavier weapon that is best used with two hands. It even looks like it has weight! Love this! Definitely do more!

BUT i could also be wrong cuz Quackity is some kind of person who doesn't like to give up.
But well in the next weeks there is probably not going to be one anyways cuz Quackity said he wants to kill dream and then Techno.
But yeah i have to agree a rematch would be fire :>
If they have a rematch canonically, Quackity would probably lose and have his last canon life removed because the differences in skill when it comes to PvP. During the actual 1v1 between Technoblade and Quackity, you can observe that Quackity tends to spam his axe, dealing less damage, while Technoblade's attacks are coordinated with timing. That was the main reason why Technoblade won even though Quackity had much better armor than him. I'm not saying they shouldn't have a rematch, I'm just explaining what would happen if they had a rematch.
If Techno goes in with no food and no armor, it might be a fair match

Holy cow... this is one of my favorite Dream SMP animatics yet. The whole buildup... so, so good. I think Quackity is the perfect Neutral Chaotic character of the SMP, which matches him perfectly in opposition against Techno's Neutral Lawful side (many argue Techno isn't neutral lawful, but I've seen a whole video on why he actually is). Quackity is always trying to take advantage of whatever situations are going on in order to get the upper hand for himself, while Techno just wants to use situations to reach a final end goal that doesn't necessarily benefit only himself. In other words, Techno the anarchist encourages chaos but does not take advantage of it - Quackity, like a natural-born Napoleon, tries to ride the chaos and unrest, like a rider breaking in a horse, in order that he can be the winner. This is why he sided with Schlatt, why he betrayed Schlatt for Pogtopia, why he headed up the Butcher Army, and why he started El Rapids/Mexican L'Manberg. And yet, Quackity never stands out as real evil, just kinda selfish and self-centered while proclaiming himself to be a hero. He does have his heroic moments though. However, I think Technoblade is the real hero - he's the Batman of this series, the hero that L'Manberg does not need or want, but the hero it deserves. He will always be rejected and scorned by others, but at the end of the day, he sticks to his ideals, even while fighting his own demons (the chat) and those around him.

It would be sick if all the dream smp animators made a movie animatic that shows the events and lines of the smp if the smp ever dies or finishes, I would watch that movie a million times.
Alright, I've watched a lot of animatics... But I honestly think this might be my favorite. Like, I LOVE the SAD-ist animations, but damn, this moment is just so good, and it's so well executed, I love the character designs, plus some of the best dialogue. Shivers, EVERY TIME I hear Techno say he's gonna put the pickaxe through Quackity's teeth, it's so damn good! Well done!

Quackity is power-hungry. He doesn’t care about what others thinks of his ideals, he just uses people to his advantage and stays loyal to those who give him power. That’s why he was loyal to Schlatt, until realizing that he was just behind him and had no power in the country.
He gains his power by words. But his voice was non existent as Schlatt’s vice.
The speech he gave to technoblade about the country, he was always talking about him. When he says “we” he is talking about himself. That whole speech is for himself.
He aimed to build a nation for him to be in charge, and hides behind a group of people to not seem controlling. He is able to take charge with the butcher army and speak his mind using the word “we” even if he just refers to himself.
He is evil in that he wants power, but he isn’t evil on how he treats his friends
