    What equipment are you glad you got?

  • @ownyourlife5837

    I need to try those DIY medicine balls! I needed a good cheap option

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад

      Awesome! Depending on the type of container you use you can fill it with all kinds of stuff. That being said, I would avoid anything with moisture (dirt/ grass, etc.) Sand, salt tablets, and mulch tend to be proven options.

    The point about the DIY med balls in the context of that $30G gym was funny.

      Nice catch! To be honest I totally forgot we didn't have med balls. Right after filming this video I picked up three new ones from TRX! 😂

    A video on your DIY pulley would be good.

      Will do! The equipment is currently getting prepared for shipment, so I'll make a video of it once it arrives! (In regards to the shipment, our video with the picture that says 'Coming Soon' should give a little teaser of what we are doing).

    Great idea of the Ryobi …need to get one!
    Question I’m try to decide between the Rep 3000 fid bench or the Griffin Fid…any recommendations Thanks!

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад +1

      The Ryobi is an absolute game changer. By far the best hack under $50 you can buy! Also, great question!
      They are pretty similar in design... I’d go with whatever brand is cheaper after shipping and tax! (Rep has free shipping so it depends on your location for Griffin).

    THANK YOU! Finally a reviewer that says the truth on bands! We have probably 30+ bands now in our gym. I've broken 2 now and it doesn't seem to matter what brand they are they will eventually break. I like Elite FTS has a chart for band tension.

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад

      Haha, thanks for catching that! I have yet to break one and am counting the days until I do! 😂🙌🏼
      The chart by EliteFTS is great! I just took those numbers and ranges and put them into a word doc, which is the poster on the beam. Definitely a good reference initially while trying to memorize what weight ranges they are 👍🏼

    What are the 2 factories that produce the bands? What's the cheapest band which is the same quality as the Elite FTS bands you have?

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад +1

      From my research Elite FTS Bands (on sale) are one of the best deals on the market. I actually just picked a ton more during Black Friday!
      In regards to the factories, most companies source it from the factory and custom brand their logo on it. The Rogue, Sorinex, and Elite FTS bands are all the same. I’d go with the cheapest from those three (Amazon bands look like they might be from a different factory so I’d be cautious).

    • @brainchilddesigner
      @brainchilddesigner 2 года назад +1

      @@gymreviewer So, all the upscale brands are purchasing from a single factory?
      I see.
      Where is the factory? N is it in the US?

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад

      The factory for the bands is abroad! (I don’t recall exactly where it is but from what I understand it is not in North/ South America).

    • @brainchilddesigner

      @@gymreviewer That makes sense.

    $30k is kind of expensive, but worth it if you use everything.
    I was lucky I had my setup pre covid bought on Craigslist for cheap. I was set, but during covid I sold stuff and upgraded to Rep/Rogue/Fringe/Ironmaster. So that probably saved me a good chunk that covid had crazy resell prices.

      @@gymreviewer it's nothing crazy just the basics. Rep rack, 2 rep benches, fringe bumpers, couple rogue bars, titan trap bar and ssb. Iron master adjustable dumbbells. Echo bike and bob punching bag for the cardio. I'd like a lat pulldown but don't think I have the space

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад

      Right on, that’s a legit setup! How do you like the Titan trap bar? Is it the rackable hex bar?

    • @r8der674
      @r8der674 2 года назад +1

      @@gymreviewer no it's the same one you have the standard one. I'd like an upgrade to Rogue or the open trap bars but honestly Titans works just fine currently.

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад

      Awesome! I actually think the standard one is a better spec than the Titan ‘upgrade’ trap bar. The powder coated version is too narrow for most people
