Why would they do something stupid like that I actually love freevee app this is not fair for us
I'm watching my favorite TV show the originals my favorite TV series if Amazon prime does shut down they'll hear my mouth
why didnt u mention kanopy? never heard of that one
Right, just like how amazon denied they were going to do freevee in the first place. I'm more inclined not to believe lying amazon, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
So many older people enjoy watching these shows you would think someone would snatch this site up. It has so many shows on it with such a great variety in one place. That’s what makes it special.
I watch the Virginian and Little house a lot..And they have great picture quality...Best Little House picture quality you will find anywhere...
I agree and am one of those older people (67)
Thing is a lot of content on Freeve is on other services, so how many services do we really need showing the same content?
Advertisers are not interested in that demographic
@@thefleetwoods8015 This is very true as work for a non profit that does various programs for seniors, and overall older people are more conservative on how they spend their money, even if they have it to spend with no worries about how long they will live, so yeah advertisers want demographics that are going to buy their products, and services, and that's usually younger people.
I'm hoping Tubi and Pluto stick around they are excellent for content IMO
I litteraly told a young friend of mine last night where to watch heartland for free and where would she watch it without breaking her folks wallet
Freevee was one of the best ones
Tubi has exploded the last 2 yrs, they aren't going anywhere nor is pluto IMO.
Seems PlutoTV, and Tubi are some of the few free streaming services actually making money, so I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon, but in this crazy world who knows lol!
The FAST services are on the rise because people are tired of paying for lack of content on the paid services.
I hate Freevee is shutting down. That was actually a good channel.
My major gripe is the search. On PC browsers, search doesn't exist; on Roku, it suggests things that don't even exist on Freevee.
aaaaaaahmmm it's free!? not good business
its not going anywhere its fake news, they released a statment
@@aishaalamoudi599 ad revenue is actually very strong on that service
It is not shutting down.
Sick of these little sites sucking up good old movies and charging for them, there’s to many
Woe, thanks for the Freevee update. 😮
Yes, it's true that older films are harder
to watch for free. 😮
Nooooo! I love Freevee! 😢
Freevee is a bit unique in that most of the commercials are for Amazon's products and services. That alone, I would think, would be enough for them to keep it around.
Except that most FreeVee watchers aren't converting to Amazon Prime. Dunno why thex expected anyone to do that, but that apparently was the hope.
@@jamesheartney9546 Before I even learned about IMDB TV, I knew that Amazon had a free live stream similar to HSN. The Freevee ads I'm talking about are an extension to this.
@@jamesheartney9546 Looks like my reply disappeared, but I was saying that Amazon already had a free stream similar to to HSN, but it was for the Amazon marketplace. The commercials on Freevee supplement that.
One of the issues with the FAST glut is that the same content is often on multiple services. So people pick a favourite and stick there -- and that's pretty much been Pluto.
Yep. See the same content on so many of them, just aggregating the same stuff over and over and over again.
@@curtispavlovecIt's much the same content that was syndicated on TV, first on daytime TV then cable channels. And most of these shows aired after VCRs became popular. As such, people have had many opportunities to watch it. It's only the younger viewers who aren't that interested in TV that haven't seen them.
We just cut the cord with Spectrum cable, bought Firesticks and are watching a lot of freevee. This becoming a real headache. I'm subscribing for guidance through this jungle.
I have two fire sticks. I know you can use it on other sites, but I will miss Freevee.
Freevee isn't going away. I noticed lots of ads today about them adding new channels. Good news to us Freevee viewers. 🙃Someone got their news wrong, and I'm very happy. 😀
I guess I better finishing the shows I watch on Freevee then!
They’ll more than likely move any original programming with enough views to prime and all the licensed content is available on Prime anyway
Except it's not true. Amazon is not planning on getting rid of Freevee.
Shutting down one of the big 4 free ad services sounds like a bad idea.
😭
I'm not a huge Amazon fan, but I have to side with them on this one, as if it's not making them any money, and is only going to bleed money, then there's no sense in trying to keep it going.
@@CommodoreFan64 Maybe Amazon can treat their employees better if they are more profitable. HAHAHA I like to joke...
There's way more than 4.
@@jayadams6760 I know that. Many consider freevee, tubi, Pluto, and Roku channel the standard ones.
Let me know what you think about these breaking news videos. Do you want to see more like this? We plan to limit them to major breaking news stories like this.
I don’t know about everyone else Luke, but I approve of these breaking vids. 👍🤙
Luke, I love it that you do breaking news! It’s exciting to hear the news immediately rather than wait until tomorrow.
Keep up the great work!
The Breaking Newz updates are good
Excellent idea Luke
OK by me.
Serves them right for being so greedy with the new charges they have bought in people are fed up with the control these streaming companies have and this will only do more damage to them.
Watch, it’ll all be gone eventually. Thankfully, I kept my DVDs.
Yep. I’ve got close to 2,000 DVD’s and don’t plan to get rid of any of them. Anything streaming can be gone in the blink of an eye.
I've seen lots of you tube channels talking about going back to dvds
Indeed! I snatched up soooo many this past summer for $1 or less at the flea and estate sales
That's a shame. I've found good content on Freevee. What really pisses me off is all the premium steam services we pay for, I've had to rent the last 4 out of 6 flicks my family wanted to view. We have to rent from Amazon Prime to get what we want often. 🤦🤬
I appreciate your Cord Cutting news breaks! Thanks
Who needs freevee,Amazon has all the ads you need now!Congrats to them!
Plus you get to pay a subscription for getting those ads, boy isn’t Amazon the best
@@tmcclafferty amazon freevee is available without prime I used it when i wasn't subscribed to prime lol
@@tmcclaffertyNot as good as they used to be. Greed is such a wonderful thing. Not!
@@tmcclafferty $2.99 cents a month is a bargain considering that subscribing to Hulu w/o ads costs you $15.98 a month (yes, you get to pay double to get it without ads). I'll pay $2.99 if I want ad free rather than $15.98 a month for Hulu, which has absolutely nothing I'm willing to pay for. Oh, and they show ads at the beginning of the show and one at the end. Yes, having to watch two commercials is just too many. To be honest, I don't pay for ad free anything. I don't know of anyone who has died because they had to watch ads. I watch Freevee a lot of the day,
Most of the ads, on many channels, are for other shows on the service. And some channels run the exact same ad at every break. That is a sure way to convince me not to buy a product. Not to mention that many ads are just plain stupid.
I agree wholeheartedly with you!
I love this channel. I can find movies that I am not embarrassed to watch with my 84 yo mother.
I already have Amazon Prime and have enjoyed freevee. Once Amazon said they were going to change Prime to ad supported I figured freevee's days were numbered. Wouldn't mind so much as long as same and similar programs are then ported to Prime.
You can tell ad content is down. People have been talking OTA channels scrambling signals with Atsc 3.0.
Free tv is my only source of entertainment I hope my favorite pluto stays.
ME TOO PLUTO MY FAVORITE THEN TUBI FOR MY MOVIES AND TV SHOWS
I mute tv when ads come on
And check my phone or play with my cat...RUclips, freevee, prime, whatever...so no sales to me!😂
had to replace a remote when the mute button ceased to function. Without mute, It_________was_____taking____too________long_________to_____turn______volume_____down___normally
Hopefully The Roku Channel won't be shutdown too.🙏
The Roku Channel is probably much more popular than Freevee.
Why would roku TV shut down?
@@madmax2069 Too many Roku TV users getting confused by the Live streaming channels getting integrated in the same guide with their OTA channels, making it harder to find their antenna channels.
@@madmax2069 IDK but he did mention that a lot more free streaming services will be shutting down.🤷♂️
Netflix is done! I never intend to pay for TV again! I already pay for internet service in which is very poor in Joplin Mo./Spark light. I would guess by the end of 2024 a lot will fall, I do get local TV, digital but digital is poor reception! Until mainstream TV decides to produce quality programing tv! NBC, CBS, ABC/CNN, FOX decide to get their heads out of ASS and produce shows that more than 10% of America wants to see??? Hum! They will lose money! 😁😁😁😁🤣🤣 enjoying your show.
I watch Freevee every day!
They don’t care
How much time-wise do you find the ads taking up per hour? Is their logo still on the screen too?
Not sure why Amazon would abandon the 'Freevee' platform rather than just shift its focus. Not sure who owns Plex, but its unique in that they have both pay-per-view and free content on the same streaming platform. That makes it easy to look through the offerings, then choose something; if its something you want to watch you'd probably pay a few $$ for it even though you were looking for free content. Kind of an interesting idea and I've wondered why the larger media companies who have both old and new movie and TV content in their catalogs don't do something similar.
I really enjoyed watching the x files and fringe, hopefully another free service picks them up !
Might want to look at buying a copy of the DVD box set; I love X-Files as well.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the free services totally phased out, which is bad news to us older folks. I won't pay for anything and will just go back to my indoor antenna if that happens.
Man, Freevee has the original Night Court which I love.
Wow will miss Freevee if it Shutdown i enjoy the shows on there
Funny thing I been noticing while watching Amazon prime ,
I would scroll down to were it shows Amazon freevee ,
many of the same movies that were in the paid rent section of movies
were also listed to steam for free in freevee section ,
But Amazon must of changed it recently because
There were freevee movies I didn't finish watching but are now under
paid renting only .
Its these things I don't like because Amazon is limiting its library more and more ,
Things that were also on freevee , now they are pulling to keep them only for
rent .
Amazon is denying this
Just like they denied they were going to do freevee in the first place. Will have to wait and see if amazon is lying again.
I hope they’re telling the truth unlike many corporations
I do like your breaking brief news updates.
Me too
Wow! Another gut punch. Google is shutting down Google podcasts and now this. First, bad marketing by Amazon. There is no Prime symbol or even commercials encouraging watchers to try Prime. How many viewers even know FreeVee is an Amazon app?
We love FreeVee since it has all the old shows we grew up on, like Hogan's Heroes and Magnum P.I. original. And the commercials are very short and infrequent. That's why we left cable TV. You have to watch six commercials every 10 minutes on cable.
Supposedly this is NOT TRUE and isn't going to happen!
Surprising, but at the same time not surprising.
That's deep
@@unclestinky6388 🤯
BUMMER!
I think smaller streaming services would merge with big ones and and I think free live TV services will consolidate to make one basic cable service
I love Freevee. Thank you very much for the information you provide us.
NOOO!!! It didn't make sense to have two apps from the company especially since Prime blended the two. Maybe Prime will still offer the same free content? Wouldn't that get more customers to subscribe than a separate app?
Maybe Amazon thinks it needs only one ad-supported streaming service
Except, Amazon has denied that they plan on getting rid of Freevee. Some people sure seem to be going after Amazon and are totally willing to lie. Hopefully, Amazon will go after them and maybe file suit.
@jleechadwick
Like how amazon lied about doing freevee in the first place. We'll just have to wait and see if amazon is lying again. Since amazon tends to lie about freevee I'm more inclined not to trust anything lying amazon claims. How about truthful people go after amazon who is totally willing to lie and file suit against lying amazon.
Only watched Freevee to see the new Bosch Legacy season. And even then, I recorded the episodes offline and post processed them to remove the commercials before watching. I watch no TV with commercials.
How do you edit out the commercials?
@@paulstein916 a combo of Playon and MCEBuddy software.
Obs
Ad revenues being down also explains the dramatic increase in the raw number of ads on YT and the ever expanding length of them before you can skip out. I thought about YT Premium, but its price is ridiculous - costing as much as my Amazon Prime subscription that gives me much more than just streaming entertainment. Before long, the streaming market is going to degenerate back into the Big Three TV networks that we had historically...
WOW I loved Freevee. This is really crazy. Hopefully they keep Pluto because I love accessing stuff happening in other cities like Chicago & MN.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! Please say this isn't true. I love Freevee. Amazon is just greedy.
Amazon is saying, it is not true
You are just greedy
Got to keep Tubi going! Freevee is okay. Even if ads are soft, Freevee has a ton of ads. Sounds like Amazon is going for profit over profit.
Freevee is not shutting down here in the UK👍👍👍😊
Where is Bosch Legacy going to wind up?
Probably to Amazon Prime where Bosch started or cancelled.
According to Variety just 4 hours ago: Amazon denies rumors Freevee is shutting down.
Amazon also denied they were doing freevee to begin with as well so we'll just have to see if amazon is lying again.
About a year ago wasn't everyone predicting more providers going to ad supported free tv ?
Actually I had read an article not that long ago saying that Amazon was going to close its Amazon gaming service because they're losing money. I want to see if there was a blood code point for dead by daylight and I Google searched if they lost the contract. The article I found said that they're letting the contracts expire so they can close the service.
So I would understand that they closed freevee because they're not making any money through ad sales etc. They might get some money if they can sell off some of their contracts to another service, so they have other content that they may not have already
The problem with so many of these services are they're not made to stand alone they're made to try to migrate people to a paying service. The problem is those services are becoming add supported as well on top of paying for a monthly subscription. The problem with these companies are they're getting too greedy they're expecting to double dip and go hard with the ads to boot I'm sure. We all knew this was unsustainable but wow it is really getting more intense now.
NO!!!! Tubi CAN'T GO-OUT-OF-BUSINESS!!😮😮😯😯
HOPE NOT PLUTO AND TUBI ARE FAVORITE FREE AD SUPPORTING CONTENT LOVE TUBI AND I DON'T MIND SITTING THROUGH A COUPLE OF ADS
Doubtful
I love FREEVEE. It's the only place to binge watch The Waltons
Thanks for your update. I just started to view Freevee and am enjoying it. Hopefully, they'll stick around. 😢
I had no idea that their goal was for ppl to migrate to Prime. I'm already on Prime, but I love freevee.
I wish they'd keep them separate. Navigating Amazon vid is bad enough already.
How am I gonna watch Judy Justice & Tribunal Justice?!😢
Makes perfect sense now that they show commercials on Prime Video it’s kinda pointless to maintain it as a separate service
they still should provide a free tier though
Correct just left a comment myself, congrats to them!prime has all the ads you need!
@@billjones4986😂
Loving thees extra updates.
Amazon may reap their own rewards for this one as folks fail to renew their Prime service. Prime video was a side benefit of fast shipping & delivery but as delivery delays have occurred more and more, Prime video isn't a reason to pay $139 a year.
Was just watching Freevee. I wasn’t happy that prime just put on ads considering we pay for it and then was asked to pay $2.99 a month for ad free. Eventually just won’t watch tv period.
I actually came across a movie that I just finished watching last night on Freevee, granted I do also have Amazon prime.. which I never thought I'd have.
Yeah, shutting down a free service. Screw the people. Now I've got to start thinking if I want to keep Amazon Prime or not.
I really liked that the continued the Bosch series (on here it's called Bosch Legacy) on there. I hope it continues on Prime
If Pluto doesn't get its act to together and fix their app, no one will want it!
I just buy TV Show DVD entire series and transfer to my external hard drive and connect hard drive to smart TV, have a good collection right now. The free apps are great but you can never get the entire series of a TV show, example, seasons 1&2 only on a 5-6 season TV shows. There's even some missing from Season 1 or 2, why bother! Besides, I HATE COMMERCIALS OR ADS!!! THEY'RE TOO DAMN LOUD COMPARED TO THE SHOW YOU'RE WATCHING!
People will be using Freevee and will be willing to wait for another series of a show to be put on Freevee so people who don't want Prime could watch the shows later after Prime takes them off their subscription service.
I look at most of these types of channels for reruns like I Love Lucy and the Golden girls. I loved this channel but I also have Amazon prime for my business so I can look at it through there if a lot of the stuff transfers over to Amazon prime. Nothing lasts forever. Do y'all actually think that our dropping all of these cable channels to move to a cheaper way was going to last for long? It just isn't. It is not designed for us to get ahead so they keep us fighting with each other so we could vote for them so THEY can stay rich and powerful and 99% of us will be too busy hating each other instead of looking at them. That's what capitalism is. And we fall for it every time.
That's not capitalism
Because you asked. I rhink they're nuts. It make streaming like cable, many (like me) didn't like cable and their prices, but they have this idea we will pay to watch tv, that goes against why the majority of people stream.
I know I have enough bills already. If I do add another bill it will be for something more substantial than television.
These corporations and advertisers are clueless. The now (not the future) is Free Ad Supported TV. Every paid live streaming TV service will go out of business just like every cable and satellite company in America if they don't make it all Free with ads. Nobody is going to pay for TV in 2024. Everytime they raise prices on live streaming TV they lose subscribers. The radio has always been ad supported and free. Watching TV on an antenna is Free. All TV should have always been Free ad supported from the very beginning. These TV channels complain about how few people watch TV shows or games. Make it all Free ad supported and everybody will watch. 📺
Guys, it is not true that Amazon is planning on getting rid of Freevee. They have totally denied that they are planning to get rid of Freevee.
also feels like the free services are the large content owners seeing if they can make a bit of money of back catalog with sort of minimal work. if profits arnt enough above cost of setting up streaming servers then they are done.
I do like the breaking news video
Amazon is now a pay streaming ad-supported service. They are really trying to make it hard to justify paying for Prime.
well i'm not shocked but it sucks because they had alot of good shows....better finish them up
Thank God Freevee is still here for now.
Just came across this video and there might be truth to it. Been watching over the last few months the British series Midsomer Murders. I'm currently on season 22 of 24, and noticed that for the last four episodes there were no commercial breaks whatsoever. Very strange.
Yeah people couldn't tell the difference between freevee and prime after 4 commercial breaks in 20 min
Yes, they should just blend the content into prime then rather than just get rid of the free service. I’m not sure what they’re going to do with it.
There is some really great content on Freevee. In our family, we have watched none of it. Because we hate adds!! If Freevee was subscription, then we would have subscribed and stay subscribed, due to the great content. Anything at all with adds, if off the table at our house. Nobody here wants to sit through adds.
I don't watch ANY "Ads" at all. I watch Netflix, Prime & RUclips premium. I'll start watching commercials again when they don't have pregnant men, 90% mixed race couples & "climate change" propaganda. 🤣
Probably because it was better than many of the paid channels.
Soon, you won't be able to find any movies or TV made before the turn of the millennium, because they don't want people to know that this stuff was actually entertaining at one time.
*I am a PRIME member, Amazon Prime Video now wants 3 dollars MORE a month so PRIME ($130+ Yearly) members can watch the videos, AD FREE. I am guessing Jeff needs a third backup yacht. Well he will not get my 3 bucks*
Freevee is the reason I quit Amazon. I got tired of wading thru shows with ads (if I return, I'm opting for the +$3 ad-free Amazon) when on the Amazon vid site. The A-Z interface is/was bad enough without adding in a feck-ton of other content. Wish they would keep them separate.
So let's see. Pluto successfully migrates viewers to Paramount for 6-7 bucks a month. Freevee wanted to migrate viewers to Prime for what, $180 a year? Why wouldn't that work, too? 🤔
Agreed, and if you do the math, with the base Paramount Plus plan at 6 bucks, it's 72 a year not counting taxes. so that's 108 buck difference, and even when you consider Amazon Prime gives you free shipping it's not a deal when so many other places give ya free shipping without paying anything, or if you spend a set amount.
You know you can subscribe to just prime video without the shipping benefit
TikTok going with their TikTok Shop model seems like a genius move on their part. Give creators some cash. Give wannabe advertisers some cash. Keep a small cut for yourself and charge nobody anything up front.
Amazon is sticking ads into all their content on Prime now, UNLESS you pay an extra $2.99 a month to get ad free. That makes Amazon Prime almost $200 a year. No thanks. Time to dig out the old DVDs.
Freevee was my go to tv
By the time you pay for all streaming services to watch TV, you forked over 200 - 300 dollars. You might as well pay for cable.
Variety reportedly reached out to Amazon and they released a statement saying it’s NOT happening.
You got trolled. They still want the free content. And thank god too because Streaming prices are RIDICULOUS and I don’t have Amazon prime but LOVE Freevee for old Amazon originals and judge Judy!
I watch the Australian Soap Neighbours on there so I wonder how this will effect them. maybe they will move to prime.
I think Neighbours will move to Amazon Prime. I watch Neighbours on freevee. There is tons of movies and TV shows to watch. Sadly I think the internet is flooded with streaming apps lime Amazon Prime, Freeved, Paramount, Netflix and a few others I think there maybe too many streaming and not enough subscribers. I only subscribe to two paid apps Paramount and Disney +. Here in the UK I watch ITVX and BBC iplayer and Amazon Freevee for Neighbours. So I don't think Neighbours is going to disappear at least I hope not.
Why can't those running the streaming services understand that the more services that are "ad supported," the lower advertising rates will become?
I mean it's not rocket science, increasing ad supported services not only split the viewer base, but also increased competition between services to get companies to advertise with them
Just goes to show
There is no concern for the public’s need, strictly only to make money.
TV made money from ad support for decades so what changed? Freevee shows the same one or two commercials over and over again. Is that just because not enough companies want to buy the ad space?
Amazon would have made money if the public wanted it. It's shutting down exclusively because the public doesn't want it
@@kngrfdegj5940 It's not just Freevee. Amazon Music is the same way. I refuse to pay for the ad-free, but I hate the endless repeat commercials. Either other advertisers are refusing to buy ad space from Amazon, or this is Amazon's strategy to force us to pay for ad-free: annoy us with the same commercials until we can't stand them anymore. In my case, that simply costs Amazon a potential viewer/listener, since I don't use the service nearly as often as I would if it wasn't so annoying.
I just found freevee. Im looking to dump my Xfinity and it seems like a good replacement with the addition of a local antenna.
I always felt this service watered down Prime. I couldn’t easily tell what was Prime content and what was ad-supported until I started watching the show. This bothered me and caused me stop watching Prime, as it felt like bait and switch. I’m fine with ad-supported and am a big fan of Pluto. I just want to know going in and not feel like I’m being duped. Amazon just didn’t do a good job distinguishing between their services.
now we have paid prime with ads
I know my parents watch stuff on here because it's free and it actually has some decent programming.
I wish they "FREEVEE" would have an ad-free channel. I'd happily pay to get rid of the commercials!!!
These changes will never stop. I'm so fatigued from the constant changes. Freevee's marketing was awful. The name was horrible and so was the logo. You'd think Amazon could market better than this.
Too bad. I think they finally made it easier to navigate Freevee, too.
Very interesting if the reporting turns out to be correct!
I don't think it has anything to do with ad revenues. If it did, then they wouldn't have broken up Prime Video into ad-supported & ad-free tiers. I think it's more along the line of them merging Freevee into Prime Video because there's no need for a single company to have two ad-supported streaming services competing against each other for viewers and revenue. I would also not be surprised if soon after Freevee goes away that they announce splitting Prime Video out of the overall Prime package, and it being a separate subscription service the same way Amazon has Amazon Music, Kindle Unlimited, Audible, and Alexa Emergency Assist.
