Less than a week ago I saw some Fulton's at a surplus store. Kept thinking about them and ended up buying some on eBay, restored my old blue maglite while waiting for the Fultons to arrive, found myself looking at Coleman lanterns online this evening... Now, watching this video and I see all three in the first 30 seconds. What is this disease?!
Replaced the incandescent bulb on mine with a led version.....but I think another great upgrade for the Fulton version is a AA cady... can use more readily available AA batteries....I have a 3 battery holder one....someone told me there is also a 4....but have not been able to find one....by replacing the two big batteries with AA you accomplish two things....able to use rechargeable or the best common battery on the market (in my opinion ) the Energizer lithium.....they store excellent and most of all do not leak.....the battery replacement is almost as good as the bulb replacement.....
Nice video! I have two questions: #1 Would these bulbs work in the Fulton MX-993/U? It doesn't have the 90 degree bend in the head and is a strait flashlight, but otherwise looks similar to your Fulton. #2 Any issues with heat buildup over time while using the upgraded bulbs? Thanks for any answers you can give!
Yes, I believe the MX-993/U uses the same type of incandescent bulb, and thus should work fine with the same LED upgrade. No heat buildup that I've noticed. Being a plastic-bodied light, it doesn't have much in the way of thermal pathways, but I haven't noticed any decrease in performance myself.
i found your video while drunk surfing youtube, can u tell what LED bulb that u said was better than the conversion bulb i got with the conversion battery kit i have for my fulton flashlight? if i can bump up the lumens on the it the better, I mean i like the conversion LED bulb, but if i can get another one that is also kind on the AA batteries conversion i have for it, i wanna try it out!
This one from TTS is definitely a lot brighter, but I did try it with the AA conversion kit for a while, and it used up the AA's pretty quickly. With something this powerful, it's definitely better to stick with the standard D batteries.
I just ordered one that looks identical to the TTS from Hong Kong via Ebay for $2.67 so lets see how that goes lol,... I'm ordering one of those new Military Surplus flashlights for my Grandson's 7th birthday :) He loves flashlights and Military stuff so he should be excited ;)
Yep, I just checked the bulb that I ordered from China & it is a 3 volt :) Here is the one I bought,... Big difference, not brilliant but not $20 either ;) www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Upgrade-Bulb-3W-P13-5S-PR2-LED-Conversion-Kit-Bulbs-for-MagLite-Flashlight/173985888975?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=472773985387&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Yep, that sounds similar to a problem I had with one that had a bad switch. Are you able to try the LED upgrade in a different light, just to be sure? If it still doesn't work in a completely different light, then it's as simple as a bad LED, or maybe just one that isn't the correct voltage to be able to run off 2 D batteries.
@@floridianidiot399 I noticed you are Ebay user MGDGOLF. Sounds like the 1 star review you left of the product in eBay. I bought same item and works fine in my Fultons. Thats the problem when people leave a negative review of the product before they are certain that the issue they are having is infact related to the product they bought.
They should, though not all of them will fit in the retaining ring that screws into the back of the reflector to hold the bulb/LED in. Might have to improvise something different.

Why don't you remove the crap in front of the wall so we can see the entire wall and the difference?

David Yummus Hello there, do you know what voltage should I pick for my MX-991/U? Thank you
@@Solitary_Jupiter
Pretty sure I ordered the 3 volt because the D batteries are 1.5 volts each & there are 2 used :)

David Yummus thank you
Fulton doesn't work since LED upgrade?
IDK what to do next.
Copper contacts are clean.
Could the switch be bad?
It flashed a couple times thats it...

I enjoyed, and upgraded mine.
Will any Maglite 2D led upgrade work in a fulton?

Will the tts bulb work without modification I the Fulton?
Levi S. Yes. Just replace the incandescent bulb with the TTS. No modifications necessary. :)
The listing for the TTS led has ended. Need a new link plz.

Also appears to be from the same seller in the UK, unless I'm mistaken. Been a few years since I posted this video.
