    I do watches for a living.
    He leaves out that you can ONLY remove links with arrows.
    You have to have the arrow facing down when pushing pin out. When pushing pin in (to put links in)arrow should be up and the pin should have the split or feet at top and round ..flat part at bottom.

    great video! ended up saving my dad time and energy from going to a jeweler. I tried to use an unfolded paper clip at first but that did not give enough resistance when pushing and the metal would bend. Ended up using a sharp tweezer instead and it worked great! My tip is to wear plastic gloves to avoid any scratches on your skin.

      Yeah, like... I knew there had to be some common sense way to remove watch links without taking to jewelry store, and happens I have a metal utensil, (back of spoon, fork, knife, I never thought of!!))... and I DO have a SIM ejector laying around and likely a paperclip would work as well, but I didn’t think of this stuff on my own-

    Just got a citizen watch, couldn't find a SIM tool so I went to the sewing kit and found a seam ripper which worked well. Pins, paperclips etc would all break due to the strength of the band pins but the seam ripper worked like a charm.

  • @n9i9t9h9i9n
    @n9i9t9h9i9n 6 лет назад +3

    This method worked for me . I took out the pin by placing the sim ejector took on the table with the pointed facing up. Then I placed my seiko watch bracelet on top of the pin so as I could just pull down the strap and the pin would pop out from top. It's very easy way and saves time. Just ensure you are ejecting the pin as per arrow markings on the bracelet. Also once you put back the pin in to the bracelet you don't need a hammer to push it in, just press the protruding pin on the side of a glass table or marble top table.

    Try resting the watch on a towel and tapping the SIM key gently!! with a hammer or something similar so your knocking the pin into the towel. Works a treat! And then you can't hurt your fingers because the object your using is forcing the pin and the pressure goes into the towel not your fingers if you miss or slip!
