I lost 13 kgs in 6 months due to intermittent fasting and still doing. Also, I personally recommends to stop eating biryani and high carbs foods while doing the fasting.
This really works and this helps you look younger as well.

I did 2 months of 5-day IIF (13 hours dry fasting from 6am-7pm with 2MAD. Yet on 2-day weekend, I follow my old habit with 4-5 big meals a day). No lose weight monitored so far. Minor changes up & down of ~0.5kg observed. Hard to jump into everyday fasting with cold turkey attitude. 👹👹👹
Yet 13 hours IIF has improved me follows 👇👇
    1. My bad enough constant snoring with 2-3 times sleep apnea in the night, now going into 2-3 times of very lenient snoring in every 40s. This is a big suprise for me with no shocking sleep apnea happened anymore.
    2. I felt body is going a bit light. Self satisfaction feeling I think. 😝😝
    3. Eyes getting clear a bit. Long way to go clearer as in my younger age. Yet now testing reaching 20/20. Stop wearing glasses yet still has a bit blurred vision on & off due to age and mobile phone staring habit more than 5 collective hours per day.
    4. Hands, shoulders, elbows and fingers numbness also improves as my diabetic reading at 14 of 2 months ago, now at 9 after 8 weeks.
    5. Uric acid down from 550 to 490.
    6. Bad gerd symptoms improves 10%. Have to wait some more.
My weight is still at ~80kg. Even my target to be at 55kg with 165cm. A lot of my designer jeans at waist 28-30. Now I am able to wear w32-34 jeans now .
I do think these could be reduced some more when IIF reaching 7-8 months.

The guy has so much bias as he phrased the question. Fasting has been a part of every other ancient culture, and not just our Indian culture. Religion was a way to communicate good health practices when human beings lacked the faculties to come up with an explanation for it. Sadhguru explains it extremely well, while at the same time ignoring the inherent bias that came with the question. 🎉

The body has sysmtems that must be activated every so often with controlled benign stressors. I dont know anybody with a clear understanding of hormesis that would be surprised about fasting benefits.
There is even hormetic sleep deprivation in some contexts that provide health benefits. If not sleeping can be at certain times beneficial, what other hormetic stressors are off the table? One could only imagine. To a person whose introspection is very poorly developed, these are masochistic practices. To someone that has experienced these shifts in perspective about whats toxic and whats not, they are a reliable way to relieve suffering and improve not only health, but psychological wellbeing.

About 9 days l. Combine that with drinking lots of water and increase amount of fiber in your diet you will get used to it more quickly say around 6 days

Meditate on top of that. Youll realize with enough practice whats hunger and what are homeostatic signals that your body used to avoid shifing your resting point. The first is legit, when hungry, eat. But first one has to differentiate whats actual hunger from what are cravings or impulses. Our body and mind can be extremely deceiptful when It comes to energy conservation and will do anything until you force your hand a bit. This is hormesis.
